Marigny Opera House is a unique cultural wedding venue in New Orleans, LA. Situated only six blocks fr om the French Quarter, this former church turned opera house is architecturally stunning and full of character. Marigny Opera House was originally built in 1847 as the Holy Trinity Church. After a fire destroyed the building, it was rebuilt in 1853. In 1997, the church closed its doors and was deconsecrated, and in 2011 it became Marigny Opera House, a “Church of the Arts.” In November of that year, it hosted the acclaimed Fringe Festival, and in 2014, its residence dance company, Marigny Opera Ballet, was established. It now serves as a community meeting place and plays host to charitable and philanthropic meetings, workshops, and seminars. It’s also a place wh ere the performing artists of New Orleans can develop their careers and their community. The venue hosts regular performances of dance, classical music, jazz, opera and more. Marigny Opera House can hold 150-200 guests for wedding receptions. This fully accessible venue has both indoor and outdoor event space, and is easily customizable so you can make it your own. The full lawn is an excellent place to exchange vows in the open air, while the spacious interior has an old-world charm that will make your event unique. Just a quick look around the venue will show you why artists such as Solange and Depeche Mode chose it as a setting for their music videos. For a wedding your guests will never forget, Marigny Opera House is the perfect venue.
