4 years My name is Sara, founder of Babel Bloom, Portuguese fr om Porto, but I have lived most of my life in Lisbon. I studied architectural design when I was younger, wh ere I worked for several years, but eventually went to university to study Chinese Medicine. At the end of the course I realized that I had no talent or “skills” for it and dedicated myself to writing, where I wrote a book of poetry and worked in some advertising agencies in Portugal as a copywriter. I lived temporarily in Paris, New York, and settled in Toronto for a few years, where I took a screenwriting course at the University of Toronto and worked full-time as a writer until the pandemic hit and left us all at home. When I was lost, I found my love for the flowers. As obsessed as I am with the things I like, I only ended up here, where I am now: between Puglia and Portugal, a proud florist who has done and studied everything, but has finally found peace in nature and flowers. I love my job, but I hate rules. I think it’s important to study all the rules and know them well to be able to break them.
