A Modern Provençal Fairytale at Château Martina

Château Martinay caught the eye before anything else was decided. Built in the 18th century and surrounded by 35 hectares of Provençal nature, it carries that old-world French elegance that feels effortless rather than formal. Neoclassical architecture, quiet gardens, classical columns, a fountain courtyard - the kind of place that already has a story before anyone arrives to tell one.

That story became the foundation for a shoot that felt, from beginning to end, like stepping into a French film.

Where Every Turn Became Another Scene

What makes Château Martinay special is its variety. Every corner of the property offered a different atmosphere without ever losing its sense of harmony. The intimate backyard with its fountain and columns. The iconic front façade surrounded by lush gardens. The interiors, with their historic architecture, beautifully restored details and carefully chosen furniture, brought a warm and editorial quality to the portraits shot inside, while still keeping everything intimate and romantic. The whole property felt like it was designed to be moved through slowly, one setting giving way to the next.

The day unfolded as it should at a place like this: an outdoor ceremony surrounded by nature, and then a poetic dinner under the Provençal sky. Rebecca Marie Weddings and Workshops by Lark shaped the styling with pastel pink fabrics by Texstyles Studio, delicate floral arrangements by La Maison Dautel, and a refined table setting that sat softly within the landscape. Everything felt intentional without feeling staged.

Real Chemistry Inside a Styled World

This shoot was part of a photography workshop organized by Workshops by Lark, which brought together photographers to share their visions and experience the location together. Two real couples were part of the day: one Brazilian couple based in London, and another from Switzerland. Both brought their own energy, their own tenderness, and their own way of moving through the space.

What came through in the images wasn't performed romance. It was the real thing — playful, close, unguarded. Gioia Visuals captured it with the kind of attention that finds the moments between moments. Not just beautiful poses, but the laughter, the glances, the spontaneous things that happen when two people forget the camera is there.

Then Came the Ivory MGA

The classic ivory MGA convertible from Heritage Provence was the detail that pulled the whole story together. It added a cinematic, almost French movie feeling to the day — the couple driving around the château grounds, laughing, the car moving through the garden light in a way that felt completely unscripted. Those frames carry the feeling of the day more than almost anything else.

The Gowns Followed the Architecture

The bridal looks, designed by House of Savin and sourced through The One by Sinead Corcoran, moved between lace and clean silk, each gown chosen to work with the light and the château's architecture. Yulia Colta kept hair and makeup soft and natural. Stationery by Poetry Ink Atelier completed the finer details of the day. Quiet, poetic, and timeless. Old-world France, a little bit of cinema, and a lot of romance. That is what Château Martinay gives you when you let it.
