I've made my home in Santa Cruz because I can't imagine anything better than living right between the redwoods and the beach. As an avid traveler, I'll go just about anywhere for a good story, though. I'd call my style a fusion of photojournalism and fashion photography with a focus on humor, authenticity, and those perfectly imperfect in-between moments. I love photographing weddings that are unconventional, nontraditional, and intimate. I believe that photography is just as much about the experience as it is about the images themselves. If you don't enjoy yourself, you won't look back at your photos and feel that happy fluttering in your stomach. It will just feel fake. When you're looking at your photos 10, 20, 50 years from now, I want you to say, "I can't believe what an amazing day that was."

She was great to work with for engagement photos, very comfortable and easy to be around in those intimate moments.
She interviewed us with very thoughtful questions to assess exactly what we want and don't want in our wedding pictures, and she helped us achieve exactly that. For example, my partner and I wanted to spend not much more than 15 minutes on family photos, and Sarah produced some beautiful pictures in exactly that amount of time. She was great working with the kids in the family photos.
Throughout the event, she was masterful in being in exactly the right places at the right times. It seemed like she caught all the special moments from getting ready to the dance floor.
We absolutely love all the pictures Sarah took. I'm no photographer but the framing, composition, and lighting of the pictures was tremendous, Sarah is a true artist, and it shows in every photo, especially the more candid ones. They're beautiful images that have been so great to have in remembering that incredible day.

And the end product matched all of that! Our wedding photos came out so dang good and we are so appreciative of all her hard work in making this dream come true for us. We learned more about ourselves, and are thrilled we got these moments in time captured with her eye and skill!
Aside from the photography itself, she was incredibly easy and fun to work with. She asked so many great questions and got us really thinking about what we want and what we are comfortable with, and even things that we are shy about. She handled all of the aspects we were shy about with professionalism, humor, and ease. She was very organized as well and I loved her reminders, which were always kind and never pushy -- a huge win when planning a wedding! She was understanding to our situation, thoughtful, and supportive. And she worked with us on the financial component; she was extremely fair and well-priced!
We loved working with her, and we have received a ton of positive feedback from our guests about her work and working with her in person!! Can't wait to post more photos and share them with family & friends!!
Sarah was great with communication throughout the planning. She set up a meeting beforehand to go over logistics and more importantly, checked in to see how we pictured the photos, asking us questions to really get to know who we were, and our personalities. In addition, she had us fill out a form closer to the wedding date, to ensure that she wasn’t missing anything. I loved her suggestions too for family photos - it made the process so easy for posed photos!
And on our wedding day itself, Sarah and Nick balanced well between acting as if they weren’t there (so my husband and I could act more naturally), and guiding us to specific locations for photos, all while answering to both my specific requests that came up and guest requests! A huge multi-tasking feat. Thank you SO MUCH, Sarah and Nick for your amazing work.
On the day of the celebration, Sarah showed up on time and ready to go. She has an ideal demeanor to blend in with any group of people and capture lovely candid shots.
She was also well prepared for the group photos - she has a system that we discussed ahead of time, and when you stick to it, it's really efficient!
We are so so happy with the wonderful photos Sarah took, documenting our special day. 11/10 would recommend.
