“We met at a restaurant on Sacandaga lake called Lakeside Tavern in August 2019, went out on our first date about 2 weeks later and we’re inseparable ever since.”
A little more than a year later we moved in together.
Tim proposed to Meaghan in Lake Placid, NY during their long weekend getaway when they decided to get a small family vacation after the craziness of the pandemic. While Meaghan thought that they were going to the restaurant, Tim ended up giving her “a gift”. This gift was an acrylic sign with the song “Here on out” by Dave Matthew’s band on it which is very sentimental to them. The sign said, “Would it be ok if I called you mine from here on out?”
“It had a Taco Bell hot sauce packet taped to it that said, “Marry me”. That Taco Bell packet is from the very first night we met. I pulled that out of our bag and threw it at him and laughed and said here save this for when you propose to me. Tim ended up actually saving that packet and had it in his safe the entire time we were dating. He told me he knew that day he was going to marry me eventually and couldn’t wait actually to pull that hot sauce packet out one day”, remembers Meaghan.
“Did I expect the proposal? No way!! I work in a jewelry store so how he ended up pulling off buying a ring without me knowing and without my co-workers tipping me off still blows my mind!”
Planning a wedding is a challenging task. This process took 2 years to think through every detail and arrange a truly memorable celebration. 150 guests shared the most intimate moments with the couple. Joyful smiles were unbearable!
“I wanted a wedding that would endure the test of time. I wanted simple glam that I could look back on in 20 years and say yeah, I’d do this same style if I was having my wedding now.”, says Meaghan.
Their wedding invitations were designed by Brittany Gross of LifeoftheParty. Speaking about the wedding rings, Meaghan work in a jeweler store so rings are her forte! She spent a lot of time trying on every single band they had in the store. She wanted something she loved with and without her engagement ring.
“I always knew I loved Martina’s styles the most and knew I’d end up with one of her designs!”, Meaghan says. Her dream bridal gown from Martina Liana she found at the Kleinfeld Bridal In NYC. Meaghan completed her look with a cathedral-length veil, off-white pointed-toe shoes, and beautiful diamond drop earrings. Jenny Yoo designed dresses for her bridesmaids.
Her getting-ready photoshoot bride had at the BW Franklin Square, a hotel across the street from their venue!
Tim had a custom Canali tux purchased through Mark Thomas Mens apparel. Together with the groom, there were 8 groomsmen, their officiant (as he’s one of their best friends) and Tim’s uncle.
Their first look took place outside their venue. The couple exchanged their personalized vows at the first look as well with just their bridal party and immediate family to make it more intimate. Tim cried when and then got really excited when he saw the bride.
“I just couldn’t wait for him to finally see the dress I picked out and have been hiding from him for so long and knew as soon as I saw him, the day all got so real. I couldn’t wait to marry him.”, Meaghan remembers.
The couple did a lot of photos in front of their venue which actually has been standing for over 170 years and they loved the historic architecture of the building itself. They also continued to the historic brownstones down the road to get some different textures and tones to have a variety of looks to their photos.
“My father walking me down the aisle and looking down to see Tim sobbing happy tears as I did was the moment I’ll remember forever”, Meaghan remembers.
They had Tim’s daughter Avery as their flower girl. “Looking back into the seats and seeing all of our loved ones there for us was really special. Getting to be married by someone who knows us so well and whom we love dearly.”
Meaghan has dreamed about Franklin Plaza since she was a young girl. They wanted a very glamorous look and a place with a great team where they felt comfortable and confident enough. Food was also incredibly important to them as the couple come from Italian families, and having great food was non-negotiable. It’s safe to say they most definitely hit The nail on the head.
Images from their florist's Instagram inspired them during the preparation. So they went with neutrals for their color palette. Champagne bridesmaid dresses and the guys in black tuxedos. They chose all-white florals with some greenery. Meaghan had a strong desire to incorporate different textures and types of florals to make the white not too traditional. Fleurtacious Designs did a great job!
For their first dance the couple chose What a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong.
Villa Italia made their wedding cake. They had an abundance of classic Italian appetizers, antipasto display, clams, pasta dishes, as well as a full leg of prosciutto with accompanying melon, cheese, balsamic, olive oils, bread, etc.
Tim gifted Meaghan a live painter to paint her father-daughter dance. The painter “lexihannah.art” painted as they danced and continued to paint through their reception and was finished with the painting by the time the reception concluded. She was absolutely incredible and so talented and everyone was BLOWN AWAY by that.
