The best wedding DJs have one thing in common that goes beyond their gear or song choices: they know how to read the room. Not just any room, but the one they're in, with this crowd, at this moment. At Wezoree, we used this skill as our primary criterion for selecting DJs. We thoroughly researched the global market, looking beyond just social media followers and festival appearances, and found DJs who always live up to expectations when it really matters. Here they are.

Asad Naqvi
"Spreading joy through music will always be the biggest privilege and continues to make me love what I do," says Asad Naqvi. He landed his first DJ job in London’s West End nightclubs when he was just 16. Asad didn’t plan to play at weddings at first. Private event requests came in, then he met event planners, and everything else happened from there.
This path eventually led him to NAQ Entertainment - a full-service music agency. The agency offers customized packages featuring DJ sets and live music for weddings, events, and clubs worldwide. He has performed at historic venues for some of the world’s most prominent clients, but what excites him most is the opportunity to be a part of the most important day in a couple’s life. He always starts with an honest conversation when putting together a setlist to learn about the couple’s likes and dislikes, asks them to share a playlist, and then uses his experience to gauge the atmosphere in the room and guide the evening. There are no forbidden songs, and if something really doesn’t work, he’ll find a remix that will please everyone.
Thomas Dusseune
After fifteen years, he still treats every wedding just like every set. He pays attention to the mood in the room and brings the right energy. "I truly believe that I'm still learning from every couple, every wedding, and working with the best in the industry keeps me humbled and hungry for more adventures," Thomas Dusseune says. Whether it's the ceremony, the first dance, or the last song of the night, he believes every important moment deserves the same attention and care. He discovered his passion for music as a young kid working in his dad's bar.
Surrounded by skaters, musicians, artists, and free spirits, he took charge of the music every night and learned by watching dozens of DJs perform. Starting in small bars, his journey eventually took him to festivals, iconic clubs on the French Riviera, and into the wedding scene. In Thomas's work, there is no formula for building a setlist - every wedding is different, he says, and the process is always built together with the couple.
Winston Howard
Winston Howard has spent 18 years in the wedding world, and his promise to every couple remains the same: to create the best party they have ever experienced. His journey began with a love for rhythm, mixing, and the emotional power of music, which he now calls his true calling. "For the past 18 years, I’ve had the privilege of being part of the magical world of weddings. Eighteen years of bringing emotion, joy, and, perhaps, a little bit of exhaustion as well - because once the music starts, my goal is simple: I don’t want anyone sitting back down," he shares.
Winston doesn’t use rigid playlists. Instead, he pays attention to the crowd and chooses music in the moment. For multicultural weddings, he learns about the couple’s favorite songs, their guests’ backgrounds, and the different age groups at the event. He sees music as a way to bring everyone together. Winston always honors must-play requests, and if a song needs to be reconsidered, he talks with the couple early on.
DJ DAYVE
David Wistocki, better known as DJ Dayve, discovered his love for music as a child. He would spend hours listening to Michael Jackson records on his parents' player, completely absorbed in the sound. He put that passion into playing piano, hip-hop dancing, and later DJing after learning his cousin was involved. By age 15, he was already earning money as a DJ at events in southwest Florida, playing at homecomings and proms before finishing high school. In college, a friend's wedding opened his eyes to how music could move people in new ways, and he has been DJing ever since. Nearly 20 years later, he considers himself among the top 5% of wedding DJs in the country.
"There are specific songs that take me back to peak flow states from weddings decades ago - when I hear them, they come back in a flash and still give me goosebumps," he says. Every wedding is personalized from beginning to end. Couples fill out a detailed questionnaire and share their streaming profiles and playlists. David uses this information to create music sets weeks in advance, weaving in cultural heritage, geographic roots, and life experiences so the night truly feels like their own.
VDJ DEEP
Deep Verma began his DJ journey in 2012, while still in school in Ulhasnagar. Over time, he grew from a regular DJ to a full Visual DJ, creating complete live audio-video set experiences rather than just mixing audio. He now travels across India and internationally, performing at high-profile weddings and major corporate events, with NRI clients among his most loyal following. Planning every wedding begins with a conversation several months before the event. He gets to know the couple’s tastes, learns about their guests, and starts putting together a playlist in advance. That way, he can play their favorite songs at just the right moment.
"It is always the crowd's energy. Seeing people react to my live audio-video sets still gives me a huge rush every single time - whether it's a small gig or a big fat wedding," says Deep Verma from VDJ DEEP. The couple does not have to go to the console on the day of the event. As Deep says, this keeps both of us happy and helps the party run smoothly.
The Muses
The last song of the night is their favorite moment, when everyone suddenly realizes it's almost over, and the energy becomes incredibly connected all at once. Jack James Busa and Colin Daniel Walters have been together for nine years. About five years into their relationship, they began DJing as The Muses. As they like to say, music has always been the third part of their relationship, falling somewhere between cupid and couples therapy.
"As two people building a life together through music, we understand firsthand how deeply personal a soundtrack can be," they say. They start the process by getting to know the couple's musical tastes, what they love, how music is part of their relationship, and which songs matter most to them and their guests. After four years of DJing at museum galas, fashion brand events, and downtown nightclubs, they learned to read a crowd and shift the mood as things unfolded.
Rock With U Entertainment
Rock With U Entertainment is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. What began as a shared passion for music and performing between two people has grown into a luxury entertainment and production company. Today, we have a trademarked performance format, a Fusion band concept, a full production division, and a presence both nationwide and internationally. Over the years, they've played for and with many athletes, celebrities, and artists at both private and public events.
They don't use formal setlists; instead, they let the mood of the room shape the music as they go. They pay close attention to what is most important to each couple and always do their best work. "It's really about getting everyone on the same page - requests and inspiration genuinely matter to us, but we also need the freedom to respond to what's actually happening in the room," says the team.
DJ EXEQTIVE
DJ Exeqtive runs Exeqtive Entertainment, a luxury DJ and events company based in Brooklyn. He has worked at celebrity events, for major corporate clients, and at weddings. His clients include top recording artists, global brands, and television networks, showing the high level of his work. At weddings, he often teams up with emcee DJ Royal to create a lively atmosphere that keeps guests engaged all night. He also brings his Guyanese-American heritage into his performances, which has really connected with multicultural crowds and earned praise from couples who felt seen and represented on their special day.
Eslam Kanaria
He plans the music for weddings to match the flow of the evening. The night starts with smooth, ceremonial songs for the couple’s entrance and first dance, then the energy rises until everyone is on the dance floor. Eslam Kanaria, known as DJ Kannaryaa, is a Cairo-based wedding and corporate DJ, music distributor, and sound engineer. He mainly works at Egypt’s top villas, resorts, and five-star hotels along the Nile.
In addition to DJing, he creates the entire sound setup for each event, using top-of-the-line Pioneer equipment and ensuring the acoustics fit the space. He blends traditional Egyptian celebration music with global electronic styles, mixing folk sounds with modern house and Arabic pop remixes to match the vibe. His sets are timed to the high points of the music, with lighting and pyrotechnic effects like cold sparks, heavy fog, and confetti. Kanaria stays on the microphone throughout, hosting and keeping the energy high in the room.
Cassian
Cassian, whose full name is Cassian Stewart-Kasimba, is a GRAMMY Award-winning DJ, producer, and mixing engineer from Sydney who now lives in Los Angeles. He began his music journey playing keys and guitar, then moved into electronic music. Over time, he became a leading figure in atmospheric deep house and melodic techno, performing as a solo headliner and producing tracks for artists such as RÜFÜS DU SOL and Anyma. His music has come out on Rose Avenue, Afterlife, and Odd One Out Records. He has also played at major festivals like Coachella, Tomorrowland, EDC, and Lollapalooza.
