JC Bespoke Events on Making Every Island Celebration Personal

A degree in Events Management in London led, eventually, to a career built entirely on islands - Ibiza, Mallorca, and Menorca, plus selected corners of mainland Spain. Fifteen years in, the founder behind JC Bespoke Events plans weddings there for couples from Indian, Lebanese, Nigerian, Jewish, and South American backgrounds, among many others - each one seeking a celebration that reflects who they are rather than a template borrowed from somewhere else. 

From Events Management in London to a Career on the Islands

“Being Swedish has shaped the way I see design. I love clean, timeless aesthetics, but above all, I believe luxury is how a celebration makes people feel. Beautiful details matter, but it’s the atmosphere, warmth, and sense of connection that people remember.”

The path started in a classroom, not on a beach. "I studied Events Management in London before moving to Ibiza to begin my career in luxury events," the founder tells. "Weddings quickly became my passion because they combine everything I love - creativity, logistics, design, and bringing people together. I realized early on that I had a real talent for creating highly personal, once-in-a-lifetime celebrations, and I've never looked back."

What keeps the work rewarding after fifteen years isn't the design work itself, but who it's designed for. "The people. Every couple is different, and I love getting to know not only them but their families and cultures too," they explain.

That allows us to create celebrations that feel deeply personal, while also giving me the opportunity to be creative and design experiences that guests will remember for years.

A Process Built to Last 12 to 18 Months

At JC Bespoke Events, they take their time with planning, and you can see that in their timeline. "Our planning process typically spans between 12 and 18 months," the founder explains. "We begin by really getting to know our couples, understanding who they are, how they entertain and what they want their guests to experience. From venue sourcing and guest management through to invitations, design, production, and every logistical detail, we guide our clients through every step. Our goal is always to create a celebration that feels completely bespoke rather than following a formula."

That much lead time still doesn't guarantee control over everything. "The weather will always be the one thing we can't control," they note. "Whether it's unexpected rain, strong winds, or extreme heat, having thorough contingency plans and staying calm under pressure is one of the most important parts of our job."

Inside the timeline itself, the advice is less about fitting more in and more about protecting the space in between. "Don't try to fit too much into one day," the founder says. "The best weddings have moments to pause, breathe, and simply enjoy being together. Allowing enough time for guests to relax often creates the most memorable moments." The same instinct carries over into how they advise couples to approach the design itself. "Don't plan your wedding around trends," they add.

It's wonderful to take inspiration, but the most beautiful celebrations are the ones that genuinely reflect who you are as a couple. Trends come and go, but a wedding that feels authentic will always feel timeless.

The Creative Partners and Venues Behind Every Wedding

Ask about the people JC Bespoke Events builds a wedding team with, and a few names come up often - though never as a fixed list.

"I'm incredibly fortunate to work with some exceptional creative partners. Lauren Campbell of Solol, our Design & Decoration Manager, Mireya from Aurea Floral Studio, and Nick Barnett of Crisp Catering are all incredibly talented. That said, we don't work exclusively with any suppliers; every wedding is unique, and we always build the team around each individual couple and their vision," the founder says.

Venues get a similarly long, enthusiastic answer. "There are far too many to choose from!" they say. "This season I'm particularly excited to be working with Castell Son Claret and Can Simoneta in Mallorca, both of which combine exceptional service with beautiful surroundings. I also love Fincadelica and Six Senses Ibiza, as well as Cap Rocat and Four Seasons in Mallorca. Menorca also has some incredible venues, including Experimental, Amagatay, Torralbenc, Cap Menorca, and Lithica. Each offers something completely different, which is exactly what makes destination weddings so exciting."

After working with dozens of couples over 15 years, the founder finds this question difficult to answer and approaches it with care.

"That's probably the hardest question!" they say. "I've been incredibly lucky to work with such wonderful couples over the years, many of whom have become lifelong friends. One wedding that will always stand out was Bella Hunter and Gary Friedman's celebration at Six Senses Ibiza. It was an extraordinary experience to create and remains one of the most memorable weddings we've ever produced."

Beyond the islands and the venues, there's a thread running through JC Bespoke Events' work that the founder considers central to it.

"One of the things I love most about my work is bringing different cultures together," they reflect.

We specialise in multicultural destination weddings and have planned celebrations for couples and families from all over the world, including Indian, Lebanese, Nigerian, Jewish, South American and many beautifully blended cultural backgrounds. Every culture brings its own traditions, and it's a privilege to weave those into celebrations that feel both meaningful and completely unique.
