Top 30 I’m a photographer because I’ve had horrible wedding photos and I wanted to make sure no one else had the same bad experience. I got married to my first husband in 2006 when I was still in college. Back then I was directed to lay my ring hand with my new husband’s across the Bible, to do the dreaded jumping photo, and to gaze into my bouquet like it could tell the future. It felt weird to be around that photographer, and when I got the photos back, those felt weird too. I was posed like what a bride was supposed to look like and I smiled like I was told to smile—not my real smile. Wedding photos in general have come a long way since then, but the feeling of being treated like a prop at your own wedding is still a common problem.

Libby did our engagement and wedding photos, and I could not have asked for better photographer. For starters, she traveled to Minnesota for the wedding even though she had other weddings the same weekend in Colorado! Libby is the definition of professional. It is very apparent from the start that she knows what she is doing and enjoys it! She is very skilled and creative in directing her subjects to get amazing shots, while simultaneously allowing us to candidly be ourselves. Between her confidence and her humor, we were at complete ease. She is committed to capturing the beauty of little moments- which is the most important when the actual memories of your wedding day tend to become a blur over time. I never thought I could look so beautiful in pictures! She also is an extremely hard-working wonder woman! During the reception, she was everywhere! Any time there was a sweet moment with anyone, there she was! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone for any occasion! Thank you so much Libby!
When my husband and I first got engaged, we were pretty wary about picking a photographer. Neither of us really enjoys being photographed and any sort of professional pictures usually end up looking forced and awkward. I met Libby at the Rocky Mountain Bridal Show just after getting engaged and I immediately liked her because she was friendly and not at all pushy.
On our wedding day, Libby and her husband, Will, were timely, professional, and surprisingly stealthy. When I saw the photos, I was amazed at some of the candid photos they caught, because they were so good at being invisible at the right times. Will was a rockstar in those twenty minutes pre-ceremony, when I was having a mini panic attack. He's clearly a pro at weddings, because he knew exactly what to say to chill me out. Both Libby and Will went above and beyond in terms of service the day-of - they made sure I got every photo I wanted and always made sure I had what I needed, even running to the bar a handful of times to refresh my drink. I had met with Libby prior to the wedding and had expressed a couple of special people and moments that I wanted captured - every single of those was captured. My grandpa does not love being photographed and she managed to capture the most handsome candid photo of him. All of our pictures are incredible - we get complimented all the time on how unique, colorful, and genuine they are. The albums we got with our purchased package are gorgeous, high-quality, and an awesome way to capture a summary of the day. We are so glad we went with Libby and can't wait to have an excuse to use her and her husband again someday :)

Hiring Libby Neder for our wedding photography was one of the BEST decisions we made for our big day! From the first meeting Libby held with my fiance and I, she has been nothing but professional, caring, patient, upbeat and creative. As a bride who sometimes struggled with my "vision", Libby brought out the best in me. She was open to trying new poses, working with props, and experimenting with composition. Just look at her photos- no shortage of variety!
During our engagement shoot, I had told Libby that I couldn't stand photos of my fiance and I kissing. She made sure to capture natural, authentic moments- avoiding the awkward kiss photos that I dread. Throughout the whole session, Libby was flexible and enthusiastic to entertain my ideas- including a few outfit changes and Pinterest prop ideas.... but she also had several original ideas of her own!
Honestly, one of the top reasons we chose Libby was her enthusiasm to try new things and her flexibility. Particularly, my husband and I hosted a traditional Vietnamese/Chinese tea ceremony. Although Libby was new to this ceremony, she took the time to understand each of the elements, diligently photographing all the small details in the tea ceremony. Libby and Will (her husband and second shooter) never missed a beat.
For our wedding ceremony, we chose to get married in our church. Because we had a traditional Catholic ceremony, there were certain rules for photography. After seeing Libby's portfolio, I knew she'd be a great fit- able to stay within the rules, but still capturing stunning photos. Libby and Will photographed the church setting beautifully, and transformed some otherwise dull-lit concrete walls and wooden pillars into amazingly rich images.
Finally, I leave my review with one of the best pieces of advice Libby has ever told me. She once said that a photo means something special now, but in the years down the road, your views and thoughts of that photo may change- be it that life has brought you to a new stage or that the people who have shared in those memories may not be with us. I could not speak more highly of Libby! She was a blast to work with, so professional, and somehow managed to accommodate every single request we had on our wedding day. She was professional and polished and I couldn't be more grateful for her poise during such a crazy fun party.
