Our journey began in the late 90’s as an agency for talented makeup artists who freelanced for renowned cosmetic brands like Christian Dior, Chanel, Smashbox, Stila, and Trish McEvoy. We also represented artists in production, partnering with esteemed brands such as Nike, Target, Nordstrom, and Toyota for national commercials and ad campaigns. However, it was in 1999 that our trajectory shifted when Mar R., Director and Founder of TEAM Hair & Makeup™, was hired to do hair and makeup for several Oscar nominees at the Academy Awards. It was then these high-profile celebrities began recommending TEAM to their fellow celebrities, public figures, and friends for special events and weddings. Since then, we have had the privilege of working with a range of notable personalities, including Diana Ross, Arianna Huffington, Lauren Conrad, Tamara Mowry, Tom Hanks, Elon Musk, and many others. Our extensive experience extends beyond weddings, encompassing projects like New York Bridal Fashion Week and various brand campaign photo shoots. I had originally had my hair and makeup booked with a different company who did my trial run on Sunday. This company did a terrible job, burned/ruined my extensions, and my makeup was awful. My flight out of SB left Tuesday so Monday morning I began frantically calling every salon in SB to see if they could fit me in for a trial run before I left and the only salon that would fit me in on such short notice was TEAM Hair & Makeup. Mar at team hair and makeup saved the day and stayed late into Monday night in order to do a trial run for me before I left town Tuesday morning. She not only saved me from having to make another trip back to SB but did an INCREDIBLE job at my trial and then stayed even later into the night offering some great advice on preparing for my wedding.
I am beyond excited and grateful to have her for my wedding in July and will post pictures of my wedding photos when they arrive to show how talented Mar and and the rest of the team is. It is rare to find a company like TEAM Hair & Makeup who cares so deeply about their clients and truly goes above and beyond. Thank you SO very much TEAM Hair & Makeup!!
Her energy onsite on the wedding day and before my rehearsal dinner was EXACTLY what I needed. She kept me calm and focused, was on time, and my family/friends enjoyed having her there (did I mention she is hilarious?). In addition to Mar - Carlie, Christy, Karina and Sasha were onsite handling the moms, sisters, aunts, bridesmaids, etc. Whether the person was 16 or 70, they could do it all and made everyone look gorgeous. They were all kind, incredibly professional, and SO easy to work with. The day was PACKED with appointments and they never skipped a beat.

For my engagement session, I showed Mar a few pictures of what I liked and from there she worked her magic on me. It was so effortless. All my girlfriends, my fiancé (Now husband), and even my tiger mom thought my makeup/hair looked stunning. For my wedding makeup/hair trial, I was actually really indecisive on how I wanted to look. Mar created so many looks I loved (Hair all down, hair in a low messy bun, a clean high bun etc.), which made it difficult to choose, but Mar took her time with me and helped me make all the right decisions by reading my body language and facial expressions. Can we say... DETAILED? This girl knows her sh*t.
On the wedding day, Mar and her team arrived early and the wedding morning just felt like girls getting glammed up and having fun. I loved that Mar was really patient with my mom and helped her feel pampered and beautiful. My mom is not an easy woman to please and she loved her hair and makeup. My girls looked absolutely stunning and everyone kept complimenting us. Mar was just so fun and had a calming aura about her, and this was absolutely priceless to me. If you're lucky enough that Mar and her team are available on your engagement/wedding day (Since they travel worldwide with amazing photographers), I would book Mar and TEAM immediately. You'll gain a new girlfriend AND she'll make your time as a bride a beautiful and memorable one.
