From the moment I saw Vivi’s work on Instagram, I knew she was going to be the person I wanted to capture our wedding day. Her photos were beautiful, romantic, and exactly what I envisioned. Then we met over Zoom, and within that first meeting, I realized I had found someone who was just as organized and Type A as I am, and honestly, I was ecstatic.

I feel like Type A girls sometimes get a bad reputation for being controlling or annoying, but really, we’re organized, we know exactly what we want, we’re decisive, and we’re good at what we do. And that was exactly the kind of person I wanted capturing one of the most important days of our lives.

When I first reached out to Vivi, our wedding was still more than two years away, but I already knew I wanted to lock down our date with her because I didn’t want to risk having to find another photographer. Thankfully, she agreed, and I signed the contract that same week. We also scheduled a pre-wedding photoshoot, and by the end of that session, I knew without a doubt that I had chosen the right photographer.

My husband and I are definitely not people who naturally know how to pose or make ourselves look good in photos, but Vivi made the entire process feel effortless. She seamlessly directed us, telling us exactly how to move and pose while somehow still making the whole experience fun and natural. My favorite direction from that day was, of course, **“Sexy leg!”**which became Vivi’s way of reminding me exactly wh ere my leg needed to go to get the perfect angle.

And then we got the photos back.

They were beyond anything we could have expected. They were so beautiful, and somehow she made two people who had no idea what they were doing in front of a camera look like we actually knew how to pose. Seeing those photos made us even more excited for our wedding because we already knew we were going to be in such good hands. Who needs Orangetheory when you have Vivi editing your photos?!

Also, a little sidebar: Vivi is not only an incredible photographer, she could genuinely be a wedding coordinator too. She had her own detailed timeline for us, along with actual PowerPoint homework assignments to fill out with our inspiration photos, flat-lay ideas, wedding party information, vendor details, and basically anything else she could possibly need to know. As a fellow Type A person, I cannot explain how much I appreciated this.

She even helped guide us toward several of our other vendors because it was really important to me to choose people who would work well together and create a good team on the wedding day. Her recommendations and advice throughout the entire planning process were invaluable, and by the time our wedding finally arrived, I trusted her completely.

Then came rehearsal day. Vivi had previously instructed us to record the rehearsals so she could see exactly what everything would look like before the wedding. We sent her the videos, she kindly gave us her critiques and suggestions for what she thought would photograph and flow best, and being the smart people that we are, we took every single piece of advice she gave us. At that point, we knew better than to question the professional.

And then it was finally wedding day.

Because the order of events for our wedding was a little different fr om the traditional timeline, we first met Vivi at the church. I introduced her to our wedding party by saying, “This is Vivi. She is the most important person today. You need to listen to her or I will kill you.”

Obviously, I was joking... mostly.

But what I really wanted everyone to understand was how much I trusted her. I knew that the best thing we could possibly do that day was let Vivi do what she does best. If she told us wh ere to stand, we stood there. If she told us to move, we moved. If she told me “sexy leg,” that leg was coming out. I knew that if we trusted her direction and let her work, she would make us shine.

And she absolutely did.

The rest of the day went unbelievably smoothly. Somehow, despite it being nearly a 20-hour day for my husband and me, we had so much fun and never even felt exhausted. There was no stress, no chaos, and not even a wrinkle in the day. We made sure everyone was fed, lunch, dinner, ice cream, boba, and even ramen for post-dinner snacking, and we were able to simply enjoy ourselves and soak in everything happening around us.

Vivi’s infectious energy, professionalism, organization, and genuine excitement set the tone for the entire day. Everyone was riding that energy with her, and it made such a difference. She managed to keep everything moving while still making the experience feel fun, exciting, and completely natural.

There are so many decisions you make while planning a wedding, and after more than two years of planning, there are inevitably things you wonder if you should have done differently. Choosing Vivi was never one of them.

I truly could not have asked for a better person to capture one of the most important days of our lives. From trusting her enough to book her more than two years in advance, to our pre-wedding photos, the PowerPoint homework, the rehearsal critiques, “sexy leg,” and finally our wedding day itself, Vivi was so much more than just our photographer. She became such an important part of our entire wedding experience.

Vivi, thank you for your patience, your energy, your attention to every tiny detail, and the incredible amount of work you put into making sure our day was everything we dreamed it would be. She truly took the time to review our responses and references, which helped her understand how to capture our personalities and create photos that felt authentic to us. Whenever we had questions, she was always patient, thoughtful, and willing to help. Her guidance gave us so much confidence and peace of mind.

On the wedding day, Vivi exceeded every expectation. Her and her team arrived early, brought amazing energy, and immediately made us feel comfortable. Whenever our smiles looked awkward or our poses felt unnatural, she gently guided us and even cracked jokes to help us relax. We especially appreciated her direct and honest approach because we knew every suggestion came fr om wanting us to look our best. We trusted her completely, and whatever she asked us to do, we happily followed!

Vivi is not only an incredibly talented photographer with an amazing eye for aesthetics, but she is also extremely detail oriented. Her sense of composition, lighting, and storytelling is exceptional, and nothing escapes her attention, from our outfits and poses to the smallest details in every frame. Because of her careful planning and guidance, the entire photography process felt effortless, allowing us to fully enjoy our wedding day.

What impressed us even more was how well Vivi managed everything throughout the day. She communicated effortlessly with our wedding party and guests in four different languages, kindly guiding everyone on wh ere to stand, how to toss flower petals, and what to do during different moments. She also noticed that one of our bridesmaids was having a hard time getting our vow book during ceremony and immediately stepped in to help. These small moments truly reflected how thoughtful, attentive, and professional she is.

We were also very thankful for Benji’s professionalism. We first met him during our rehearsal day, and he immediately made us feel comfortable. He was kind and incredibly patient with us, especially during our group photos after the ceremony. He guided us throughout the entire shooting process, making sure everyone was prepared and positioned well. His drone photos were absolutely incredible and added another beautiful perspective to our wedding memories!

We were so lucky to have Vivi and Benji as our photographers for our wedding. The day before our wedding, Vivi and Benji arrived early for our rehearsal to scout the venue and carefully identify the best locations for our first look and portraits. They also gave a lot of suggestions and feedbacks during our rehearsal. Their preparation and attention to detail were evident even before the wedding day began.

Thank you, Vivi and Benji, for flying all the way from San Francisco to Seattle to capture one of the most important and beautiful days of our lives! Because of both of you, we were able to let go of our worries and simply enjoy being the bride and groom for that day. I truly loved working with Vivi and her team!! I chose Vivi because not only did I love her photography, but also because she has a fabulous dress studio and I ended up renting my wedding dress from her. She is more than just a photographer, she was the most important vendor to curate the vibe - she gave me recommendations for all the other vendors I hired and also introduced me to our planner, and my makeup artist.

That only became more true once we chose our venue: Château de Michellia is a stunning French mansion tucked away outside Salem, breathtaking in person, but we knew it would take real skill with light and color to actually capture that beauty and glory on camera. We evaluated more than 30 photographers and personally interviewed five before we found Vivi on Instagram, wh ere her composition and color palette stopped us in our tracks. Her rates were above what we'd budgeted, which gave us pause — but that hesitation disappeared by the end of our first call with her. She brought more energy and preparation than any photographer we'd met, and it was clear how much she cares about her couples and her craft. We signed without a second thought.

What we didn't fully realize then is that Vivi is so much more than a photographer. She's a visionary, a planner, and a calming presence all at once. Her "homework" and prep guide might sound like a lot at first, but it's pure genius — it walked us through every detail so that by the wedding day, everything felt calm, seamless, and completely taken care of. Whenever we felt overwhelmed, she stepped in with honest, thoughtful recommendations drawn from years of real experience, and every single one was perfect. She made herself endlessly available for our questions, and her warmth turned what could have been the most stressful season of our lives into something we actually got to enjoy. By the time the weekend arrived, we trusted her and her vision completely.

That trust was rewarded a hundred times over. On the day itself, Vivi was warm, cheery, and somehow everywhere at once. She connected instantly with our guests and put everyone at ease — her ability to speak multiple languages was a genuine gift for our elderly family members, who felt so much more comfortable because of her. As someone raised in the US and less familiar with our cultural traditions, I leaned on Vivi's knowledge to prepare for those moments, and she made the whole process smooth and beautiful. Vivi thinks of everything, right down to recommending that Josh wear a white suit to brighten my face under the harsh outdoor ceremony sun — the kind of detail only a true expert would catch. And she worked tirelessly to make sure everyone looked their absolute best, not just the two of us but every guest in the frame.

When the day moved faster than we expected, Vivi was our saving grace. She'd already proactively scouted our locations ahead of time, and when things got tight, she stepped in to help us rearrange the timeline and cut down certain areas so we could stay on track without ever feeling rushed. It was absolutely incredible — and it didn't go unnoticed. Guest after guest came up to us to comment on her professionalism and attention to detail, and once they saw the sneak peeks, the compliments only grew; our friends who dabble in photography were floored by how she used light and angles to make us look our very best. By the end of the night, people were literally asking for her contact for their own weddings, and two of them are already hoping to book her. Her partner Benji was every bit as wonderful — easygoing, talented, and a seamless teammate, quietly fixing ties, belts, and buttons on every guy in the wedding party before a single shot was taken. The two of them worked beautifully together, complementing and adjusting for each other's angles without missing a beat.

And the photos themselves? Every single one is stunning. In most shoots there are a few standouts and a few duds — with Vivi, there were no duds, and once you watch her work, you understand why. Between shots, she'd catch and fix every stray piece of hair, and she kept repeating what became her mantra for the day: "we don't need many shots, just need perfect ones." That philosophy shows in every single frame. She made me feel like the most beautiful I have ever felt in my life. When I worried, in the blur of the day, that I'd missed some shots, Vivi reassured me that she'd captured far more than I remembered — and sure enough, those moments were all waiting in the sneak peeks.

We're so grateful Vivi was willing to travel from the Bay Area to Oregon to be part of our day. We've done several couples shoots over the years with at least four different photographers, and she is, by far, the best we've ever worked with. The truest mark of an incredible vendor is whether you'd go back to them — and with Vivi, we simply never have to look for another photographer again. After long weeks of searching for a photographer whose work was unique, clean, and bright, I came across Vivi's portfolio. From the first meeting, I knew she was the photographer I wanted to capture our wedding. She came down from San Francisco to the LA area for us. Vivi is friendly, has a sharp eye, incredibly detail-oriented, and knows how to make anyone comfortable. Her wonderful, positive, ray-of-sunshine personality makes it easy to smile and relax. I am someone who is not very photogenic, but she truly made me feel like a star and knew how to help me pose gently. Because Vivi is multi-lingual, she made my in-laws comfortable as well. She has a sharp eye for design and detail, helped me find the most beautiful ceremony dress, and gave thoughtful advice on styling for the bride, groom and wedding party. She would also share ideas for hairstyles or floral designs she came across that matched our vision, and I loved how aligned we were throughout the entire process. By the time we had our final planning meeting, we had already worked through most of the details thanks to her guidance and the “homework” she assigned us, which helped us think through every aspect of the wedding day.

She also reviewed everything carefully in advance and prepared us for situations we hadn’t even considered like positioning during the ceremony to avoid harsh sunlight exposure.

On the wedding day, Vivi gave clear and helpful direction so we could pose naturally and comfortably. She even brought a small toy to grab the kids’ attention during photos which was so thoughtful. Her fluency in Korean also helped guide my in-laws during family photos. Her entire team was warm and friendly, and one of her assistants even helped sew the back of my dress to make it better fit.

Within a week, we received our sneak peek photos, and they were absolutely stunning. The colors of our butter-yellow garden wedding came through so beautifully in every shot.

Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. Choosing Vivi was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding, and I would highly recommend her to anyone. She is truly more than just a photographer - she is a friend and a trusted partner throughout the entire wedding journey. We are so lucky to have her!

Fr om the very beginning, her communication was excellent, and she helped us feel fully prepared well before our session even started. She navigated our City Hall ceremony with total expertise, knowing exactly wh ere the best lighting would be for the specific time of day and season. We also did an outdoor shoot at the Legion of Honor and were absolutely blown away by the fantastic results.
