Nirali Shah Events Planner

Hi all - I’ve never written a review before, but I felt it was important to share my experience, especially for future brides.

I signed a full-service wedding planning contract with Nirali Shah Events. From the beginning, I requested Nirali Shah as my lead planner but was encouraged to work with Danielle Lampron instead. I was told Nirali might not be available for my wedding weekend and was quoted $25K for Danielle or $30K for Nirali.

Unfortunately, my experience working with Danielle led to a growing loss of trust. On one occasion, we were told that our décor vendor (B3) had rescheduled a meeting, but the vendor later provided proof that the meeting had actually been canceled by Danielle. When this was raised, the explanation provided was unclear and did not restore confidence. Similar issues arose with other vendors we explored.

There were also concerns regarding transparency around travel expenses. Danielle stated that all vendor travel required our approval, yet booked a $1,350 flight (domestic for our wedding) without notifying us. When questioned, the amount was later changed to $500 in our shared spreadsheet without explanation, which made us uncomfortable.

Throughout the planning process, we felt strong pressure to use certain preferred vendors. When we explored alternatives, the level of support noticeably declined. Additionally, frequent last-minute cancellations and rescheduled calls added stress, particularly when my mom and sisters had adjusted their schedules to attend meetings.

The turning point occurred in August, when Danielle agreed to handle day of coordination for our engagement event but did not show up. We were initially told this was due to travel delays and then due to hospitalization. While we would have been understanding, we observed social media activity that same weekend that appeared inconsistent with what we had been told (posts of rooftop partying in NYC in real time). We never received follow-up communication or clarification, which felt unprofessional.

When we escalated our concerns to Nirali Shah, we hoped for accountability, but felt our concerns were minimized. She declined to address the social media discrepancy and redirected the conversation away from the inconsistencies we raised. We were also told this reflected differences in lead planner experience and that, given limited profitability, it might not be worthwhile for her as the owner to take over our wedding.

Nirali offered to step in only if we paid an additional sum of money, accepted a reduced scope of services, and signed an addendum to our contract limiting our ability to share our experience with others. Given how close we were to the wedding, this raised further concern. We were advised that such a clause is not standard in wedding planning contracts.

Our request for a refund was declined. When we asked for a breakdown of what the additional sum would cover, the explanation provided was resources and an extra person for the weekend, without further detail.

Thankfully, with just 2.5 months to go, we found a new planner. Malenia Events (Rupal and Niki) were professional, transparent, and focused on our needs.

I’m sharing this experience to help other brides make informed decisions. A wedding planner should provide peace of mind, not added stress. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Nirali Shah Events.

Nirali is a Goddess!! She made my wedding vision come to life! Coming from a controlling and want to be perfectionist bridezilla, she did an awesome job in controlling the situation and executing everything I wanted. Nirali worked so hard till the moment we agreed to work together till the end of my reception! I cant thank her enough for putting my wedding weekend together! Nirali and her team are outstanding!  We utilized her services as she is known for doing an amazing job for Indian/Non-Indian weddings.  She not only paid attention to all of our requests but she exceeded our expectations which is not surprising as she is amazing!  We had a fusion/gay Indian/American wedding and Nirali and her team really made our event run so smoothly!  We highly recommend her for any type of event and you will not be disappointed!
