My husband and I were married May 10th, 2025 and it saddens us to read other reviews and feel we did not receive the same experience. Though our photos turned out beautiful (albeit not everything we asked for and expected) and Ashley was very pleasant the day of our wedding, we had an extreme issue with communication that really ruined the whole photo experience.

To start fr om the beginning- we booked the wedding package with engagement photos included. Our engagement session date got double booked- no big deal- we were a little upset but understood that with digital calendars, things like that can happen. We reached out to Ashley and she said she would let us know that day what other dates she had available. 3 days passed and we hadn’t heard anything so we reached out to her again to see when we could reschedule. Fast forward- we got our date rescheduled and our engagement photos were taken. At the end of our session, we were told a week to a week and a half wait time to receive them back. Almost 3 weeks had passed and we had not received any updates, so we again had to reach out. We received our engagement photos 4 weeks after they were taken. Little did we know this was only the beginning.

Fast forward to our wedding- we did receive our day of questionnaire and photography timeline on time. The wedding day went well, though she asked to leave early and I agreed because she said she got everything (I later realized one of the only photos I had specifically asked for and gave an example of in my questionnaire was not done). On the day of our wedding, Ashley told us we would have our sneak peek no later than the Monday after our wedding, and to expect our full gallery about 2 weeks after our wedding (contract stated 30 days). Over 3 weeks passed and we still had not received our sneak peek nor been communicated to about delays, so my husband reached out. He did not receive any communication back fr om her so both my mom and dad reached out as well. Finally on June 5th, we received our sneak peaks only. It was also brought to my attention during this time that one of my other vendors had shared a photo taken by Ashley from my wedding BEFORE I had received any photos which was very frustrating.

Fast forward again to the 30 day contract date (June 10th)- we did not receive our gallery and had not been communicated to yet again regarding delays. We reached out to Ashley again and received a response a couple days later which was not in good taste for a business owner and a comment was made by her that we found rude wh ere she asked us to have “common decency.” After further communication initiated by us, we were told on two separate days that we would be receiving our final gallery that day, which we did not, and again she did not communicate why. We finally received our gallery 51 days after our wedding, wh ere we promptly “hearted” our favorite photos so she could put together our wedding book (which came with the package).

Months passed (it was now September) and we realized we had not received our wedding photo book or any updates so we reached out again. To no surprise, we failed to get a response and this is when we decided we would peruse legal action unless the contract was fulfilled. After informing Ashley of that we magically received a response from her that the company she uses for the books was out of material. She stated she sent me an email about this, which I never received (she had claimed a couple times throughout this process that she emailed me but did not, yet I would somehow always get the emails no trouble after confronting her). We were given the option to wait or receive a refund for the cost of the book. We chose the refund because we were just ready to be done working with her.

Overall, we feel like this experience really took the excitement out of the process. I have been reluctant to share the photos on social media of our big day because I have so many negative feelings toward the whole situation. Again, though the photos we received are beautiful, I do not feel they are her best work or equate to the photos she uses to advertise. Unfortunately, I would not recommend Ashley to anyone. For the price of her services, we expected a worry free and quality experience and did not receive that.

Do not, I repeat, do not use Ashley Ludwig as your wedding photographer.
We contracted with her to take photos for my daughter’s engagement and wedding. She cancelled on the first scheduled date for the engagement pictures, and the date had to be rescheduled.
Thankfully she showed up to take pictures on the day of the wedding (5/10/25). My daughter was to receive all picture packages 30 days after the wedding date (sneak peak pictures, digital photo album, hard copy photo album). My daughter did not receive the sneak peak pictures until 6/5/25. After many text messages and unanswered phone calls to Ashley my daughter finally got the digital package around 7/4/25.
As of 9/17/25 my daughter has yet to receive the hard copy photo package. Ashley will blame every delay on you and continually make commitments that she doesn’t keep. We paid her $5,000 (the full amount for the picture contract) as she expected to paid in full before doing anything. She is now not responding to text messages or phone calls, leaving us no option but to pursue legal action to force her to fulfill the contract. We have located her address in Hartville in preparation to meet with an attorney to bring closure to this ordeal.

Ashley was the very best decision we made during the wedding planning process. I could not have imagined what a major role she would play over the past few months. She went above and beyond to make us feel special, help us make decisions and execute them, and support us through a typically stressful time. Her work is so beautiful and professional. We felt the most comfortable during the engagement shoot and during the wedding with her guidance and calming presence. I feel like we have gained a lifelong friend in Ashley!

Having Ashley as my photographer was by far the best decision I made while wedding planning. As all brides know, there are a million photographer options out there so it can be overwhelming to choose. I didn’t know who I wanted to go with until I talked to Ashley on the phone. Immediately she made me feel so much less stressed about everything. Not only is she an INCREDIBLE photographer, she also helps with timelines, helping other vendors, assisting whenever anyone needs a helping hand… I could go on and on. I honestly felt like Ashley was another friend at my wedding- that just takes amazing photos haha that’s how comfortable she makes you feel. Everyone at my wedding also LOVED her. She is incredible. 10/10 recommend.

Booking Ashley for our engagement and wedding photos was the best decision we made when planning our wedding. She is simply the best of the best. My husband and I were really nervous to have our engagement photos taken, but as soon as we were in Ashley’s presence, those fears disappeared because of how calming, professional, and easy going she is. She guides you in a way that feels so natural, making every shot she takes **chef’s kiss**. On our wedding day, Ashley went above and beyond her role as a photographer. She’s insanely talented and perfectly captured one of the best days of my life in such a magical way. But beyond her incredible eye that captures all of your special moments, she is also the kindest, most thoughtful human and helped in ways I never expected. Forgot to plan transportation to a second photo location at the venue? Ashley volunteers to drive my husband and I, not batting an eye that my dress made a complete sparkly mess of her car. Bustle on your dress breaks during your reception? No worries, Ashley somehow appears out of nowhere with a zip tie to fix it. Long after our wedding was over, family and friends still talked about how much they loved our wedding photographer. Do yourself a favor and book with Ashley. I promise you your entire home will be filled with Ashley’s photos when you receive your gallery back and you’ll look back on the best day knowing you had the best photographer out there.
