Love Story
It started with a summer in the Hamptons, mutual friends, and a connection that took them both by surprise. That’s the short version. The long version ends with a wedding at the Ritz. Savannah and Connor met through friends, quickly became inseparable, and built a life together in New York. When it was time to propose, Connor chose the Literary Walk in Central Park. Savannah had no idea what was coming, and she said yes right away.
A year and a half later, they were in Paris.
About Your Wedding
Their vision came down to three words: “Moody, Parisian Chic, Absolute Party.” Everything else followed from there. The deep, dark reds of Moulin Rouge, the royal blue of revolutionary paintings, a nine-piece band, and two of the most iconic venues in Paris set the scene—one for the ceremony, one for the reception, each with its own style and personality. This was not a traditional wedding, and that was exactly what they wanted. As Connor put it, their rule was simple: they did whatever they wanted.
After a year and a half of planning and with a planner who had every detail covered, the day turned out to be, by all accounts, the best time their guests had ever had.
Morning Details
Savannah got ready in her suite at the Ritz Paris, surrounded by her bridesmaids. The city was just outside, the ceremony was ahead, and the morning set the perfect tone. The invitations, designed by Polina Perri, were elegant, thoughtful, and matched the style they had created for the day. M&I Creation handled the stationery for the wedding weekend, featuring a custom wedding logo in every detail. The wedding bands were from Lauren B Jewelry, and Savannah’s engagement ring was custom-made—the kind of pieces chosen to last as long as their marriage.
Bride Getting Ready
Savannah found her gown at the Amsale flagship in SoHo after visiting five stores. “A one of one dress that was only ever designed on a model and never put into production,” she says. The moment she tried it on, she knew it was the one. Her final look included a cathedral veil, sparkly Jimmy Choo shoes, and a bouquet of white Ponesse roses by One Deco. The bridesmaids wore chocolate brown, while the sisters of the bride and groom wore black. Each chose their own dress within the color palette, creating a mismatched but intentional look that matched the rest of the day.
Groom Getting Ready
Connor got ready at the InterContinental Le Grand with about sixteen of his closest friends, his brother, and his father. They had drinks at the bar before heading out into the streets of Paris for photos on the way to the Ritz. He wore a Calvin Klein tuxedo, Ralph Lauren shoes, and two different jackets—one for the ceremony and one for the reception, each chosen to fit the room. The atmosphere was full of excitement, with a group of people who had been waiting for this day, finally in Paris and finally heading toward the celebration.
First Look
The first look happened in the garden at the Ritz. It was also the moment Savannah shared with her father before seeing Connor. There were two first looks, both in that garden, each one special in its own way.
When Connor saw her, his first thought was clear: “I am the luckiest guy on the planet.” Savannah’s feelings were quieter. She had been thinking about how lucky and excited she was, and then she saw his smile. “Seeing his smile immediately made me calm, comfortable, and emotional. He looks so handsome.” Between the two of them, the garden at the Ritz had never seen anything like it.
Photoshoot Before The Ceremony
“We did a bunch of different locations: the room, the stairs, the halls, and the garden.” The Ritz gave them everything they needed and more—the lobby, the grand staircase, the garden, and the facade outside. Savannah moved through all of it. Meanwhile, Connor had his own experience: drinks with his groomsmen at the InterContinental bar, then out into the streets of Paris on the way over, with the city as his backdrop. When they came together for portraits, the Ritz brought it all together, showing why it is the kind of venue that knows its role and plays it perfectly.
Ceremony
The ceremony was held in Salon Marie-Louise at the Ritz, and by every account, it was anything but traditional. Connor walked in to Drops of Jupiter by Train. Savannah followed to Can’t Help Falling in Love. The officiant, Jack Williams, was a personal friend who knew them both well enough to speak about them in a way only someone who truly pays attention can.
“The officiant’s speech was UNBELIEVABLE,” Savannah says, and that single word in capitals says it all. Having someone at the front who could speak to their character and their love, they say, “made the event feel so much more comfortable and intimate, and honestly set the tone for the rest of the event. Everyone laughed and cried. It was perfect.”In their own words, ceremonies are usually the most boring part of a wedding—but not at theirs.
Photoshoot After The Ceremony
After the ceremony, Savannah and Connor went straight to the cocktail hour. There were no formal portraits and no disappearing act. They mingled with their guests, present and relaxed, exactly where they wanted to be. Paris could wait. Their people couldn’t.
Wedding Venue & Decor
“Getting married at the Ritz is a dream, and when you step foot into the Intercontinental Opera room, if you have the means, you simply can’t say no.”
Two venues, two color palettes, and one clear vision. The Ritz featured white and gold for the ceremony—clean, classic, and iconic. The InterContinental had deep red and gold for the reception, inspired by the dark romanticism of Moulin Rouge and the drama of revolutionary-era painting. The Opera room at the InterContinental, with its impressive scale and grandeur, was why they chose it for the reception. It gave them space for a nine-piece band and, as Connor described, was one of the most amazing rooms you could ever see.
Custom-made matches, a martini bar ice sculpture, and their wedding logo across every piece of stationery tied the personal details together throughout. The kind of touch that nobody notices individually, and everybody feels collectively.
Couple's Advice
“Get a wedding planner who understands your vision, your budget, and with whom you can have an honest and transparent relationship. Treat this like a party. Attend your wedding, don’t manage it. Be the guests of honor.”
Reception
Before the guests arrived, their planner Louise brought Savannah and Connor into the reception room alone. It was just the two of them, standing in the middle of what a year and a half of planning had created. “Having the entire room to ourselves was surreal. We soaked in the final product, and later, we had our first dance in that same room. The entire crowd was singing. Chills.”
The first dance was Heaven by Bryan Adams. The nine-piece Your Dream Band kept the energy at exactly the level a room like that deserves — French 75s, Espresso Martinis, Basil Smash, a skinny spicy margarita, and a dirty martini station, keeping everyone well looked after throughout the night. Dessert was a passion fruit cheesecake with a chocolate dome, served to every guest by the InterContinental. Behind all of it was Louise of Agence LB — the planner who translated not just the language but the entire vision, navigating vendors, timelines, and two iconic Parisian venues with the kind of calm authority that makes the impossible feel inevitable. “Louise had the event absolutely dialed” — and every detail of the day proved it. Behind the camera throughout it all was photographer Nika Gunchak — and if the images she brought back from Paris are any indication, she understood the assignment from the very first frame.
