Oh, where do we even begin with Kimberly and Taylor's heart-fluttering romance? It's straight out of a rom-com. "We met at Cornell Law School in 2015," Kimberly reminisced. "I was in my second year and Taylor was in his third year. We were friends during law school and took many of the same classes. After graduating, we both moved to New York City to pursue careers in corporate law. In the summer of 2019, our mutual friends decided to rent a house on Fire Island and we both attended. We spent the entire weekend together and instantly realized there was something more than friendship between us."
“On April 23, 2022, we went on a weekend getaway to the Wheatleigh Hotel in the Berkshires. I thought it was a spur-of-the-moment getaway, but Taylor had been secretly planning this weekend for months and had many surprises in store!”, Kimberly happily shares. “Taylor surprised me by proposing before dinner! Immediately after saying yes, my family and Taylor's family jumped out to celebrate with us!”
The morning was filled with a mix of jitters and excitement. The couple's choice of Ceci New York for their invitations set the tone. "We loved the idea of having the floral design on the back of the invitations since it was consistent with the theme of the wedding," Kimberly hinted.
As for the rings, they were nothing short of spectacular. "We worked with the jeweler who designed my engagement ring on my wedding band. For Taylor's wedding band, he wanted a simple ring which I engraved with our initials and wedding date to make it special," she smiled.
“Our stationery was also done by Ceci New York. We worked with their team to design the perfect married monogram that we incorporated throughout the wedding on the menus and linens as well,” shared the bride.
Kimberly's dress hunt was nothing less than a fairy tale. "I knew from the beginning that I wanted to wear a Mira dress since her dresses have a very ethereal and romantic feel," she admitted. "I wanted something that was unique with the details but yet timeless as well. The details on the dress were absolutely beautiful - there was beading and lace but it was so elegantly done and had a timeless feel."
Her shopping escapade at Chic Parisien in Miami was filled with laughter, tears, and champagne. "Because my dress was so beautiful and had such extravagant detailing, I wanted to go more simple with the veil. My shoes were Christian Louboutin. I kept it very simple with my jewelry - just my engagement ring, a tennis bracelet, and diamond drop earrings," she stated.
Taylor, in his sleek Purple Label by Ralph Lauren, looked every bit the dashing groom. Getting ready in that ocean-view suite, with his closest pals, his dad sharing words of wisdom, and Ollie (their dog) running around - it was unforgettable.
The spa's courtyard was drenched in sunlight, the perfect setting for their first look. Seeing Kimberly, in her bridal glory, Taylor’s heart skipped several beats.
Kimberly's reaction? "I was so excited to finally see Taylor and to just be able to hug and kiss him. It made the day feel so real and she was overcome with excitement! It felt like a fairytale."
Every picture tells a story, and oh, what a captivating tale Kimberly and Taylor's snapshots spun! "The venue was so beautiful and so we wanted to take advantage of all of the different locations and backdrops which included beautiful gardens, the intercoastal, and stunning architecture - which was as a European / Mediterranean style," Kimberly said.
Their sunset ceremony was sheer poetry. "The ceremony took place on the lawn outside overlooking the intercoastal at sunset. It was an absolute fairytale," Kimberly mused.
The music, setting, and traditions were a beautiful melding of their personalities and heritage. “We had a traditional Jewish wedding. One of the most special moments was prior to the ceremony we signed our ketubah as we were surrounded by our family and closest friends.”
"I was nervous about the weather – it was raining on and off all day and very windy and it was supposed to start pouring during the ceremony," Kimberly admitted. "We were just hoping to get through it without the rain! However, when I walked down the aisle and saw Taylor at the end of the aisle, all of my concerns faded away and I stopped focusing on the weather. I remember thinking – who cares if it rains, I am getting to marry the love of my life. Luckily the rain held off!"
The decor was a dreamy blend of romance and elegance. From the bright pinks at the ceremony to the soft candlelit blush at the reception, every detail was meticulously planned.
“The chuppah was beyond our expectations - it was absolutely beautiful and was so romantic with cherry blossoms mixed with greenery and roses and crystal teardrops hanging down above us and the flowers reflecting on the mirrored walkway,” noted Kimberly.
“During cocktail hour we had roses floating in the pool. For the reception, we had these amazing beautiful centerpieces that looked like trees with white roses and candles hanging from the branches. The ballroom had incredibly high ceilings and a lot of gold - and so we covered the ceiling and walls of the ballroom with drapery to give it a more intimate and romantic feel and had roses and baby breaths hanging from the ceiling over the dance floor. It was absolutely perfect,” she shared.
As night fell, the reception came alive. Their first dance was pure magic, illuminated by twinkling fairy lights. "We worked with the chef to create unique dishes that were not only delicious but plated elegantly and beautifully," Kimberly recalled, “For the cocktail reception, we had stations ranging from caviar to sushi, and for the afterparty we had fresh pizzas being made in a stone oven. For the afterparty, we had served mini glasses of espresso martinis to make sure the party kept going all night!”
The vendor team didn’t disappoint. “Everyone was so amazing – they truly captured everything we wanted and more. We felt so lucky that we were able to have such an AMAZING Team,” exclaimed Kimberly.
