Nikki is a true artist in every way shape and form. Hiring her as our wedding photographer (along with our planner Caitie) was one of the best decisions we made in our planning process.
We first got to hang out with Nikki during our engagement shoot. She came early to scope out the best hidden spots in Old Town Alexandria and the best lighting. We had a frantic afternoon and almost missed our session (missing cat crisis averted) and Nikki instantly put us at ease behind the camera. Nikki gets a mix of formal and informal moments that just felt like they effortlessly captured our personality as a couple. My husband is a bit shy behind a camera and felt entirely at ease with Nikki.
Nikki’s mix of mediums is absolutely priceless. She shot film, digital, and disposable film for our wedding day, which really allows us to lean into a variety of aesthetics. We wanted organic, cozy photos that emanated warmth and we got that and so much more. Nikki captures the gorgeous posed moments and all the moments in between. I also definitely had some artistic vision photos and we absolutely surpassed my expectations. Having her capture our rehearsal dinner was the best bonus and allowed us to document so many more memories.
Nikki constantly over delivers. Getting us previews in record time that allowed us to relive some of our favorite moments merely days later. On top of all of this Nikki is just a true joy to be around and the team she surrounds herself with is no exception. If you’ve read this far, I hope it’s clear to work with Nikki if you know what’s good for your wedding photos.

When we reached out to Nikki about shooting our Italian-inspired summer wedding, there was an instant connection. Not only is Nikki's work incredible and clearly captured everything we were looking for in our wedding photos, but she is also a fantastic human being! Having her as my constant support system on the big day was such a relief given her incredible expertise and warm presence. She helped us capture every shot / perspective we wanted from the wedding, and it clearly showed when we got our photos back. I would hire Nikki every time if I had to do it all over again! Definitely will be coming back to her in the future for maternity / family photo shoots, cannot recommend her enough!
When it came to hiring somebody to capture the memories of our big day, it was an easy decision! Nikki has done several family weddings and has captured many family moments over the last several years, and we couldn't have been more excited to be able to have her for ourselves. She is so fun, so easy to work with, and it goes without saying - so talented. Being able to look back on a tangible gift of the joy captured of our wedding is priceless. Thank you again Nikki!
Working with Nikki was a complete dream. When I was on the hunt for a photographer someone at the Local Coffee Shop, dropped her name. I quickly went home and googled her... I knew then I wanted her to photograph my wedding. I filled out the contact information and soon connected with Nikki. Her initial contact gave me the warm and fuzzies; she had read what I wrote in my email and made me feel like a friend instantly. We set a date and met for coffee. I enjoyed our meet up and knew she was the photographer for me. Fast forward to June 30th, wedding day. I was experiencing a bit of postpartum anxiety and Nikki knew exactly how to get me through it to have a most memorable day. It's still hard to choose a favorite photo from our time together. She not only captured generational photos with my mom, myself, and daughter but also moments I do not remember. I absolutely adored my time with Nikki and her assistant, Lauren. They were fun, captured everything I wanted and more, and made me feel at ease. My photos are timeless pieces and treasures that I will look back on. Nikki Santerre is a dream. She was without a doubt the best vendor I worked with for my wedding, and she was there every step of the way. She took on so much more than a typical photographer role— she truly cared about the process and was there to help curate my perfect day with suggestions if I needed, and an artful eye to help create a beautiful setting for photos. Nikki helped guide us through the perfect day, helping keep everything on track, on time, and organized. She put me at ease all day, worked brilliantly with the video team, beauty team, and everyone else involved. NOW LET’S TALK ABOUT THE PHOTOS — she captured everything I could ever imagine and more! She is a true artist and a master with lighting. Nikki has such a great eye for composition and provided both digital and film for special moments. I genuinely didn’t know how to choose which photos to frame or put in an album because there were hundreds of perfect photos. That is rare, and makes it worth the investment. I was also glad to invest in her heirloom albums which are beautiful and priceless. I’m so glad I worked with Nikki, and she became so much more than just a vendor, she became a friend. Hire her now!
Nikki has been a dream to work with! While she was unable to shoot our actual wedding day due to bringing her own new little one into the world, she hired her colleague who was so talented, and assured us she had a great plan even though she couldn't be there herself. She is still the one editing all the photos and making them the gorgeous Nikki Santerre style we fell in love with when we booked her. She delivered our sneak peek within one day, and I'm already obsessed with those photos!!! I can't wait to see the rest of the collection. Thank you for a stress free experience, and stunning photos so we can remember our day forever!
Words cannot express our gratitude and appreciation for Nikki. As a COVID bride, we had to reschedule our wedding four times. Despite the changes made to our big day, she still captured every single moment exactly how it felt. We didn't feel pressured or rushed - instead Nikki took the time to "create an experience" with every moment of the day. Her pictures are beautiful, but more importantly Nikki is a beautiful person who will create a one of a kind experience!
