The wedding industry in New Mexico has been growing steadily for many years. Wedding planners here must be highly qualified, as couples who choose this state usually have a clear vision of what their big day should be like. "What I love most is the connection - getting to truly understand each couple and translating their story into something tangible and beautiful," says Mia Villegas. She is the owner and creative director of Sunny Side Events. Her career in wedding planning developed naturally. The first wedding she planned was for a friend who was a contractor. It was a spontaneous, heartfelt celebration in the middle of the desert that showed her just how powerful it can be to bring people together in an intimate setting.

Even after four years, that same instinct continues to guide the work. Sunny Side Events, located in Las Cruces, New Mexico, provides full-service planning and design, partial planning, design-focused services, consulting, and elopement planning. Every service is tailored to fit each couple's unique needs and vision. Mia loves working on weddings that reflect each couple’s unique style. She enjoys both bold, creative celebrations and small, relaxed gatherings, as long as every detail feels meaningful and not just traditional.

Verdeaux & Co.

Taylor Fail founded Verdeaux & Co. after earning degrees in marine biology and psychology and spending several years working in the veterinary field. When COVID began in 2020, she left her full-time job to fully commit to her new path. Her own wedding as a bride was not the best experience, and that inspired how her team works today. They focus on making sure every couple enjoys a positive, stress-free experience, both while planning and on the big day.

"Intentional Moments. Iconic Experiences" is the philosophy of a company founded in Santa Fe that specializes in organizing luxury weddings throughout New Mexico and beyond, primarily for couples from other states and abroad. After more than 10 years, their team continues to grow. At Verdeaux & Co., they offer three service options: Full Planning & Design, Month of Coordination & Design Dual Package, and Month of Coordination. They get to know each couple as individuals, learning what they love and what brought them to New Mexico. This way, every detail on your special day feels thoughtful and true to your story.

Her approach focuses on clear communication and real organization. She sets timelines and expectations from the start, so the planning process always feels manageable. Lauren Waller, who has a background in hotel catering management, founded Just Lovely Weddings in 2014.

She spends time getting to know each couple and tailors her support to fit their needs. This could mean helping with unique wedding ideas or working with their budgeting spreadsheets. In addition to running Just Lovely Weddings, she and her husband are co-owners of Darling Details Rentals. This rental company offers couples a wide selection of items to rent for additional decor at their event. They always aim to create a perfectly organized, well-planned wedding day so the couple can relax and enjoy the celebration with their loved ones.

Ashley Nicole Affair does more than just full-service planning. They offer our own luxury décor rentals, eco-friendly artificial floral arrangements, a wedding-day content creator who delivers custom Reels and TikToks within 24 to 48 hours, and a customizable photo booth. The company was founded in Austin over 10 years ago by CEO Ashley.

The team brings together a specialist with 40 years of experience who helped shape Austin’s wedding industry, former fashion designers, and multilingual coordinators. They all share a passion for celebrating love and supporting every couple. Their planning style is thoughtful and design-focused, blending logistics with creativity to make each wedding feel like a work of art. Based in Austin, they also work with clients in New Mexico and Colorado.

Leigh & Co Events

Leigh & Co Events was founded by Brianne after her own experience as a bride. She enjoyed planning her own wedding, but had a hard time finding a coordinator who would carry out her plans on the day without insisting she sign up for full-service planning she didn’t want. What began as a small project has grown into a close-knit, friendly team with offices and organizers located throughout the United States.

Their team focuses on affordable, personalized day-of coordination centered on the couple's vision, not the planner's. Each team member has real experience in wedding planning or venue management and is trained in Leigh & Co's signature process. Thanks to local organizers working in cities and states across the country, their team ensures a true understanding of local customs for every celebration, no matter where it takes place.
