John photographed my wedding last spring.  He came very highly reviewed from our wedding coordinator... And he exceeded my lofty exceptionalness!

John spent a lot of time getting to know my wife and I before the ceremony (met for drinks, exchanged multiple phone calls and emails, and spent an entire afternoon together taking engagement photos and talking about expectations for the wedding).  At the time, I didn't realize how important getting to know each other would be, but pre and post wedding pictures end up being really intimate.  I can't imagine having a stranger there with my wife and I while taking the photos.  By then I felt like John was a friend, and I was glad to have him there with us.

John is a very talented photographer, and I love our photos.  Not only did John's photos come out spectacularly, but he was also a calming and organizing voice during all of the pre and post wedding madness.   Between family, vendors, and guests there is a lot that goes into a wedding.  John was instrumental in making our wedding run smoothly.   He did an amazing job of getting both formal and candid pictures.  His photos did a great job of telling the story of our wedding.

We hired John after he was recommended by our wedding planner.  From start to finish he was friendly, attentive, and very responsive.  He replied to all my questions promptly, tailored the shoots to our vision, his website works PERFECTLY (payments, photos, everything was easy and quick), and he was lighting fast with both the engagement and wedding photos.  Our wedding seemed to go by so fast, the very next day it just seemed like a happy blur.  When I got the pictures, I spent HOURS laughing, crying, and truly enjoying more moments from the wedding than I'd been able to do on the actual day.  He did a BEAUTIFUL job, and the memories he captured have added so much to our special day for me.  I cannot recommend him highly enough!

John is so professional and makes you feel at ease in front of the camera. He captured beautiful moments at our wedding that will last a lifetime. We worked with John long distance as we were planning a destination wedding. His positive energy made him one of the best vendors to work with throughout the planning experience. John was integral to our wedding as whole and not just wedding photography! We found John on a Facebook giveaway for free engagement photos and he just captured our playfulness so well. We decided to elope to Yosemite and John was on board with every Covid date and time change. John spent an exceptional amount of his own time scoping out photo locations in the park before hand which really made the day of flow smoothly! Additionally, we are pretty casual and John was very helpful when it came down to wedding etiquette and timeline haha! Really can’t recommend John enough. He will absolutely listen to your vision and work to the best of his ability to bring it life for you. He’s also just fun to have around which is something you definitely want in a wedding photographer!

We cannot rave enough about John as a wedding photographer!! From the first phone call to making the  album we will cherish forever, John was spectacular through and through. His steady presence was exactly what we needed as we navigated a wedding during the pandemic, and our constantly evolving plans. He recommended an engagement session which allowed everyone to get to know each other before the wedding day and helped us relax in front of the camera. He was so responsive and never got annoyed with our endless questions. We are so happy with how all of photos turned out, and have gotten nothing but rave reviews from everyone we’ve shared them with. John became a true friend over the past year and we will definitely have him photograph more events in our future. I truly cannot recommend him enough!!

I have been working with John for years and this review is long overdue!  Beyond his very obvious talent with a camera, John is one of my favorite photographers to have on the team for a wedding day.  He is organized but not uptight and  understands that timing needs to adjust as the day flows naturally.  Experience is key, and he has plenty.  On top of it all he is a wonderful human to be around and those are just the vibes you want on a wedding day!
