History Wasn't the Backdrop. It Was the Design System

Château de Farcheville was built in 1291. That is the first thing worth knowing about it, because it is the fact from which everything else in this editorial follows.
Rather than treating the château as a beautiful backdrop, lead photographer and creative director The Wedd Destination chose to let its history shape every decision. The medieval atmosphere, the equestrian heritage, the cobblestone courtyards, the chapel, the great hall with its tapestries and frescoed walls all became part of the story rather than simply part of the setting.

The Château Was the Brief
From above, Château de Farcheville reveals itself as something almost impossibly complete: a fortified medieval estate surrounded by a moat, set within a forest, its architecture barely changed by the centuries. Inside, the great hall carries painted walls, stone fireplaces, iron chandeliers, and terracotta floors that have absorbed hundreds of years of history. The chapel stands in the courtyard beside it. The horses have always been part of the estate.
Working with this kind of location requires restraint. The team chose a predominantly white and ivory palette throughout, allowing the architecture to remain the visual center of every frame.
The Cross Became the Floor Plan
The most deliberate creative choice of the entire editorial was the reception table. Rather than a conventional long table or round arrangement, it was designed in the shape of the Cross of Jesus, a direct reference to the medieval heritage of the château and a way of continuing its story through the decoration. White and ivory linens, elegant floral arrangements by Mes Bulles Déco and Dialogue Floral Wedding, and candlelight running the full length of the cross filled the great hall with a warmth that felt entirely native to the space.
Tableware by Les Petites Germaines and stationery by Atelier Organic completed the setting. The wedding cake by Joël és Gâteaux, a sculptural tower of white pearl detailing, stood as its own architectural statement inside the hall.
The Styling Knew When to Stay Quiet
The bridal looks moved between three distinct moments. The first dress from The Bride Paris and the second from Sima Couture Paris brought softness and sophistication to the medieval surroundings. The evening look, a long-sleeved lace gown from L’Atelier du Peignoir Paris, brought something more intimate and personal, entirely suited to the candlelit hall. Roger Vivier shoes and rings from Mad Lords introduced a high-fashion dimension without pulling the eye away from the architecture. Jewelry by Sohelo Bijoux Mariage completed the looks. The groom’s suit by Rives Paris offered a classic counterpoint to the more expressive bridal styling.
Hair and makeup by Richard Hairdresser kept the beauty direction elegant and timeless throughout.
The Horses Were Never Props
The equestrian heritage of Château de Farcheville was not a detail to be photographed and moved past. The horses became genuine participants in the story, present in the courtyard, in the long allée of trees, beside the chapel, and in the portraits that capture the couple most honestly. They belong here. That fact shows in every frame.
Every Element Had to Earn Its Place
A dramatic white powder explosion by Sky Fire, set against the château’s stone terrace and garden statues, brought one of the shoot’s most striking visual moments.
Luxury doesn’t always need to be extravagant. Sometimes it is found in thoughtful choices, meaningful details, and images that remain beautiful long after the moment has passed. Ivory Chapter is a reminder that the most powerful wedding editorials are the ones where every element has a reason to be there.
