10 years We are just two mad souls that met by chance on a messy, chaotic night years ago and have since crafted a life together. Going against the grain and forgoing traditions to live a creative life. For the past decade we have made it our mission to study and capture light & love in a frantic dance with the madness that is Iceland. We were highly unlikely candidates to become wedding photographers and would never claim to be experts on bridal fashion or wedding trends, but we make up for it by having an innate sense of the weather patterns over this dramatic island and can predict an impending rain shower with uncanny accuracy. What drew us in were the unfiltered raw emotions amidst the rough and ethereal landscapes of our island that mixed together in a whirlwind of human and natural elements. We strive to let the true moments shine—raw, unfiltered, and real. Our approach shuns elaborate posing and stylised settings in favor of genuine expressions and spontaneous emotions.

Initially I was overwhelmed with options. For some reason there are a lot of photographers that want to be paid to take pictures in Iceland. S&H are awesome locals who are go out and explore for fun, so they know their country and how to photograph it beautifully.
They provide many photos from their portfolio showcasing shoots in different areas of the county, as well as informational guides on their website regarding how to prepare and plan for an elopement, which I found to be very helpful. Their responses to my questions were prompt and very thorough. I gave them a general region where we wanted to do the shoot, and they were able to provide us with options for specific locations once we met up. I imagine they easily accommodate those with more specific requests, however, for somebody who was borderline clueless, they were super helpful.
On the day of, they took us into the back of their truck and drove us to the ceremony location. They were so patient with me- I was extremely cold the entire time, and Heiðdís (along with officiant Magga Gauja) took care to keep me as comfortable as possible. My dress also kept snapping at the back and they made sure to promptly pin it back each time it broke.
They took us to a variety of shoot locations, from a black Mars-like landscape with striking green hills, to a glacier, to lupine fields, and finally to Skógafoss. They were friendly and calm, yet adventurous and creative. We had a lot of laughs. Choosing S&H gave us an amazing experience that we could have never expected, and I am forever thankful for their guidance and beautiful photos!
P.S. If you’re looking for an officiant, Magga Gauja with Siðmennt is wonderful. Not only was she willing to make her way to the location for the ceremony in her own truck, but she also wrote an awesome ceremony that was personalized for us. She totally went above and beyond.
The day after, they sent us a small selection of photos, which were already amazing! A few days ago we got all the photos from them and looking through them we were able to relive our day. The photos turned out fantastic and we can highly recommend them to everyone!
They are calm, kind, great listeners and just great people. We knew after our first video call with them that we wanted to hire them as our wedding photographers (they were the first and only photographers we interviewed :)
The care and thoughtfulness that was put into our wedding day and aligning with what we wanted really shone through while we were working with them, and even more when we saw the incredible photographs from our wedding day.
Our ceremony and reception were held at Idno in Reykjavik. Prior to the ceremony, we also went outside of Reykjavik to take photographs near a waterfall (with wild Icelandic horses too!) - this was truly an experience we will never forget and one of our favorite parts of the day.
We truly were able to enjoy our wedding day and be present with each other and our guests without distractions.
