Our founder and lead designer, Charmain Chen was born in London, England, grew up in Hong Kong and has traveled extensively throughout her life. She now resides in Pasadena, CA along with her husband and two daughters. Charmain Chen first fell in love with flowers around the time of her own wedding. Starting this business nine years ago was a dream come true.

My husband and I hit the florist jackpot with Charmain and her team at Emblem Flowers! Finding amazing vendors that truly understand your vision is much trickier than expected, and the search can be a lot more stressful than finding the right dress. It's easy to be overwhelmed with options in a heavily saturated market, and it's even easier to surpass a budget you're comfortable with when it comes to fine-tuning all of the details for your day. Charmain put all of our floral decor worries to rest. She is incredibly kind, professional, thorough, and extremely determined to make your day look exactly how you envision while staying on your target budget. She is a creative powerhouse with a beautiful eye for design and ability to execute styles and colors in ways that look super elegant, natural and effortless (Emblem's website and Instagram page consistently show proof of this!) We felt so confident in Charmain after our first meeting that, after discussing a few ideas, we gave her free range to create centerpieces and arrangements that she felt would compliment every aspect of our wedding. Best decision we could've made, as Charmain and her team FAR exceeded our expectations and our guests still talk about how beautiful everything looked and tied together! We can't express enough how lucky we feel to have had Emblem Flowers work with us on our wedding day, and how much of a relief it was to have one less thing to worry about! :) There's no question that we will use them for all of our future parties, and hope you're able to work with this amazing team as well!
Charmain at Emblem was not only able to work within our limited budget, but exceeded our expectations by orders of magnitude. She was able to match our rather specific aesthetic sensibilities, and keep us at ease during what felt like a floral crisis.
I LOVED working with Charmaine. She was one of my favorite to work with for my wedding. She has great vision and is just so much fun to brainstorm because she has great suggestions that I wouldn't have come up with on my own (even after a ton of research online!). I trust her judgement because she takes the time to get to know me, my style preferences, and budget. The day of we had a small snafu (not her fault) and no one noticed except for us. She's also just a genuinely nice person and on top of her game. And her aesthetic is definitely on point, and nailed the colors and flowers I was seeking. I'd definitely recommend her to anyone looking to make their special day come alive through florals.
Charmain was an absolute dream! She and her team flawlessly executed my vision for wedding flowers and worked hard to get flowers I loved that were out of season and not readily available. Our guests couldn't stop complimenting her arrangements. We got so much amazing feedback! Charmain was so sweet, flexible and fun to work with. I couldn't imagine doing my wedding without her! Charmain from Emblem made my wedding day absolutely stunning and unique. As someone who knew basically nothing about flowers prior to getting married, I didn't understand how flowers could make or break the feel of a wedding. I trusted my planner that this was an area we'd want to invest in and I am SO GLAD I chose to work with Emblem. I walked in on the day of the wedding to find Charmain and team attaching the most beautiful vines to the ceiling of our reception. She even flew in flowers from Japan for my bridesmaids' bouquets! Her style is simple and elegant at first glance, but when you look deeper you can see her eye for design in the composition of her arrangements. Charmain is beyond talented and creative! She has incredible attention to detail and is so hardworking. Flowers were one of the most important aspects of our wedding day and she absolutely killed it. We found out about Emblem Flowers through our wedding planner who described her style as effortless, minimal, and classy which is so accurate. The flowers I envisioned for the wedding day were not easy to source but Charmain worked so hard to create floral arrangements more beautiful than I could ever imagine. Choosing Charmain and her team for our wedding day florals was the best decision we made and they did not disappoint.
