Top 5 Planners in Vietnam

Stretching more than a thousand kilometres from north to south, Vietnam is a country where planners often work across several different worlds in a single season. In Hanoi, couples can get married in the setting of colonial villas and tree-lined lakes. Limestone karsts rise from the rice fields of Ninh Binh, and the islands of Ha Long Bay are a short distance from the capital. Further south, Hoi An's old merchant lanes glow with silk lanterns, Da Nang's beaches face the East Sea, and Da Lat's pine forests and cool air feel like another country entirely. Ho Chi Minh City offers river views and the vibrant atmosphere of Vietnam's largest city.

It is this variety that shapes the work of the five planners on this list. Some have built their reputation on destination weddings in resorts and on remote hillsides; others on large productions involving hundreds of crew members; and others still on intimate celebrations in unexpected venues, from a museum to a beach transformed into a dance floor. Some also design ceremonies associated with Vietnamese weddings, such as tea ceremonies and other traditional rituals, adapting them for couples from other countries and cultures.

The founders' own routes into planning are just as varied. One started out as a TV editor, another was asked to organise a friend's wedding while studying finance, and another founded a company after returning from a Master's degree in France. Together, they reflect an industry that has grown quickly and now attracts couples from around the world.

By Kiet Honey Wedding is a wedding planning and decoration company in Ho Chi Minh City with 13 years of experience. Founder Anh Kiet Truong started out as a TV editor, working behind the scenes of large-scale shows. For the team's first wedding, they drew inspiration from honeycomb charcoal and flowers. "The flowers blooming from something broken represented the struggles and wounds the couple had been through together. Their wedding day became a sweet ending to that journey."

The company's motto is "YOUR VISION - OUR CREATION," and its philosophy is as follows: "For us, every couple is different, and we find personalization through their love story." One of its largest projects was the Lesophia wedding, which covered more than 10,000 square metres, involved over 500 crew members and welcomed more than 1,600 guests. Around 40 tons of flowers and materials were produced and installed for the event within 10 days. Most new clients arrive through recommendations: "To us, that is one of the greatest signs of trust." Their dream venue is an unusual one: "a wedding inside a cave - a natural and truly unique setting."

Xuan Hoang's career in event planning began unexpectedly. While studying finance and banking, Xuan was asked to organise an intimate wedding for a friend, and fell in love with the experience. After assisting a freelance planner for a year, Xuan founded Meraki Wedding Planner nine years ago. The boutique studio now specialises in intimate celebrations and destination weddings. The studio's very first wedding took place at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, "one of the few weddings ever held by anyone in such a prominently iconic cultural venue."

Meraki Wedding Planner mainly works in luxury resorts and boutique venues in Da Nang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc and Da Lat. One of its most memorable weddings took place in Da Lat on a remote hillside during relentless rain. Almost every element had to be built from scratch, including the walkways, which had to be rebuilt as the weather changed. "We begin by listening - we do a lot of listening," says Xuan, and the advice to couples is simple: "Years later, you may forget the flowers or the table settings, but you will always remember how you felt and who was there to celebrate with you."

TP Wedding Planner

Phuong Phan has worked in the wedding industry for almost 10 years. For the first five years, Phuong was a freelancer, trying their hand at almost every role, from coordinator and stylist to sales consultant and marketer. In 2021, Phuong founded TP Wedding Planner in Hanoi. The name stands for "To Be Perfect," and, as Phuong explains, perfection is defined by the couple: "For us, perfection does not mean that everything has to be extravagant or flawless. It means listening carefully to what each couple wants, understanding their priorities and budget, and thoughtfully bringing all the details together so they can enjoy their wedding with peace of mind."

TP Wedding Planner takes on around 60 weddings a year, many at some of Vietnam's leading venues, including InterContinental Danang, and values honesty over easy answers: "We do not simply say yes to everything." One of the most memorable weddings that Phuong has planned was that of Megan and Matt. It began with a beach ceremony around a large, circular platform surrounded by flowers, and ended with a mini Tomorrowland-style rave after a dinner lit by red lanterns. Phuong's dream destination for a future wedding is Lake Como, Italy, and the advice to couples is to "choose your priorities early and don't try to have everything."

The Planners

Van Nguyen founded The Planners in 2016, after finishing her Master's degree in France. The company, which works across Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, describes itself as Vietnam's first certified premium wedding planning and design company. Its philosophy is "being an expert and bringing solutions." The first year back in Vietnam was challenging: "I experienced almost every failure a young startup and an amateur wedding planner could possibly face." Today, the motivation is clear: "I have become addicted to that very moment when our couples burst into happy tears."

The Planners offers two main services, wedding planning and wedding design, and works without predetermined packages or a signature aesthetic. It adapts to the market by incorporating tea ceremonies, traditional ceremonies and stationery design. The team has worked at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, the An Lâm Retreats Saigon River and the Ville de Mont Mountain Resort, as well as at international destinations. Its approach is clear: "We don't want to create a wedding that looks like a reflection of our work. We want to create one that feels unmistakably like the couple." When it comes to planning, couples are advised to "start with yourselves, rather than with what is trending."

Bayla

Bayla is a destination wedding planning company in Vietnam. It was founded by Tyra Tran, together with co-founders Huyen Phan and Tyler. The company's name has a story: it is "a word quoted from a traditional Vietnamese lullaby that bears the tranquility of Vietnamese nature." The brand focuses on "destination weddings which bring about that peaceful feeling while also showcasing Vietnam's natural scenic beauty and hospitality." The company's guiding principle is "being a companion and a trustworthy partner," and every couple's story is "the core thing that inspires us to create one-of-a-kind weddings that capture the very best of each couple."

Bayla believes "that every wedding should be a joyous occasion, not only for the couple but also for their guests." The team offers a range of services, including wedding planning, decoration and coordination. These services cover everything from venue search and budget management to stationery, accommodation and the wedding-day timeline. The cost per wedding ranges from $5,000 to $6,000. The company's work has been featured in Wedding Chicks, Junebug Weddings and Green Wedding Shoes, including an elopement in Ninh Binh. It has also worked at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort and the Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa.

The five planners come from different backgrounds: a TV studio, a university finance course, a career as a freelancer, a Master's degree and, in Bayla's case, a team of local planners. Yet the questions they ask first are strikingly similar. Most of them start by listening, and four of them, By Kiet Honey, Meraki, TP Wedding Planner and The Planners, give couples similar budget advice: decide early on what matters most and let the rest go.

The map of their work is also revealing. Three of them, TP Wedding Planner, The Planners and Bayla, have worked at the InterContinental Danang, while An Lâm Retreats Saigon is featured in the portfolios of By Kiet Honey and The Planners. At the other end of the scale are a museum ceremony, a hillside wedding in the rain and the dream of a wedding in a cave. Together, these examples demonstrate that couples can choose between a well-equipped resort and something far more unusual, and that planners are accustomed to making both options work.

The choice comes down to scale and style. Some are geared towards large-scale productions, others towards small, intimate celebrations, and several are happiest working across multiple cities. If Vietnam is on your list of potential wedding destinations, Wezoree is a good place to continue your search.
