Let’s keep it real - Do you want someone to take nice photos of your wedding ? You could probably hire any other photographer. Do you want someone who is going to be your right hand woman when it comes to planning, who will be so much fun to work with you literally want to be her best friend, who will take the most amazingly inspired and romantic shots of you and your spouse and the most fun photos of your wedding party? Do you want someone who will withstand rain, wind and I’m pretty sure fire for you? Do you want a photographer who will literally throw herself down on the ground to get the most amazing shot of your spouse when they first see you on that amazing day? And then turn right around and break it down on the dance floor? You need to hire this girl.

Here is my true, full experience with Savanna Sturkie over the last year and a half of planning my wedding:

My husband and I planned out wedding for a year and a half, I’m from Brazil and he’s American so right of the bat we knew we needed to work with vendors that were going to be understanding of our cross cultural marriage, and that would be willing to work with both family and guests that do not speak English. A dear college friend of mine suggested Savanna - I looked at her portfolio online and after a phone call I knew she was the girl for us! She was relaxed, easy going, and truly passionate about her work!

A couple months later we met in person, when she drove FOUR WHOLE HOURS to shoot our engagement photos, after working the night before! I knew this girl was a trooper from that moment on, and she was going to be just fine dealing with our more lively guests hah

Fast forward a whole year - Savanna and I had been in touch for a while, she was incredibly helpful when it came to working out a day of timeline and lots of other details! As a bride it was so nice having her around, she knew exactly what she was doing and responded so fast. Like so fast.
The Thursday before our wedding comes around and plot freaking twist - there was a 100% chance of rain on my wedding day. Of course I was upset, but since my wedding was fully indoors I tried to see the positive side of it. Savanna was the ONLY vendor that reached out to me, she personally texted me and told me not to worry about a thing before rainy day weddings were her favorite, she told me how gorgeous my photos would be and how it was important to stay positive and flexible. Oh boy wasn’t she right! The photos are to die for ♥️ and her thoughtfulness to reach out when she found out meant the world to my husband and I!

Her team is incredibly professional but like so much fun! they kept everyone on their toes, and got some amazing shots, they managed not only divorced parents and grandparents but a whole bunch of people that don’t even speak English! They worked amazingly well with the other vendors and were so incredibly on time! My wedding was not late at all - actually I think we were 10 minutes early LOL and I have Savanna and her team to thank for!

We knew Savanna was special when we hired her, and she exceeded our expectations beyond what we ever could have imagined. She’s great at communication from the time you contact her to the photo delivery, she had a special way of making us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and the work she delivers is truly beautiful and a one of a kind. She and her assistant photographer captured our wedding day exactly how it happened and we will always be able to feel the joy of that day just by looking at the images. We are so happy we chose her to capture our day!

We worked with Savanna for our wedding photos and we couldn't be happier! Throughout all of the chaos of 2020 she was a calming and reassuring voice. Flexible and accommodating, she worked with us to make sure that our day was as special as it could be. Savanna has a very down to earth approach that feels authentic and warm. It was important to us to capture the day as it was, us as we are, and Savanna delivered on that for us. The pictures are so incredibly beautiful. We feel so lucky to have such a lovely way to remember our wedding.

There are genuinely not enough characters available to me in this review space to accurately express what an incredible photographer and human being Savanna is. From her extraordinary kindness and graciousness towards us, to her ability to capture the most incredible micro-moments in both our engagement photos and our elopement, Savanna has blown us away again and again. If you do nothing else for your photography needs, invest in Savanna's outstanding talent and I assure you, you will not be disappointed. She has become not just the person we've come to trust to capture our most special moments, but also a dear friend. Do not hesitate, do not pass go, hire this incredible small business owner!!!

Besides her obvious talent, Savanna is a true professional with absolute empathy and compassion for her clients. From the start, she took our story to heart and bent over backwards to accommodate our unique situation (thanks covid). Her photojournalistic style is what ultimately sold us and it did not disappoint. She captured all of the moments we had hoped for, big and small. She made us feel comfortable and brought her creativity to our shoot (and let us use her cute clear umbrellas, as it was a misty day!). She also continuously checked in to see if there were other photos we had in mind. She even used her network to help us score the perfect venue! Unlike some other vendors, she is EXTREMELY responsive to text, email, you name it. It was so refreshing, how easy she was/is to communicate with. She follows through on what she promises and even exceeded our expectations with photo deliveries (e.g. she told us she was going to send a "preview" of our photos which I expected to be less than 10 photos -- it was close to 50!!!). Time capsule covid comment: she wore a mask (the whole time) around my 80+ year old grandparents and kept her distance, which was very much appreciated by everyone. We can't recommend her business enough. It is also so nice that she provides a color and black and white photo for nearly every single photo!! She's just the best. We so look forward to having her shoot our reception next year!

We love Savanna! She made the most important day of our lives even better by being a wonderful, hilarious, and friendly photographer! My family kept mentioning how much they enjoyed her and have very fond memories of her professionalism and love of the craft! My wife and I cherish every single image and video of that day! Thanks again, Savanna, for truly making my memory of our wedding day forever perfect and beautifully shot!

Savanna made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera and didn’t suggest anything that didn’t feel completely natural. We are so happy with the pictures from our wedding and couldn’t recommend her enough. She is so professional and had so many planning suggestions that I never would have thought of. When I look at our wedding photos I remember the day as it was and I’m so thankful Savanna captured it so authentically. Thank you Savanna!!
