Bridal Salons CINQ About me

I don’t think of a gown as something that begins with the bride. I want it to feel as though it existed before her.  We have always talked about a CINQ gown as something you might discover in a trunk in your grandmother’s attic. It is beautiful, but there is also a mystery to it. You do not know who wore it, where it has been, or what happened in it. It already feels charged with a life of its own.  That is what I am trying to create. I design through memory, atmosphere, and contradiction, taking references from old photographs, film, literature, historical construction, and objects that become more beautiful with time. I love the tension between precision and decay, structure and softness, something exquisitely made and something slightly undone.  The corsetry, lace, handwork, pin tucking, and layers of silk tulle are not there simply as decoration. They are ways of giving the gown a past.  I want a CINQ gown to feel discovered rather than designed.
