Catherine and Jordan's romance began with a match on Hinge in October 2020. After connecting online, they finally met in person when Jordan visited Florida for Christmas, resulting in an unforgettable eight-hour first date. "We both knew it was special," Catherine recalls with a smile.

The couple navigated a long-distance relationship for nearly a year and a half before Jordan accepted a position near Catherine's family in New Orleans. Six months after their move, he proposed during a surprise celebration just before Catherine's birthday.

Planning their dream celebration took nine months, with both Catherine and Jordan envisioning a wedding that would serve as "a massive party with tons of music, food, and really capturing the culture of New Orleans," as Catherine describes it.

Their wedding weekend unfolded across iconic New Orleans locations: the elegant Longue Vue House and Gardens, the historic St. Louis Cathedral, and the luxurious Omni Royal Hotel. Catherine shares that her main inspiration was Jasmine Tooks' Catholic wedding and dress.

Morning details

The couple chose to handle their invitations themselves, opting for digital save-the-dates that directed guests to their online invitations. Their wedding rings were thoughtfully selected at a local jewelry store, with both choosing simple gold bands to complement Catherine's stunning engagement ring that Jordan had selected himself. On their wedding day, Jordan surprised Catherine with a special gift — a necklace featuring emblems of iconic New Orleans landmarks and a pair of magnolia earrings that paid homage to their new home.

Catherine’s wedding morning was a dream wrapped in love and anticipation. She and her bridal party gathered at the elegant Omni Royal Hotel,where she was surrounded by the most cherished women in her life—her bridesmaids, stepmother, mother, and grandmother.

Her wedding gown, a masterpiece by Martina Liana, was crafted with custom touches that made it uniquely hers. The journey to finding the one led her to Town and Country Bridal Boutique in New Orleans, LA, a search that took a month and a half but was well worth the wait.

To complete her bridal look, Catherine wore a breathtaking cathedral-length veil edged in delicate lace, a pearl-adorned headpiece, and exquisite pearl chandelier earrings. Her heels, sparkling with pearls from every angle, added the perfect finishing touch, making her feel like she had stepped right out of a fairytale.

For her bouquet, she embraced timeless beauty with a lush arrangement of pure white roses and tulips intertwined with fresh greenery—a vision of romance in bloom. Her bridesmaids, each radiating grace, wore gowns in soft nude and blush tones, carefully chosen from either Revelry or Birdy Grey.

Jordan and his groomsmen prepared at the Omni Royal Hotel as well, with his brother serving as best man. His tuxedo, custom made by Perles of New Orleans, featured a special touch — their wedding date printed in the collar.

First Look

The couple’s first look took place at Longue Vue House and Gardens, a breathtakingly serene setting. As Jordan turned to see Catherine for the first time, his face lit up with awe. He could only think of how gorgeous she looked, eyes filled with emotion. Catherine, overwhelmed with happiness, thought, “I couldn't believe we had finally come to this day.”

Choosing Longue Vue House and Gardens for their pre-ceremony photos was a natural decision. “I chose Longue Vue Home and Gardens for the photo session because of how open, bright, and green it was,” the bride shares. “Having a wedding in the city makes it hard to get shots like that and I wanted a more bright and airy feel to the photos.”

Ceremony

Held at the historic St. Louis Cathedral, their ceremony was a breathtakingly intimate moment amidst grandeur. As Catherine walked down the aisle to the angelic Latin rendition of Ave Maria, guests were moved by the sheer beauty of the moment.

Jordan’s niece, Jude Dozoer, walked as the flower girl, while Catherine’s nephews, Chandler and Charlie, served as ring bearers. The most emotional moment of the ceremony came when Catherine’s father, overwhelmed with emotion, shed tears upon seeing his daughter in her wedding gown.

Wedding Venue & Decor

The couple fell in love with The Omni Royal Hotel upon their first visit. “We stopped by it randomly one afternoon and fell in love with the staff. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, and the ballroom chandeliers and walls were stunning,” they share. Their color palette—white and nudes—complemented the romantic aesthetic. Bridesmaids wore shades of light pink and nude, while groomsmen donned black tuxedos with nude vests. White florals with lush green foliage added to the refined yet natural ambiance.

To personalize their wedding, they included custom handkerchiefs for the Second Line parade and provided flats for women to walk comfortably through the French Quarter.

Reception

The reception was a lively, music-filled celebration that truly embodied the spirit of New Orleans. Jordan and Catherine’s first dance was to Aaliyah’s At Your Best, a heartfelt moment that set the tone for the evening. Guests indulged in signature New Orleans delicacies, including gumbo shooters, lamb chops, and mini beignets served with Café Au Lait shots. The wedding cake, crafted by Bywater Bakery, was a stunning masterpiece that reflected their elegant theme.

As the night drew to a close, Catherine and Jordan made their grand exit in a horse-drawn carriage. Jordan played a special recording from 2021—a conversation they had recorded just months into dating, sharing their feelings and dreams for the future. “This was saved on a jump drive that we were told to listen to later in life. It was surreal hearing our answers for the first time, the night of our wedding, truly a full circle moment,” Catherine shares. “We both cried listening to the tape.”

Their love story, a tale of long-distance, deep connection, and unwavering commitment, had officially begun its next chapter in the most magical way.
