I am a South African born wedding and pre-wedding photographer based in Korea for the past 16 years. I have been photographing weddings for about 10 years, and I have been working full time in the industry for the past four years after completing my residency process and becoming fully established in Korea. My background is in interior design, which strongly influences the way I see light, architecture, and composition. I am attentive to space and movement. Living in Korea long term and working fluently in both English and Korean has allowed me to serve cross cultural and destination couples who want something different from the traditional wedding hall experience and fake wedding photos often found here.

I highly recommend Lorryn as a main wedding photographer for anyone who values authenticity, refined taste, and timeless results.
Lorryn’s creativity and talent were evident in every shot. She knew exactly how to make us feel comfortable and was stellar at finding the best lighting in so many different sceneries. The compositions of the photos she took were so stunning that many of our friends and family comment that it looks like we are in a movie.
If you're looking for an engagement photographer in Seoul. we recommend Lorryn. She goes above and beyond to make sure every moment is perfectly captured, and the results are nothing short of magical. Thank you, Lorryn, for making our engagement so memorable!
In looking for photo inspiration on what would have been a very unique wedding for Korea, I stumbled upon Lorryn’s engagement shoot photos and portfolio - and while my husband will tell you he and I were not a love at first sight story (at least on my end) that was certainly not the case with Lorryn’s photos. I was obsessed.
I could gush on and on about them and how they make me feel but if you’re here you’ve already seen them and they really do speak for themselves. You shouldn’t even really need a testimonial beyond that.
While we didn’t end up doing the wedding in Korea, we booked Lorryn for a super custom experience of joining us for part of our honeymoon in Korea/ Japan and not only capturing the dreamy scenic shots, and intimate moments she excels at, but some fun candid travel roaming moments as well.
She was so absolutely wonderful to work with from the initial intake call. Listening to my crazy ideas and visions and jumping on board. Taking care of so many above and beyond details and answering questions outside her scope of work. Just being an absolute joy and friend to join us on this amazing journey. It never felt like we were working with a vendor. We were hanging out and traveling with our new best friend and that kind of comfort and rapport is how you take awkward non-models and get the most gorgeous photos out of them.
We love Lorryn to absolute pieces and the world should know. Our photos are so deeply cherished and just the perfect capture of our love at this moment in our lives. Every couple would be so lucky to be blessed with something like this for themselves. I promise you’ll treasure it forever and never regret a single cent spent on Lorryn and love.
From our very first online meeting, we immediately clicked with Lorryn. Her approach is relaxed, kind and easygoing, yet at the same time highly professional. As the shooting day approached, both Lorryn and her assistant were incredibly supportive. They helped schedule all appointments for dress fittings, makeup and even a manicure upon my request. They also organised the flowers and were always available for questions, answering everything promptly and with genuine care.
On the day of the shoot, we were both quite nervous since we had never done a professional photoshoot before and truly had no idea how to pose or behave in front of a camera. But the moment we met Lorryn in person, that nervousness began to fade. She drove us safely across Jeju Island, sharing stories, laughter and music, and guiding us so gently during the shoot that it never felt like posing. In the end, all we really needed to do was relax, be ourselves and enjoy the moment in a beautiful place. Lorryn took care of the rest and brought the magic to life.
The day passed in what felt like an instant. It was exhausting, yes, but also unexpectedly meaningful and incredibly fun. Looking back, we would choose to book this experience with her again without hesitation. Not only for all the reasons mentioned above, but also because this experience unexpectedly helped us feel much better prepared for our wedding day photos (which we hope Lorryn will capture as well).
Thank you so much for everything, Lorryn!
The day went by so fast and so much of it felt like a blur, but we feel so lucky that she was able to capture all the moments that we will cherish forever. She was absolutely the hero of the day. One moment in particular stands out to me: When the hustle and bustle of getting ready was starting to reach a fever pitch, Lorryn sensed I was starting to get overwhelmed, so she whisked me away to a quiet, calm room to get ready and put on my dress. There had been a mixup and one of our guests were assigned the suite that we were supposed to get so she got the hotel staff to clean up the room. She made sure I had something to eat and drink and encouraged me to do a short meditation to calm down and be present. Lorryn truly went above and beyond.
Especially with having a cross cultural event in Korea with my Korean family and the groom's American family and our guests from both countries, her bilingual skills and deep experience made all the difference. She impressed all of our guests by switching seamlessly between speaking Korean and English. During the paebaek ceremony, again, Lorryn was the MVP. Because Korean weddings have become increasingly westernized, the paebaek ceremony has been less and less common so no one really knew what to do. My mom especially had negative associations with it because of the patriarchal vibe of "giving away" the bride to just the groom's family. Leading up to the wedding, Lorryn had helpful suggestions on how to make the tea ceremony inclusive and feminist and uniquely our own and during the ceremony, she gave us helpful pointers and gentle guidance so that we could focus on being present and having fun.
Thank you SO, so much, Lorryn. We are so grateful for you!
