Vikki and Kourtney (Also known as K), started out as friends - the beginning of a strong foundation for a long-lasting and enduring friendship. At the time, when they first met, neither was looking to be in a relationship. The introduction and first interaction was on a PlayStation chat room where Vikki was invited to play The Division. Their interest in each other sprung in the Spring of 2016 and grew as they spent time together after the Spring semester. In the Summer of 2016, their love flourished and they journeyed to each other's company. During that time, Vikki was preparing to leave for an internship. That 6-hour time difference and the distance between Germany and the United States could not keep them apart, instead, Vikki and K became closer. When Vikki got off the plane, she saw her family there and K was with them. July 30, 2016 was the beginning of the V & K adventures.
They have been together for over 6 years. K proposed at the Murray residence during labor day weekend. It took a year to prepare their dream wedding where they gathered 175 closest people.
“The vision of our dream wedding was to reflect our love and personality.” The wedding theme was Kingdom Hearts. Victoria and K had a modern wedding. The time they spent together to build this wedding inspired them most during the preparation. Also, the people they met along the way to help bring their vision together were really helpful.
Victoria always likes unique things and white gold. Kourtney wanted a metal that was uniquely different so he wanted a black tungsten ring.
Victoria also had special jewelry as she wore it for her sweet 16 birthday party. So it just felt natural to wear it on her wedding day. Also, the rose gold crown-shaped ring was extra special because that is her family's generation ring that has been passed down through the females in Victoria’s family.
For her wedding bouquet, the bride chose Round Shape Bouquet with Roses in shades of lavender and white - Dusty Miller and silver accents. The Florist is The Ritz-Walton wedding collection in Bloomfield, NJ.
Victoria chose the Bijou Bridal exclusive design wedding dress. “It took me less than 24 hours to find that right dress. "When you know...you know." - Victoria says.
She completed her look with a cathedral veil with point sequin lace at the bottom and shoes from DB Blossom Collection. Victoria had her getting ready photoshoot at the Park Chateau.
“Our first look was the key moment we would remember because we both decided that we would surprise each other with what we were going to wear the day of our wedding. So that is what made the day that much more magical.”
When K saw the bride all he can do was hold back the tears of joy because the whole bridal party was watching it. Victoria was nervous because she hasn't seen him all day. She also wanted to know the design of the tuxedo he ended up picking for the wedding.
“We chose to take all our pictures at The Park Chateau because the overall design of the venue was so beautiful.”
Their close ones were with the bride and groom during the photoshoot. David's Bridal Watchung, NJ designed bridesmaids’ dresses.
The ceremony took place in the chapel at The Park Chateau. Victoria chose Dearly Beloved Kingdom Hearts 3 edition Instrumentals to walk down the aisle. The bride was so eager to kiss her groom that she was leaning in for the kiss before the pastor said "You may now kiss the bride". Victoria was so embarrassed that she couldn't help but make a joke.
“We choose this venue because it had everything! A chapel for the ceremony, the estate design that has the elegance and modern design. Also the feel of coming to someone's house to celebrate a special occasion.”
Lavender, lilac, Purple, white and Silver/Gray were chosen as the main color palette for the wedding. The seating cards we did with a twist by using a photo booth frame. Also, the couple went with a non-traditional guest book. They had their guest sign hearts and they were placed in a bigger heart that the couple would be able to displace in their home later.
The couple chose Thank God by Kane Brown for their first dance. The wedding cake was made by Calandra's Bakery.
