We're thrilled to share the enchanting love story of Shivani Bagga and Karan, a tale that spans years, continents, and cultures. Their journey began long before they even realized it, with their families intertwined for over 16 years. But fate had a special plan in store for this beautiful couple.
"Our story began long before we even knew it was unfolding," Shivani reminisces. "Our families have been intertwined for over 16 years, yet fate had a special plan in store for us. It wasn't until after Shivani's cousin's wedding that our paths finally crossed. Karan bravely reached out, igniting a conversation that would change our lives forever. And so, our love story began!"
Their first date at Square One Coffee marked the beginning of a remarkable journey. As neighbors who had never truly seen each other before, they embarked on countless adventures together, exploring the world hand in hand. "Travel has been a cornerstone of our relationship, and oh, the places we've seen! From the majestic Rocky Mountains to the vibrant cities of Vancouver, Victoria, and Kelowna, to the charming streets of Milan, Como, Venice, and Rome, and even to the rich culture of India, each destination has woven its own thread into the fabric of our love story," the couple shares.
But it was in Milan, Italy, where their love story reached a new pinnacle. In a moment straight out of a fairytale, Karan proposed to Shivani in front of the magnificent Duomo. "It was a surreal moment of pure love and joy, and we knew in that instant that it was the beginning to our happily ever after," they say.
As they stand on the cusp of this new chapter, their excitement is palpable. "We cannot wait to begin this new life together, hand in hand, hearts intertwined, and souls united in love," the couple expresses.
Shivani and Karan's wedding was a grand affair, held on June 13, 2024, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The couple spent a year meticulously planning their dream wedding, which was described as "Bright, Airy, and Fun." With over 600 guests in attendance, this multicultural celebration was truly a sight to behold.
"Love and support of each other," is what inspired them along the way.
Shivani's bridal preparations were nothing short of spectacular. Her wedding outfit was a masterpiece designed by Aashni, a renowned designer from India. The bride-to-be found her dream attire in Delhi during a special shopping trip with Karan. "We did go to India together for our wedding shopping," Shivani reveals, her eyes sparkling with the memory.
The getting-ready photoshoot took place at home, with Bash Decor creating a stunning setup that perfectly complemented Shivani's bridal glow.
In a departure from Western traditions, Shivani and Karan opted for a more traditional approach, saving their first look for the ceremony itself.
"We saw each other at the ceremony," Shivani shares, her voice filled with emotion. "It was just magical to see each other in our wedding outfits."
The wedding ceremony took place at the Nanaksar Gurudwara in Edmonton, blending cultural traditions with personal touches. It was very magical.
The reception venue was the crown jewel of their celebration - the Edmonton Conference Center, the largest venue in the city.
"It was an amazing experience," the couple gush. With over 600 guests, the venue was transformed into their vision of a bright, airy, and fun celebration.
The reception was a grand affair, befitting the couple's love story. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the couple's first dance to "Chann di Chandini" by Neha Kakkar, a moment that perfectly encapsulated their journey from neighbors to soulmates.
As we conclude this beautiful love story, we're reminded of the power of fate and the magic of love. Shivani and Karan's wedding wasn't just a celebration of their union, but a testament to their journey, their families, and the adventures that await them.
