Jason was wonderful to work with! He shot our engagement photos and our wedding photos, and I was so happy with the pictures when we got them. His work stands out from the endless line of pink and white and bright that I almost drowned in while looking for a photographer. He also got some great pictures of my dad during the first look, which became especially precious after my dad passed away a few months after the wedding. I cannot recommend Jason enough!

My best friend gifted us with an engagement session with Jason Smelser Photography. Jason was a wonderful person to work with. He responded to my questions before the photo session in a timely matter. Jason was patient with my labradoodle and captured awesome photos with us three. We had fun during our photo session, and he did send us a sneak peek quickly after. We highly recommend his service to our friends.

Jason is AMAZING. He went above and beyond to capture our wedding day and my bridals, and delivered the most beautiful photos. He truly exceeded all our expectations. On top of being such a talented photographer, he's super friendly and makes you feel totally comfortable in front of the camera. He's also very responsive and was always available to answer our questions. If you want gorgeous photos and a super professional photographer, go with Jason!! You won't regret it. We are so glad we got to work with him, and that he was the one to capture our most special day!

Jason was the best wedding photographer we could have ever asked for. We saw his work and immediately knew we had to have him. We are so pleased with everything he's done. He did the best engagement shoot I've ever seen (not that I'm biased, or anything), worked with us as we changed dates and venues because of the pandemic, and made our small covid wedding the beautiful, fantastical event we always wanted. We will be looking at our pictures for years and years to come. Highly recommend Jason for any event.

Jason was spectacular! I am so glad I chose him to be the photographer for our wedding. He was so caring and passionate about his work, as well as his clients. During our engagement photo session (I opted out of the bridal session), he found us the best locations (and I mean THE BEST!) on such short notice since we were only in town for a week (long distance wedding). We had so many people comment that our shoot looked like a magazine photo shoot. Even the people who were driving by while we were posing! They turned out amazing and better than I ever could have imagined. I never thought I was photogenic until Jason came along. He 100% changed my mind. He worked with us across the country to make sure our wedding was set up to be everything we ever wanted. On the day, he showed up early and with another photographer, who was fantastic. They covered every inch of the venue as well as every moment my husband and I had getting ready and having fun with our bridal parties. As important as it is, they made sure they were unnoticeable during the wedding (didn't get in the middle of the isle like I've seen some photographers do), yet he still got every photo I ever would have wanted from multiple angles. He was so kind and gentle with the families during the family photos, yet firm so we could move through everyone quickly. It was perfect, because I have a loud, crazy Italian family and I didn't think anyone could ever wrangle them together, but he managed, somehow! Our pictures with our bridal party looked like they came straight out of vogue. Even our venue asked us if they could submit our photos to wedding magazines on our behalf. I was thrilled! The photo book he provides afterward is of THE best quality. I've never had something so beautiful. The pages are seamless (pun intended). His eye for the art of the pictures and the important moments of the festivities are key. In the same package, he also sent me the gorgeous USB drive and case with all of our pictures. Wow! This package was probably the most beautiful thing I've ever received in my 30 years on this planet. If you're looking for someone who is well versed in the art of photography, who understands weddings to a T, and you want the best possible photos imaginable, choose Jason. You won't be disappointed. I'll be forever grateful for Jason and his amazing abilities to capture each moment of my big day with an immaculate touch as a photographer.

Absolutely loved working with Jason. We met in person and I could tell that he really loved what he does and it really showed in his work! We booked Jason before COVID and had to change the date, Jason worked with us and was really responsive when we were talking about which dates to switch to. Jason showed up early on the wedding day and was super professional the whole day. He stuck with the contract and gave us all of our edited photos within 3 months of the wedding. And they were all really great and we are so happy with how he captured us and our love on the wedding day! He also sent us a thumb drive and printed out a few of his favorite pictures for us! If we were to do this over again I would definitely book Jason again!!

Working with Jason was so amazing! Originally, we had booked Jason for photography services for a large wedding for March 2021, but when the pandemic hit we had a change of plans. Jason was so flexible and was able to accommodate to our new plan to elope. Communication was seamless, and he was always very quick to respond to any questions I had. On the day of our wedding, Jason was timely and very organized. He had so many amazing ideas, but also listened to our vision. He helped capture exactly what we were going for. He gave great directions on how to pose, where to stand, etc. and the end product was even better than what we hoped for! We are so pleased with our pictures and are extremely happy we were able to work with Jason!

We were SO fortunate to have Jason's talent, ideas, kindness, direction, partnership, and flexibility throughout our planning process and our wedding day!! As we perused Jason's website, my husband and I eagerly hoped that Jason would be able to be a part of our day as it's obvious he has a great eye in bringing out the beauty of even the most simple things (and we were planning a VERY simple wedding). However, Jason blew us even more away (which I didn't think was even possible bc let's be honest... his work is STUNNING) by how wonderful it was to work with him. Jason was SO generous and gracious with his time with us - from his quick responsiveness to every email to his patience with every question to researching/recommending parks to us that we could get married at to giving detailed guidance/wisdom on what to look for in parks to even staying with us longer on our wedding day to catch some shots during the golden hour. He was SO integral in helping make our hazy, half-hazard vision turn into a GORGEOUS reality. He even generously gave us extra photos of our wedding day!!! Even more, Jason was also extremely understanding, supportive, and flexible when we had to last-minutely switch dates!! Also, my husband and I were a bit anxious about how natural we would look in front of the camera, however Jason quickly put us at ease through his clear direction, encouragement, and great personality. Getting to work with Jason was such a highlight and a gift for us throughout the wedding planning process and on our special day!! Thank you, Jason, for everything!!

Absolutely loved working with Jason! He did my engagement photos and my fiance and I couldn't be more pleased. Everything is pretty much outlined on his website, which I appreciate all the details being upfront, especially when first searching for a photographer. He was quick to answer my emails and gave me a lot of good advice. He is very professional and also personable. He's great at giving direction during photos, so that you can feel comfortable in front of the camera. Got all my photos in a timely manner and can't wait to work with him again!

FANTASTIC! Our wedding day was so intense and everything went so fast and all you can hope for is to have a good photographer to make the great moments last. Well...he exceeded all of our expectations! He made us feel so comfortable, directed us when needed, and made taking pictures so much fun! It’s very clear he loves what he does because it shows in the photos! When looking for a photographer I wanted someone who could direct (because I am terrible at posing), make the photos bright but also whimsical ,elegant, and passionate all at once. And he hit it RIGHT on the nail. No regrets with him at all! Best decision hands down for our special day.

My husband and I chose Jason as our engagement and wedding photographer after TONS of research, conversations with other photographers and sifting through a ridiculous amount of portfolios. We loved the way his photos captured movement, mood, light and feeling, not to mention his editing skills are off the charts. Jason was more than willing to do whatever it took during our engagement session so that we could get "THE" shot(S) and was over accommodating in making sure all of our visions became a reality. He also provided teasers so quickly so that we could relive the day and always seemed so excited to share his work (which is no surprise because it's incredible). Jason was an absolute pleasure to work with. he was so calm, relaxed, easy-going and so creative. his photos capture true personality and you can feel the emotion through the photos. I had so much fun doing our engagement shoot, bridal portraits, and wedding day photos with him and I know for a fact that I could not have chosen a better photographer to trust. i’ve never had professional pictures taken before but the confidence that he allowed me to feel during my bridal portraits made me look like a natural. he is such a kind and genuine soul on top of his talent. he made me feel calm and relaxed during some stressful moments and was always a positive and calming light of energy throughout the hectic moments of wedding day and wedding planning. What can I say about Jason.  He was the best photographer we could have picked.  We used him for our engagement photos and wedding and omg the pictures are amazing.  Every single person who sees our pictures tell us the same thing.  He captured our aesthetic perfectly but of course you have to choose a photographer with the editing style you prefer.  He was so fun to work with and a great communicator.  We just got married on 9/4/22 and he had a few sneak peeks for us the very next day.  I even told him at the end of our wedding night how sad I was that it was the last time we’ll ever work with him lol.  Photography is such an important vendor to choose for one of the biggest days of your life so do the research, interview your people, and pay attention closely to their portfolio.  We made the best decision choosing Jason and I would 10000% recommend him to anyone going for the moody/dramatic editing style.  I’ll let our pictures speak for themselves.
