Some love stories begin with careful planning. This one began with a rave on Governors Island in New York City — and went from there with the kind of momentum that only happens when two people meet and immediately understand that something has shifted.
"The moment I met him, it was love at first sight," Alexa says simply. "We have been together for 9 beautiful years."
Nine years of building a life across two cities — New York and Schöneberg-Kübelberg — before Kamil decided it was time to make things official. He chose Central Park. He told Alexa they were stopping to take pictures. She turned around and found him on one knee. "I did not expect it at all," she recalls. A horse carriage, the most iconic park in the world, and a proposal she never saw coming. The beginning of the next chapter.
About Your Wedding
Alexa's vision for the wedding was clear from the very beginning — and it stayed clear through every decision that followed. "Timeless, romantic, whimsical, an overall unforgettable experience." Four words that turned out to be an exact description of what Villa Cimbrone in Ravello delivered.
The concept was intentionally minimal. "The venue we chose speaks for itself. So I wanted something that just enhanced its beautiful features and was minimalistic." White, cream, and splashes of light pink carried through every element of the design — a palette that felt both classic and quietly alive, perfectly suited to the gardens and stone of the Amalfi Coast.
Fifty-seven guests, one and a half years of planning, and a venue found on a Google search that was exactly right: "When you know, you know."
Morning Details
The morning began at Palazzo Avino — one of the most beautiful hotels on the Amalfi Coast, and the only place Alexa had ever considered for her getting-ready location. "I loved all the pink that surrounded the property. It made me feel happy and light." Her mother was there for all of it. "My mom was with me the whole time. I couldn't imagine it any other way, that's my bestie."
There was one detail Alexa wore that the photographs cannot fully capture: a Swarovski bracelet given to her by her mother, chosen as her something blue. "My grandma's birthstone was blue, and the bracelet reminded me so much of her. I really felt her presence with me when I wore it." A quiet thread of love running through the day, connecting three generations.
Bride Getting Ready
Alexa's dress was by Ines Di Santo, found at Mark Ingram Atelier in New York City — and it was the very first dress she tried on. "I had a clear vision of what I was looking for," she says. The search that other brides describe lasting months resolved itself in a single appointment.
The final look was completed with Manolo Blahnik heels, a Toni Federici veil, and Ines Di Santo sleeves that matched the dress perfectly — each element chosen with the same clarity and intention that had guided every other decision. Her bouquet, designed by florist Maria Starace, was built around English roses, with some stems deliberately placed higher to create what Alexa describes as "that whimsical feel." Classic at its foundation. Unexpected at its edges. Entirely her.
For the bridesmaids, Alexa gave them freedom rather than a prescription — asking only that they choose colors from her stationery palette. The result was a group that looked cohesive and, more importantly, genuinely themselves.
Groom Getting Ready
Kamil's tuxedo was custom Italian — sourced through a family connection in New York, which gave it a personal provenance that matched the spirit of the entire day. While Alexa was surrounded by pink walls and her mother at Palazzo Avino, Kamil was preparing for a moment he had been moving toward for nine years. He did not yet know exactly what it would look like when she walked toward him. He was about to find out.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place at San Giovanni del Toro Church in Ravello — a church Alexa describes as "so stunning and simple," with one extraordinary architectural detail that sets it apart from almost anywhere else: "The coolest part is the see-through glass floor."
Alexa walked down the aisle to a violin version of Can't Help Falling in Love — a choice that said everything about the tone she had set for the entire day. And then came the moment she had not fully anticipated: "When our parents came up to bless our marriage in the church, I felt really emotional. There's no greater feeling than having proud parents standing by your side on your special day."
Fifty-seven people. A glass floor. Parents who stepped forward to bless their children's marriage. By the time the ceremony ended, the emotion in the room was something no one there will easily forget.
Photoshoot After The Ceremony
After the ceremony, everything moved to Villa Cimbrone, which had always been the destination Alexa had in mind for her photographs. "My priority was to get all my photos at the stunning Villa Cimbrone. It is such a special place for us, every inch of it is magical."
Mila and Stephan from Vivid Symphony, who had been with the couple throughout the day, moved through the villa's gardens and terraces with them — capturing the light, the landscape, and the particular atmosphere of two people at the beginning of their marriage. The crypt, which Alexa had first seen that morning and was now decorated with its full floral design, was one of the central locations. Every inch of it exactly as she had imagined.
Wedding Venue & Decor
"I literally Googled 'wedding venues in Italy,' and the crypt was the first thing that popped up, and I fell in love. I did not tour any other place but Villa Cimbrone. When you know, you know."
Villa Cimbrone is a property that requires almost no introduction among those who follow wedding photography — its terraced gardens overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, its medieval architecture, and its famous Terrace of Infinity have appeared in more editorial features than almost any other venue on the Amalfi Coast. But knowing about it and standing inside it are two different experiences, and Alexa knew immediately that this was where her wedding belonged.
The décor enhanced rather than competed — white, cream, and soft pink working quietly against the stone and greenery of the property. Florist Maria Starace handled every arrangement, translating Alexa's vision into a cohesive, elegant flow throughout the venue. The stationery, designed by Adele at Ofelia Botella's studio, was a particular source of pride. "Everything Adele designed for us was perfect. She was a joy to work with. It was the stationery of my dreams. I'm so proud of it." Two customized logos ran through every element — including the photobooth prints, where two fish represented the couple in a detail that was both playful and specifically theirs.
And then there was the crypt. "I will never forget the moment I saw the crypt decorated with its stunning flowers for the first time. I was in awe and felt so happy my vision came to life."
Real Wedding Couple's Advice
"My advice to couples planning a wedding in this region is to approach your budget with flexibility — costs can quickly exceed expectations. Take the time to visit multiple venues and choose the one that truly resonates with you both, as that connection will shape your entire experience.
Don't hesitate to ask detailed questions and ensure every element is clearly understood, especially at iconic venues like Villa Cimbrone.
At the same time, remember that this is a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Splurge on the elements that will matter most when you look back — those captured in your photos and memories — so you can relive the day without regret. And finally, invest in a good wedding planner. It's a must. They make all the difference."
Reception
The reception unfolded at Villa Cimbrone as the evening settled over the Amalfi Coast — the food, in Alexa's words, "spectacular," and the overall experience carrying the quality that the venue had promised from the first Google search result. The wedding cake was made by Villa Cimbrone itself. The first dance was to Perfect by Andrea Bocelli and Ed Sheeran — the same song that has closed more than one love story's most important chapter — and here it felt entirely earned.
Behind the seamlessness of the day was a team that Alexa describes with genuine emotion. "Because of them, our fairytale came to life. We truly couldn't have done it without them." The La Calla ladies — Marianna and Laura — had been the architects of everything, "warm, organized, and deeply dedicated to every detail" from the first planning conversation to the last moment of the evening.
Photographers Mila and Stephan from Vivid Symphony were, in Alexa's words, "truly a blessing" — and the depth of that description becomes clear when she elaborates. "From the very beginning, they worked closely with us to thoughtfully capture every detail we envisioned. Nothing ever felt out of reach, which I loved. Mila and Stephan were an essential part of our day, creatively guiding us and making sure we were having fun, which made everything feel seamless and enjoyable. I knew with their dedication they were going to exceed my expectations — and they delivered. Every shot was flawlessly captured with such elegance and precision. We are so beyond happy and proud."
Makeup artist Roberto from Beauty Livery ensured that Alexa looked and felt exactly as she had imagined throughout. "With him in my corner, I felt happy, relaxed, and always beautiful."
"When people ask me if I would do it all over again, I say yes." Not because it was easy — it was not always easy. But because the result was something that could only have come from the specific combination of people, place, and intention that came together on that day in Ravello. "They were our dream team. I wouldn't have changed a thing."
