Romania is a country with a centuries-old visual culture, stunning natural landscapes, and a photography scene that has been steadily growing for over a decade. Its photographers are especially good at capturing these kinds of images. At Wezoree, we’ve spent years watching this field and have found five photographers who do this better than anyone else. Let’s introduce them.

Tutu Ionatan Foto

Fifteen years of photographing weddings across Romania and internationally have shaped Tutu Ionatan Foto into a photographer whose work combines the sophistication of editorial photography with documentary storytelling. Hundreds of weddings, dozens of cultures, and a consistent conviction, as he puts it: images should remain beautiful and emotionally relevant for decades, not just for the season they were taken.

"What I enjoy most is the privilege of documenting meaningful moments and genuine human connections," he says. His approach is calm and collaborative, creating an environment relaxed enough for sincere emotions to emerge naturally, rather than under pressure. Italy holds a special place in his work for its timeless elegance and light, alongside Portugal, France, and Lake Como, each offering its own romantic character. Destination weddings are a significant part of his practice, and the diversity of cultures and landscapes he encounters continues to shape how he sees.

Before every wedding, they take time to talk with the couple, get to know them, and arrive already understanding their vision, rather than figuring it out on the day. Maya and Victor work together as ByDarii, a husband-and-wife team with more than 15 years of experience in professional wedding photography.

Editorial photojournalism with a timeless, modern finish that feels sophisticated but never over-polished, always rooted in real emotion. Italy is especially meaningful in its destination work. Places like Lake Como, Lake Garda, and Rome stand out for their beautiful light, stunning architecture, and the unique couples who are drawn to them. They say this long foundation has given them something special: the freedom to be truly creative. Their sense of style, how they compose each shot, and what they choose to capture all match the current spirit of wedding photography. "We want the images to feel alive, to hold the details, the atmosphere, the in-between moments that make a wedding day irreplaceable," they say.

Claudiu Veres

His style focuses on editorial and portrait photography, creating natural, minimalist images that blend refined aesthetics with real emotion. Claudiu Veres studied economics, earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees, and worked in a traditional job before turning to photography. More than 15 years later, he still actively nurtures this inner passion. "The moment a photographer loses that inner excitement and emotional connection to the craft, it becomes difficult to create meaningful images or to truly see beauty in the moments unfolding in front of them," he says.

He meets with every couple three times before their wedding day. First, there is a video call, then they sign the contract and create the timeline together. The last meeting happens in person during the week of the wedding. Alongside wedding photography, he has run his own studio for the past five years, continuously exploring new styles beyond events. Lake Como is his favorite destination, Italy in general a constant source of inspiration, though he stays open to wherever the next story takes him.

Marius Migles started photographing weddings in 2018 using the name Soulseeker, which reflects his creative style. He is especially interested in moments that often go unnoticed, like quiet emotions, spontaneous laughter, and how people interact when they think no one is watching.

His work combines a documentary storytelling style with a professional eye. He captures weddings as they actually are, paying special attention to lighting, movement, and atmosphere. "Weddings, in particular, are full of moments that cannot be recreated: the subtle in-betweens, the quiet anticipation, the bursts of laughter, the way people connect when they think no one is watching. I’m drawn to those moments more than anything else," Marius says. Before every wedding, he talks with the couple to understand their story and their relationship, not just what they want visually, but also what emotions they want to feel when looking back at their photos.

AncaVirlan

AncaVirlan has been a recognized professional in wedding photography for over 9 years, and her approach starts with a simple yet honest belief that the most important memories of your life shouldn't be photographed by a complete stranger. For Anca, building a real relationship with each couple always comes first. Authentic storytelling in her photos is not just about showing up and taking pictures. She believes it starts with truly getting to know the people in front of the camera so she can tell their story honestly. Personally, she describes herself as a believer, wife, and mom who loves life, dogs, summer, the sea, and people with a good sense of humor. That warmth shines through in the way she works.

Some wedding photos are so powerful that you forget you’re just looking at a picture. It feels like you’re right there in the room, experiencing every moment again. These five photographers have captured weddings in Romania, Italy, France, Portugal, and many other places, consistently delivering a high level of skill at each event.
