Love Story

“What started as a shared passion for aviation quickly grew into something much more, and we fell in love in the flight deck.” Jenny was a student pilot. Landen was her flight instructor. What began as shared hours in the cockpit became a relationship built on the foundation that defines everything they do - mutual trust, a shared direction, and the closeness that comes from navigating the sky together.
Over the years, they supported each other through every stage of their aviation careers, celebrating milestones and working toward the same dream. Today, Landen flies for Delta Air Lines and Jenny for Southwest Airlines - both living the life they worked toward together. It is the kind of partnership that doesn’t just survive ambition; it runs on it.
Santorini entered its story early. It was the first international destination they visited together, and from the moment they arrived, they knew it was unlike anywhere they had been. The breathtaking views, whitewashed architecture, and sunsets that seem made to make people rethink their lives - it all hit immediately. Before leaving the island, they looked at each other and said, “We’re getting married here someday.” Years later, they came back to do exactly that.

About Your Wedding

The wedding was always meant to be more than a single day. From the start, Jenny and Landen envisioned a destination celebration - a full weekend that would allow their 50 closest family and friends to experience Santorini together, not just attend a ceremony. The festivities began the evening before with an all-white sunset welcome party aboard a private luxury sailer, cruising through the breathtaking Santorini caldera. As the boat moved beneath the island’s iconic cliffs, guests enjoyed dinner, music, and one of the most spectacular sunsets in the world. It was the perfect way to welcome everyone to Greece and set the tone for the weekend ahead.
The following evening, they exchanged their vows at Cavo Ventus overlooking the Aegean Sea, celebrating beneath hundreds of glowing candles late into the night. After the wedding, many of their closest friends continued the adventure in Mykonos - a chartered private yacht, crystal-clear Aegean waters, and the island’s iconic beach clubs. Their honeymoon followed at Stella Island in Crete. It was, as Jenny describes it, the perfect ending to an unforgettable celebration - a way of continuing to make memories together long after the wedding day itself had ended.

Morning Details

The morning began at Akrorama Villas, with the caldera already visible and the day still ahead.
Jenny spent the morning surrounded by her bridesmaids, each given the freedom to choose their own black dress - something that made them feel confident and like themselves rather than matching pieces of a coordinated set. Despite every gown being different, the result was beautifully cohesive, with timeless black creating an elegantly unified look that complemented the wedding’s romantic aesthetic. The bouquet waiting for Jenny that morning carried more than flowers - cascading from its arrangement was a gold charm holding a photo of each grandparent who had passed away. Having their images there meant they could symbolically walk down the aisle by her side - a deeply personal way to honor their memory and keep them close on one of the most important days of her life.

Bride Getting Ready

“I embarked on a cross-country journey in search of my dream gown, traveling from Los Angeles to Seattle, through Salt Lake City, and even to Toronto.” The search was extensive, the destinations many - but the answer, when it arrived, was immediate. The dress was the Elysee by Galia Lahav, discovered and known at once as the one. It hadn’t officially been released yet, and somehow Jenny was the first person to try on the sample, which also made her the first to wear it down the aisle. A detail that feels less like a coincidence and more like the dress was waiting specifically for her.
The gown was customized with a new neckline, transforming it into a lace strapless design with optional off-the-shoulder sleeves - a reimagining that made it entirely hers. The veil was, by her own description, the most beautiful part of the look: hand-painted flowers that perfectly matched the dress, cathedral length that moved behind her as she walked. Large pearls completed the look. Every element was chosen with the same intentionality that ran through every other decision of the day.

Groom Getting Ready

Landen’s tuxedo was custom-designed by State and Liberty - tailored, timeless, and built for the elegance of a destination wedding on a Santorini cliff. For the groomsmen, they chose The Black Tux, a practical choice for a destination wedding with guests traveling from different locations: everything could be completed online, tuxedos arriving about ten days before departure for Greece. One less thing to coordinate, one less detail to worry about - which, when planning a wedding across an ocean, was the right call.
He got ready at Akrorama Villas with his groomsmen, his father of the bride, and the particular energy of a wedding morning where everyone already knows the day is going to be extraordinary.

First Look

The first look took place on the cliff at Akrorama Villas, with the caldera stretching out behind them and the Aegean somewhere far below.
“When I turned around, it felt like the entire world went quiet. For a moment, it was just the two of us. Jenny looked more beautiful than I had ever seen her. I couldn’t stop thinking, ‘I get to marry the most beautiful woman in the world today.’”
For Jenny, the moment carried its own kind of release. “When I saw Landen for the first time, every feeling of stress and anticipation instantly disappeared. Standing there waiting for me was the man who had been my biggest supporter, my best friend, and the love of my life. In that moment, nothing else mattered. I remember silently thanking God for blessing me with the man I had always prayed for - my dream man. As I looked at him, I couldn’t stop thinking, ‘I can’t believe I get to marry him today,’ and feeling overwhelmed with gratitude that this was the beginning of forever with the love of my life.”
Two pilots, trained to stay calm in the most demanding conditions, are completely undone by the sight of each other on a cliff above the Aegean. The caldera didn’t hurt.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place at Cavo Ventus, and the moment of arrival was one that Jenny and Landen will never forget. They spent months imagining it - late-night and early-morning conversations with their planner, Sofia, building the vision piece by piece. Nothing could have prepared them for the reality. “Stepping into the venue for the first time and seeing our vision come to life - nothing could have prepared us for the reality. It was even more breathtaking than we had ever envisioned.”
Jenny walked down the aisle to Turning Page by Sleeping at Last, her cascading bouquet of white peonies, orchids, and calla lilies in her hands - and tucked within it, a gold charm holding the photographs of each grandparent who had passed away. They were there, symbolically, for every step she took toward Landen. “Having their photos with me meant they could symbolically walk down the aisle by my side. It was a deeply personal way to honor their memory and keep them close on one of the most important days of my life.”
“Seeing the candles glowing, the florals flowing throughout the space, and our closest family and friends gathered together overlooking the Aegean Sea was an emotional moment we’ll never forget. In that instant, every decision, every detail, and every mile traveled felt worth it. Our dream had become a reality - far beyond our wildest expectations.”

Photoshoot After The Ceremony

Rather than planning specific locations, Jenny and Landen placed complete trust in their photographer, Angelina, and that trust was one of the best decisions of the day. She guided them through breathtaking locations across Santorini, working with the island’s natural beauty, architecture, and golden evening light with a vision and creativity that exceeded anything they could have planned.
“When we received our gallery, we were completely speechless. Every image felt timeless and full of emotion, capturing our day more beautifully than we ever imagined. We will never be able to thank Angelina enough for preserving our memories in such an extraordinary way.”

Wedding Venue & Decor

“Stepping into the venue for the first time and seeing our vision come to life - nothing could have prepared us for the reality. It was even more breathtaking than we had ever envisioned.”
They had flown to Santorini specifically to tour venues, guided by their planner, Sofia from Charlotte May Weddings. After seeing a few properties, nothing compared to the moment they stepped into Cavo Ventus. Everything went quiet. They locked eyes. Without saying a single word, they both instantly knew. From that moment on, there wasn’t another venue they even wanted to see.
The palette was deep green, black, and white - guests arriving in all-black formal attire creating a striking contrast against the white architecture and warm glow of hundreds of candles. Flowing florals, designed by Betty Flowers, resembled gentle waves of the Aegean Sea, moving organically across the tables in a way that felt less like decoration and more like an extension of the landscape. As the sun set and the candles took over, the atmosphere became intimate and almost dreamlike - an unforgettable Mediterranean dinner party beneath the Santorini sky.

Couple's Advice

“Our biggest piece of advice is to choose vendors you truly trust and then allow them to do what they do best. Their expertise is what turns a beautiful wedding into an unforgettable experience. If there’s one vendor we’d tell every couple to prioritize, it’s your photographer. Your wedding day goes by in the blink of an eye, and when it’s over, your photographs and films become the memories you’ll cherish forever.”

Reception

Their first dance was to Work Song by Hozier - a song about devotion that felt right for two people who built their lives around supporting each other through every altitude. The evening unfolded exactly as they envisioned: dinner as the sun set slowly over the Aegean, violinist Anna Edelweiss serenading the table, candlelight flickering across the faces of the people they loved most. “Sharing that moment with our family and friends while being serenaded by our incredible violinist made time seem to stand still. The combination of the breathtaking views, candlelight, beautiful music, and the people we love most created a memory we’ll cherish for the rest of our lives.”
“On our wedding day, there wasn’t a single hiccup. Every vendor worked together effortlessly, allowing us to be fully present and enjoy every moment without worry.” Sofia from Charlotte May Weddings had, by the end, become more than a planner - a lifelong friend. The photographers, videographers, florists, violinist, and catering team - every person behind the day brought something that couldn’t be manufactured or replaced. “If we could do it all over again, we wouldn’t change a thing. Every part of our wedding day felt exactly as we dreamed, and if anything, we only wish we could relive it over and over again.”
