Love Story

“I was a girl from Miami living in Savannah for college, and he was from Manchester, UK, there for only a few months.”That’s the short version. The long one involves a drink sent across a bar, a canceled second date, a year of silence, and a pandemic that brought them back together before they had gone on a real date.
Stefany and Tobias first met in January 2019 at Rogue Water Tap House in Savannah, Georgia. She was a freshman at SCAD studying Fashion Marketing; he was in town temporarily for work in the superyacht industry. A bartender delivered a drink on his behalf. She walked over to thank him. They exchanged numbers, made plans, and then life intervened. Tobias left Savannah shortly after, and they lost touch though they kept following each other on social media.
In March 2020, as the pandemic began, he reached out again. From that moment, they spoke every day—phone calls, FaceTimes, an entire year of being close while physically apart, him quarantined in the UK, her between Savannah and Miami. In March 2021, they finally met in person for their first real date. They have been together ever since.
The proposal came in August 2024, on a beach in Aruba at sunset — a place that had been woven into Stefany’s life since before she was born. Her parents had bought a timeshare there when they got married; her mother was pregnant with her on their very first trip. Tobias proposed with her parents present, on an island full of her happiest childhood memories. “The combination of family, nostalgia, and such a meaningful place made it feel absolutely perfect.”

About Your Wedding

A year and a half of planning, 40 guests, and a vision Stefany had carried since she was a teenager. The concept was clear from the start: classic, timeless, and romantic with a modern twist. An intimate garden wedding under a beautifully designed tent, surrounded by nature, warm and elegant for everyone who traveled from the USA, the UK, Venezuela, and Australia to be there.The hardest decision of the entire planning process was the tent. They changed the design three times before finding the one that matched the vision exactly. Everything else, Stefany says, she had already imagined in detail long before planning officially started. “I am an extremely creative person, so I had already imagined every detail long before planning officially started. For me, the most important part was finding the right team that could truly understand and bring that vision to life.” That team was Alejandro Limón and Rafa Alvarado — and they understood immediately.

Morning Details

The morning began in the bridal suite at Rancho Las Sabinas, surrounded by the women who mattered most: Stefany’s mother, Mercedes; her bridesmaids Alexa, Maria Gabriela, and Isabella; and two of her mother’s closest friends, Helena and Claudia. The jewelry on the dressing table told a story building for decades.
“My mom gifted me aquamarine stones that belonged to my grandmother, turned into earrings and a ring. A very meaningful way to carry her with me.” Both pieces were designed by Gabriela Asuaje of Gar Diamonds — a longtime family friend who also designed the wedding rings. The stationery, from save-the-dates to matchboxes to bar menus, was handled entirely by White Paper Stationery, whose work ran through every paper detail of the day with the same cohesion as everything else.

Bride Getting Ready

Two months, several fittings, one Vera Wang Haute Couture gown. Stefany knew herself well enough to know what she was looking for and was patient enough to wait until she found it at Ever After in Miami. The dress came with a matching veil, and she completed the look with Manolo Blahnik heels in pastel blue, chosen deliberately to complement her grandmother’s aquamarines and the blue hydrangea bouquet waiting for her.
That bouquet deserves its own sentence. “My bouquet was made of blue hydrangeas to honor my grandmother, Hortensia. Hydrangea is ‘hortensia’ in Spanish, which makes it even more meaningful since it is also my middle name.” It was designed by Alcatraz in Mexico—delicate, personal, and carrying more meaning than any single flower arrangement should reasonably hold.
Bridesmaids wore dresses of their own choosing in different bright colors, vibrant, individual, and entirely cohesive in the way that only works when everyone involved has good taste.

Groom Getting Ready

Tobias got ready in the bridal suite at Rancho Las Sabinas in a Calvin Klein tuxedo — classic, precise, and exactly right for a garden wedding at one of San Miguel de Allende’s most beautiful properties. The gardens outside were already in full bloom, the tent already being dressed in the lighting that would later make it feel like golden hour indoors, and somewhere in the same building, Stefany was getting into a dress he hadn’t seen yet.

First Look

The first look happened in the entryway between the garden and the living area of the villa — and Stefany’s account of it is entirely characteristic of who she is. “I was so excited to hear his reaction and to finally see him after being apart for half the day. I immediately gave him a big hug.” Tobias thought she looked beautiful and that the dress was very much her style. Half a day apart, and then the entryway, the dress, and the hug she had been saving since morning.

Before the guests arrived, Rancho Las Sabinas belonged entirely to them. “We did the couple portraits at Rancho Las Sabinas before the guests arrived since the property has insanely beautiful gardens and architecture.” The light, the florals, the architecture, all of it already arranged, extraordinary, and theirs.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the garden by the pool — Stefany walked down the aisle to Young & Beautiful by Lana Del Rey, Tobias walked down to Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez, a song he says reminds him of them. Their closest friend, Mathew Gonzalez, served as the ring bearer.
They had both written their own vows. Stefany had told herself she wasn’t going to cry. “The second he began speaking, I completely lost it.” And in the middle of it all, she looked over and saw her father in tears. “There was a very special moment when Tobias was saying his vows that I looked over and saw my dad in tears as well.” Forty guests, a garden in bloom, and a ceremony where nobody managed to stay dry-eyed.

I wanted a beautiful garden wedding.” After the ceremony, the gardens of Rancho Las Sabinas opened up around them — the same flowers, the same light, the same space that had been the vision since she was fifteen. Finally, completely real.

Wedding Venue & Decor

She had been saving it on Pinterest since she was 15. “I instantly showed Tobias, and luckily, he loved it as much as I did when I was 15.” Rancho Las Sabinas, in San Miguel de Allende, with insanely beautiful gardens and architecture that had been waiting patiently for exactly this wedding.
The color palette was vibrant florals with ivory accents, lush, alive, and entirely in keeping with the garden setting. The tent, redesigned three times before reaching its final version, became one of the most talked-about elements of the day. The lighting inside did something nobody anticipated: “When guests entered the tent, the lighting created the feeling of a sunset happening indoors, which made the atmosphere feel magical.” A garden wedding that glowed from the inside.

Reception

The first dance was to A Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay — chosen together, meaningful to both of them. The reception that followed delivered on every promise the day had made: espresso martinis, Aperol spritz, tequeños served in honor of Venezuelan wedding tradition, and Tommy & Jerry’s Mango Margarita — a signature cocktail named after their two dogs, made with their dogs’ favorite fruit. In place of a wedding cake, a Venezuelan-style mini dessert table, because in Venezuela, as Stefany explains, the dessert table is one of the most important parts of the wedding.

The video team from TAN Weddings worked alongside them with the same quiet professionalism — there when they needed to be, invisible when they didn't, and the result is a film that gives the day back exactly as it felt.
