Love Story
It was 2016, and neither of them was expecting anything beyond a business meeting. Nouva and Hary crossed paths professionally - the kind of introduction that happens dozens of times in a career and usually amounts to nothing more than a business card and a follow-up email. This one was different. “What started as a professional connection turned into a friendship, and eventually into love,” Nouva recalls. The shift happened gradually, almost without either of them noticing, until it was simply undeniable.
About a year after that first meeting, they became a couple. Eight years later, they were standing together at the Magical Circle at Six Senses Uluwatu, surrounded by sixty of the people closest to them. One ordinary business meeting had quietly changed the direction of both their lives.
About Your Wedding
Sixty guests. The people they had known the longest, loved the most, and wanted closest to them on a day this significant. Nouva and Hary weren’t interested in a large celebration - what they wanted was something intimate, beautiful, and genuinely theirs. The style was modern and elegant, with a palette of silver, purple, and white. Mirrored elements created reflective surfaces throughout the space, and Nouva had made one specific request from the beginning: a mirrored aisle, so that the blue Bali sky would become part of the ceremony itself rather than just a backdrop.
Bali wasn’t a coincidence. It was the place they kept returning to, the place that held layers of their story - and when Hary proposed at The Ritz-Carlton Bali, with unexpected fireworks making the moment even more memorable, they both knew without question that their wedding would happen here too.
Morning Details
Before the ceremony, there were bridesmaids, bouquets, and a dress that took three versions to get exactly right.
The invitations and stationery were designed by House of Papeterie, who translated the couple’s visual concept into elegant, personal pieces. Keepsake pieces, including customized mementos, were provided by Truffypi. The wedding rings, selected during a trip to Korea, were chosen from a specific jeweler: Hary’s is intentionally simple and understated, while Nouva’s is a solitaire diamond paired with a delicate, sparkly band. As a fragrance creator, Nouva knew from the start that the wedding souvenir had to be a custom perfume. They created eight scents, produced by Nouva’s fragrance studio, inspired by their eight-year journey together, making each bottle a keepsake that carries the whole story.
Bride Getting Ready
Nouva spent the morning with her bridesmaids - her most reliable companions and, by her own account, the biggest mood-lifters of the entire day. Their getting-ready photos were taken at the Presidential Villa at Six Senses Uluwatu.
The ceremony dress was designed by Cindy Tandiyah, whose work Nouva had long admired, particularly her use of liquid fabric and its movement. The process was anything but straightforward. “With each revision, we removed more details rather than adding them,” Nouva recalls. Three design versions, finalized just two weeks before the wedding. In the end, the result was exactly what she had been working toward: “I wanted the dress to feel understated yet unforgettable, soft and flowing while still having structure.” For accessories, she kept everything minimal - solitaire diamond earrings, a plain veil, classic shoes. The dress was designed to speak quietly, and she let it.
For the ceremony, Sandat Florist arranged fully bloomed violet tulips - soft, romantic, and slightly unexpected. For the reception, floral arrangements by Nouva featured deep purple calla lilies accented with silver beads, bold and refined in equal measure, and perfectly suited to the evening ahead. Bridesmaids’ dresses were designed by Studio Renate.
Groom Getting Ready
Hary’s morning had a different rhythm entirely. While Nouva was surrounded by bridesmaids and the particular energy that comes with a bridal suite in full motion, Hary spent his hours in the other wing of the Presidential Villa with his best man, Brilliant - a friend who had been part of his life long enough to understand when to talk and when to simply be present. Hary’s tuxedo was designed by Samuel, master tailor at Wong Hang - a bespoke atelier he had trusted for years, having commissioned countless suits from their Jakarta studio. For a decision this important, looking elsewhere never really entered the conversation. The morning was calm, unhurried, and exactly the kind of quiet he needed before everything that was about to begin.
First Look
Their first look took place on the villa's deck at Six Senses Uluwatu, overlooking the ocean, with nothing but the sound of waves and the open sky around them. Before they saw each other, there was a moment nobody had planned on - Brilliant disguised himself as the bride as a surprise for Hary. It was completely unexpected, instantly dissolved the nerves, and gave everyone a genuine laugh before the real moment arrived.
Then came the letters. They had each written one, and they read them quietly before meeting for the first time. “The letters reminded us of our journey together, where we started, everything we had gone through, and how we arrived at that day.” By the time they actually faced each other on that deck above the Indian Ocean, there wasn’t much left to say. The letters had already said it.
Photoshoot Before The Ceremony
With the getting-ready rooms behind them and the ceremony still ahead, Nouva and Hary had a brief window that belonged entirely to the two of them. No guests, no schedule pressing in yet - just the Presidential Villa, the Uluwatu coastline below, and the particular stillness that settles over a wedding day in the hour before it properly begins. It was the last moment of that morning version of the day, before sixty people arrived and the Magical Circle became the center of everything.
Ceremony
The Magical Circle at the Presidential Villa of Six Senses Uluwatu was the venue they kept returning to in their minds after every other viewing. From the very first visit, something about the space felt immediately right - and after seeing other options, the comparison kept resolving in the same direction. “From the very first visit, we fell in love with the venue,” Nouva says. “There was something special about the space that immediately felt right.” Eventually, the comparison became the answer.
Nouva walked down the mirrored aisle to an instrumental version of A Thousand Years - a song that had always carried emotional weight for her, and one that felt, in that moment, like it was holding eight years of shared history rather than just a single wedding day. The smoke effects they had originally planned for the first kiss couldn’t happen for safety reasons, so they chose a shower of flower petals instead. It turned out to be the right call. “Standing there surrounded by our family and friends, it felt like we were being showered not only with petals, but also with their love, support, and happiness for us.”
Photoshoot After The Ceremony
The ceremony had just ended, sixty people were still gathering themselves after the moment, and Nouva and Hary stepped away for a few quiet minutes that belonged only to them. First portraits as husband and wife - on the same clifftop that had drawn them to Six Senses from the beginning, with the Indian Ocean spread out below and the afternoon light doing what Bali light does best. There was no rush. The reception was waiting, but this was the exhale between two parts of the day, and they took it slowly.
Wedding Venue & Decor
The Magical Circle at Six Senses Uluwatu held the entire celebration - ceremony, reception, and everything in between. The color palette ran silver, purple, and white throughout: silver and mirrored elements creating reflective surfaces that caught the Bali light, purple adding richness and depth, and white balancing everything with a clean, classic feel. The mirrored aisle Nouva had requested from the beginning did exactly what she had imagined - the sky above became part of the ceremony itself, visible in the surface beneath every step.
As a fragrance creator, Nouva created a custom perfume for each guest. Eight scents for eight years - a souvenir that carried the entire story of the couple in a single bottle, something guests would take home and open long after the day itself was over.

Reception
Their first dance was to "Crazier" by Ysabelle Cuevas - an independent singer on YouTube whose cover version felt romantic, intimate, and exactly right for the atmosphere they wanted that evening. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they chose a piñata cake from Sweetsalt, a bakery known for creative desserts, meant to be cracked open rather than cut. It was fun, unexpected, and brought a genuinely playful moment into a celebration that had otherwise been elegant and emotional throughout.

Isabella, the Wedding Organizer, handled everything behind the scenes so seamlessly that Nouva and Hary were able to stay fully present from beginning to end. And Kris and the team from Axioo captured not just the events, but the emotions and the quiet moments in between - the ones that tend to disappear first from memory and matter most when you go back to look.
