Under the Golden Sun: Lily & Alik’s Wedding at Cavaignac Estate

Love Story

Lily and Alik grew up attending the same church but ran in different circles — she with a secret crush, he barely noticing the younger girl. Everything changed when they began working together in the teens ministry at SOL Church. After a brief failed attempt at texting, fate intervened on May 8th, 2021. "He texted me asking if I was doing anything on Sunday, May 9th. I didn't have any plans, so he took me out on a date to go axe throwing," Lily shares. That unique first date sparked something special, and their connection grew stronger with each passing day.

With only four months between their May engagement and September wedding, the couple worked quickly to plan their dream celebration.
"We got engaged on May 9th and our wedding was September 17th so we had about 4 months to plan," Lily explains.

Despite the tight timeline, they managed to create a spectacular event for their 300 guests at the picturesque Cavaignac Estate in Walnut Grove, California. "We both have a lot of family, relatives and friends," they explain, which made for a joyous, well-attended celebration.

As the morning sun rose over the Cavaignac Estate in Walnut Grove, the excitement was palpable. The estate, with its sprawling vineyard and tree-lined driveway, provided the perfect backdrop for what would become a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Bride getting ready

Finding the perfect dress was a journey in itself for Lily, who had a specific vision but struggled to find it on the racks. "I had envisioned a wedding dress that I wanted, but when I went wedding dress shopping, I couldn’t find one that was similar enough," she shares.

The solution came in the form of talented designer Tanya Moldovan, who brought Lily's dream dress to life. "That’s when I went to Tanya Moldovan who designed my dress just how I wanted to," Lily explains with evident satisfaction. But one stunning dress wasn't enough for this stylish bride. "There was another dress that I really liked so I decided to have a dress for ceremony and another dress for reception."

The getting-ready moments were captured in all their glory at the Cavaignac Estate. "We had our get-ready photoshoot at our venue which was Cavaignac Estate in Walnut Grove, with our best photographers Ruslan and Oksana Pastushak," Lily reminisces.

First Look

One of the most anticipated moments of any wedding day is the first look, and for Lily and Alik, this private reveal was nothing short of magical. "Our first look took place at our venue Cavaignac," Lily shares. "It was a very special moment for the both of us, which I will never forget."

As guests gathered at the Cavaignac Estate, they were treated to a ceremony setting straight out of a fairy tale. "Our ceremony was at our venue, in a vineyard with a driveway filled with beautiful trees," Lily describes.

Wedding Venue & Decor

The Cavaignac Estate transformed into a floral paradise for Lily and Alik's reception, with a color palette that reflected the bride's romantic vision. "We wanted to have a lot of flowers, and we wanted a pastel look," Lily explains, "so we had different shades of baby blue, pink, white, cream." These soft, romantic colors complemented the natural beauty of the vineyard setting while adding an ethereal quality to the celebration space.

As day turned to evening, the Cavaignac Estate glowed with strings of lights and the warm ambiance of celebration. Interestingly, the couple chose to break with tradition in one significant way. The reception buzzed with energy as their 300 loved ones gathered to celebrate. Tables adorned with pastel floral arrangements created an intimate atmosphere despite the large guest count, and the evening unfolded with heartfelt toasts, delicious food, and plenty of dancing.
