Candlelight, Burgundy, and a Michelin-Starred Feast: Filly & Antonio's Wedding at Castello Lancellotti

Love Story

It started, of all places, in a work email. Filly is an interior designer; Antonio, an architect. In August 2020, their paths crossed—overlapping professions led to a project, a conversation, the sort of professional exchange that happens a thousand times but rarely becomes more. This time, though, the connection quickly deepened beyond the workplace. “What had started as a simple professional exchange soon turned into an important relationship,” Filly says, recalling that early shift from colleagues to something more.
What followed over the next five years were years spent traveling together and building their shared eye for beauty into something they applied to their own life rather than just their clients’. By the time marriage entered the conversation, it barely felt like a decision at all—it felt like the most natural next step in a journey they were already on together, completing the passage from profession to partnership.

About Your Wedding

Six months of planning, 150 guests, and a vision that was never going to settle for ordinary. Filly and Antonio wanted something theatrical - not loud, not excessive, but unmistakably grand. “Theatrical and refined, capable of expressing luxury without excess,” Filly explains. That sentence became the brief for everything that followed: the burgundy palette, the candlelight, the drapery, the carefully composed rooms.
The hardest part wasn’t the vision itself. It was the guest list, pared down under a strict cap. They had to make difficult choices about who would and wouldn’t be in the room. Everything else came together with surprising clarity. If they could do it all again, they say, they wouldn’t change a single decision—not the vintage concept, not the burgundy tones, not the creative team they trusted to bring it to life.
The moment they keep returning to, when asked what they’ll remember most, is the entrance into the dinner hall. Their guests stepped into a room lit by hundreds of candles. The collective intake of breath told them every month of planning had been worth it.

Morning Details

On the morning of the wedding, before the candles, before the guests, before any of the grandeur to come, there were small, quiet rituals. Invitations designed by Filly’s own sister set the tone for the day’s stationery, with the “Amalfi” paper carrying through every printed detail that followed. The wedding rings were chosen for their simplicity, a deliberate contrast to everything else that would be anything but simple later that evening.
Filly wore earrings given to her by her parents - a small, personal detail tucked quietly into a morning that was otherwise full of preparation for something much larger.

Bride Getting Ready

The search for the dress took longer than Filly expected. It was longer than she would have liked. “It was really very difficult to find the right one,” she admits. In the end, she found what she was looking for in a Vera Wang gown, sourced through Atelier Pantheon. It was the kind of dress worth a difficult search. She completed the look with a Chantilly lace veil, classic pearl earrings, and white Amina Muaddi pumps. She got ready at home, surrounded by her family.
Her bouquet told its own story in two parts. For the church, wildflowers paired with black calla lilies—striking, slightly unexpected. For the venue, something more modern: burgundy anthuriums woven with pearls. It was designed entirely by florist Federica Ambrosini and echoed the burgundy palette that ran through the whole celebration.

Groom Getting Ready

While Filly prepared at home that morning, surrounded by the women closest to her, Antonio was doing the same a short distance away - a Neapolitan tailor’s tuxedo, precise and unmistakably Italian, fitted for a day he’d been imagining since the proposal. There’s a particular kind of quiet that settles over a groom’s morning, away from the flowers and the dress fittings, surrounded instead by family and the simple, steady business of getting dressed for the most important day of his life. Antonio’s morning carried exactly that—understated, surrounded by people who mattered, the calm before a celebration neither of them would forget.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place at the Mother Church of Saint Margaret and Saint Potitus in Lauro. The couple’s own grandchildren served as ring bearers - a detail that added an unexpected layer of family history to an already significant moment. Walking down the aisle, Filly remembers one moment above all: “When I walked down the nave of the church, going to meet my future husband.”

Photoshoot After The Ceremony

After the ceremony, Filly and Antonio moved straight to the celebration grounds for a quieter moment that belonged just to them. They paused for newlywed portraits before the wider party absorbed their attention. The setting that would soon hold 150 guests and hundreds of candles was, for those few minutes, theirs alone—two architects of beauty, briefly stepping back to take in what they’d built together.

Wedding Venue & Decor

Castello Lancellotti required little persuasion. “The location was chosen for the beauty of its interior rooms, frescoed and decorated with scenes of the Lancellotti royal family,” Filly explains. Centuries of royal history set the scene before a single candle was lit. The burgundy palette guided every detail: deep drapery, flickering candlelight, and floral arrangements. Natural touches—like fruit woven through the tablescapes—created a room both scenic and warm. Sophistication defined everything.
What surprised them most wasn’t the visual impact. They had planned for that meticulously. It was the collaboration between elements they hadn’t fully anticipated. “The synergy between the live band and the technical lighting had a much greater impact than expected… it was the lights that truly highlighted the spaces and the music that gave energy to the atmosphere,” Filly says. The room looked exactly as designed. It felt like something more.

Reception

There was no traditional first dance. Instead, Filly and Antonio made their entrance to the unmistakable opening notes of Daft Punk’s “One More Time.” They traded slow romance for pure, immediate energy. “There wasn’t a first dance but a dynamic entrance, to the notes of ‘One More Time’ by Daft Punk,” Filly says.
Dinner followed in kind: a fully Michelin-starred banqueting experience. “We chose a Michelin-starred banqueting!” Filly says simply. Between the live band, the meticulously designed lighting, and a menu built to match the evening’s ambition, the reception delivered exactly what the couple had envisioned from the very first conversation about their wedding. It was theatrical, refined, and entirely unforgettable.
