Their story started with taking ESL classes together. Meeting each other for the first time in the college hallway they never thought that one day they’d tie the knot on July 1st, 2022. Julia remembers every moment, even that he was wearing sneakers, pants and an Adidas sweatshirt. He was walking and turning the keys to his car on his index finger. It was immediately obvious that this was a Ukrainian guy. When the lesson started, Oleh didn't have a book and the teacher suggested him move closer to Julia. After the conversation, they agreed to meet again and that’s how everything started.
They’d been together for 6 years already so Julia expected the proposal. They decided not to tell anyone and had an elopement in Vegas. They remember how shocked all their relatives and friends were when they saw their photos on Instagram. It took 9 months to plan their wedding to the smallest details.
As the engagement ring was very classic they decided their wedding rings to be simple and they got them from Michaels Jewelers. Julia always knew she wanted acrylic invitations and @yes.paper designed them for a couple.
The couple chose their house in Norwalk, CT for getting ready. Her bridal gown was designed by WONA concept New York, a Ukrainian brand. It was chosen in the first and last store they went to. Julia completed her look with Veil by WONA concept, pearl hair pins from bhldn, shoes from SjP, and a necklace and earrings that her mom gave as a gift.
Oleh chose the tuxedo from Indochino. He was getting ready in the same house with the groom’s men and his brother.
The Ceremony took place at the Surf Club On The Sound. The couple chose 4 their goddaughters as flower girls. The bride walked down the aisle to Kohannia by Piano Boy. The wedding bouquet with White Roses from @arugulatango was in harmony with the bride's image.
"When my brother was walking me down the aisle and I asked him to hold me if I fell because I was afraid of tripping over my gown," Julia remembers.
The bride wanted her father, who had passed away years earlier, to be by her side, and she added his photo to her wedding bouquet.
They chose the perfect venue with a beautiful view of the water so they didn't have to go to another location for the photoshoot. A lot of nice spots for photos were great as well as the couple's mood.
Julia and Oleh have carefully chosen the location for their big day. The Surf Club On The Sound set the tone for their incredible event.
The couple opted for a stunning total white décor that was in perfect harmony with their summer wedding. A contemporary aesthetic has been combined with elegance in every detail, from a list of their guests printed on acrylic plexiglass and a welcome sign with their names to a glamorous wedding cake.
One of the key moments was their first dance which came out beautiful even without practicing.
A white wedding cake is always a classic option, so it fit the theme perfectly.
