Also known as the Van Benthuysen-Elms Mansion, this beautiful Italianate-style mansion was built in 1869 and has been hosting weddings and other events for over fifty years.  In 1952, it was bought by John Elms Sr., the owner of the largest coin-operated amusement company in the South. The house is now owned by the third generation of the Elms family, who have used it to host private events since 1969. Complete with period furnishings, this stunning venue features such exquisite details as a hand-carved marble mantel, 24-karat gold sconces, and ornamental cornices. Couples can exchange their vows on the gazebo in the mansion’s beautiful gardens, which is home to one of the city’s largest magnolia trees. The 48-foot grand ballroom, complete with jeweled windows, features a stage and a full-service bar. With the gardens, Elms Mansion can accommodate 400 people or more.
