When I was fourteen, I came across a book about Ansel Adams and fell in love. Not in the way I fell in love with my musician husband, of course. I fell in love with the way Ansel Adams saw things through the viewfinder, the patience he showed waiting for just the right light to fall across Half Dome in Yosemite and his impeccable sense of perspective and composition. He processed film in the darkroom (no digital cameras back then), and so did I when I first started shooting. I actually had a darkroom in my little apartment
I am drawn to wedding and lifestyle photography because it is so personal and allows me to tell the unique story of each client, many of whom have become friends. I look for people who are adventurous, free spirited and who love the outdoors and nature and choose me because they truly appreciate my art, as opposed to those who are shopping around for the cheapest deal.
