Melissa Formica has been my go-to beauty professional since we first met in the editorial world ten years ago. Since then she’s made me feel like the most beautiful version of myself at all of my most important moments - including my bridal shower and throughout our wedding weekend. She has a unique ability to capture her client’s essence in her work - from her flawless airbrush makeup technique to her versatile hairstyling abilities, I feel so grateful to get to work with her and recommend her wholeheartedly to all brides! She can create an entire team to suit your bridal party and will always go above and beyond. Plus, her warm energy and beautiful spirit is the BEST accompaniment to her talent. From the date we booked through my wedding she went above and beyond. Not only did she help me find the perfect hairstyle and makeup specifically for what would work for me on my my big day, but she served as my therapist throughout the entire process! Even the day of she didn’t just do everyone’s hair and make up but she also helped me with putting on all my jewelry and ensuring my dress was perfect.

I used Melissa for my wedding in June and she couldn’t have been better. I’m not a big makeup person, but she did my glam in a way that looked so natural while also enhancing the features that needed it. My skin has never glowed more. In fact, she was so good that my bridesmaids are now using her for their weddings!!
I can’t say enough good things about Melissa! From the trial to my wedding day, she was so incredible to work with! My hair and makeup was absolutely flawless and perfect, withstanding torrential rain and a night of dancing! As a mixed race bride with a racially diverse bridal party, it was important for me to work with someone who could manage all hair textures and skin tones, Melissa seamlessly handled us all! My girls looked stunning, she even touched up my husband before our ceremony! She’s the best!
When looking for a bridal h/mu artist, you look for someone who is obviously talented but who you’ll also enjoy hanging out with on your wedding day. You know you’re going to be nervous and you’re with this person for a lot of hours! Well I found that and more with Melissa. She made me feel so comfortable, listened to my feedback, and did a phenomenal job. I couldn’t help but send a photo of my face and hair to her at 2am because it hadn’t budged! I looked the same after hours of partying as I did when she was finished. I could not recommend her more!!

I can’t say enough good things about Melissa. I was devastated after my first bridal hair and makeup trial with a different stylist did not go the way I wanted it to. Melissa came to our house for our trial and made me feel 1,000x better! She gave me a more natural airbrush makeup look and an effortlessly beautiful wavy side part. I have never felt more beautiful in my life. The biggest thing my husband wanted was to see my freckles on our wedding day, and Melissa made it happen! Melissa was also super helpful about answering questions I had for myself and my bridal party leading up to the wedding! She is a true professional and she did an amazing job with her partner for my bridal party, mom and the mother of the groom on our wedding day. If you’re looking for a hair and makeup artist in NY or NJ, Melissa is your girl! She’s the best! (Photos are from my trial with Melissa — had a different hair piece for wedding!)

I used Melissa for my daughter’s wedding, she did my hair and makeup and and the maid of honor’s too. Melissa was very professional and friendly. She always fast to answer any questions I had before the wedding. She had great price’s too. I highly recommend her.
