8 years The Alaiar estate is located in the center of the island, near Sencelles. A pretty country road lined with dry-stone walls leads through the fertile valley, characterized by vineyards and almond groves. The impressive Tramuntana mountain range towers in the distance. The origins of Alaiar lie in the founding of a Moorish settlement called "Alayar" in the Qanarussa region. After the Christian reconquest under King James I, the area and the estate passed to the Count of Béarn, Gastó de Montcada. Throughout its more than 1,000-year history, agriculture has been practiced here, and continues to be practiced today. We grow our own vineyards, olive trees, and almonds, have a small flock of sheep, harvest our carob trees annually, and we look forward to the fruit of our diverse fruit trees. Ten beehives provide us with delicious honey twice a year.
