ELLE is the principal photographer behind Kindred, with over 12 years of experience documenting love stories. With a background in photojournalism and fine art, she primarily works with analog formats—favoring 35mm, but also using 120 and Polaroid—to bring a variety of perspectives. ZACH manages the administrative side of the studio while often collaborating alongside Elle. Rooted on the East Coast, their personal, immersive style has earned recognition in The New York Times, Vogue, Brides, and Martha Stewart Weddings. In 2020, they were named one of Rangefinder’s “30 Rising Stars,” and in 2025, they were listed among Wezoree's "Top 20 Photographers in the US" and The Wed’s “Top 40 Photographers in the US” as well as “Top 11 Photographers in NYC.”

If you’re looking for your day to be captured in such an organic and authentic way, please look no further. My husband and I stumbled upon Kindred only a week after being engaged, and after flipping through just a few photos, we were in absolute awe and we INSTANTLY knew we needed them to play such an important role for our big day. Fast forward to today and words cannot express how special it was to have Kindred be the ones to capture our most cherished memories. We couldn’t be happier and cannot say thank you enough for everything!

We hired Kindred to photograph our wedding in wine country on 6/14/19. The level of talent and artistry this husband and wife team carry is incomparable, and we were so lucky to have Zach's calming presence guide us through the process. We booked Kindred because of their in-the-moment, raw, un-posed aesthetic, perfectly fitting for my husband and I who get a bit anxious around cameras (we are not the selfie type). Zach gave us some tips and tricks when needed but essentially disappeared and did his thing. We haven't yet received all of our photos but the teasers we were sent are just incredible. We cannot thank them enough!!!
Zach and Elle photographed our in-home engagement session and our wedding in San Francisco. I wish that I could fully express our gratitude for them and the absolutely stunning images they captured of my husband and I. It's worth noting that they are truly wonderful humans. They exude love and warmth, not only for each other, but for their clients. We immediately felt like friends, and that put us at ease—and is one of the things that makes them so damn good at what they do. Seeing them in action is magic. They work together seamlessly, constantly negotiating to both get the best shots. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. The investment in Kindred is nominal compared to the treasure we received. They are a gift.
