23 years I’ve been planning weddings since 2003, the industry looked very different back then! Funnily enough, it started with a Martha Stewart magazine. One of my closest friends and I were looking through it and everything was just so considered, so cohesive. Every detail tied together into something that felt complete. And then we looked at weddings in Hong Kong in 2003 and the gap was enormous. Weddings here were much more basic then. There was no through line, no unified vision. We thought someone should be doing what Martha Stewart was showing was possible. So we started. After some years, my partner left the company and I kept going. Our very first client had the surname Husband. We took it as a sign. It was a ceremony and dinner on the lawn of a country club in Hong Kong. We were so green we hadn’t even checked the weather forecast properly and it poured. Full thunderstorm and lightning. We made a mad scramble to a backup indoor space and somehow held it together.
