Nasim & Milad’s Wedding at Villa Bettoni: Persian Soul, Italian Sky

Love Story

Ten years ago, Nasim and Milad met at university. Neither of them needed long to figure out what was happening. "From the very beginning, we both felt a strong connection — almost like love at first sight," Nasim tells us. "After just a few dates, it was clear that we belonged together."

Nine years later, they're still doing everything together — and we mean that literally. They're both dentists, working in the same practice. They travel together, cook together, work out together. Their lives are genuinely intertwined in the best possible way.

The proposal happened in Paris. Milad surprised her with the trip, and while Nasim had a quiet feeling it might be coming — they'd been together seven years and marriage had come up more than once — it still landed exactly the way it should. "It was just the two of us, very intimate and romantic," she says. "It turned out to be the most beautiful trip ever."

About Your Wedding

They gave themselves six months to plan it, and from the start, Nasim knew what she wanted. "I always knew I wanted a wedding in a place like a large villa or a castle by the water," she tells us. "Italy had always been my dream. I love Italian food, I've been travelling there since I was little, and I really wanted that Italian flair and atmosphere to be part of our wedding day."

Villa Bettoni came into the picture the way the best decisions often do — she saw a photo of it and that was that. "We fell in love with a picture of the villa." Done.

The style they were after was timeless and elegant — classic but with something modern in it. And because both Nasim and Milad are Iranian, it was never going to be just a European wedding. "It was important to us to incorporate not only a European style but also subtle Persian influences," Nasim explains, "bringing both cultures together in a harmonious and elegant way." That thread ran through everything — from the décor to the ceremony itself.

To bring that vision to life, they worked closely with wedding planner Julia Weiss of Illumina Weddings, who shaped the overall concept and coordinated every detail of the day, from managing the venue to bringing together the creative team.

Morning Details

The invitations weren't just handed off to a designer. Nasim and Milad sat down with their stationery designer and worked through it together — the way they tend to approach most things. Their rings were chosen the same way: together, and with a clear idea in mind. Classic, timeless, no fuss. "We preferred a minimal and timeless look that wouldn't distract from the moment," Nasim says — and that applied to jewellery too. She wore none beyond the essentials, and it was absolutely the right call.

Bride Getting Ready

Nasim got ready at the Grand Fasano Hotel on Lake Garda, with her mother and sister beside her.

Her dress is a Vera Wang, found at Esposa Privé in Dubai — and finding it wasn't actually the ordeal it can sometimes be. "I tried on many different dresses, but I still remember the exact moment I put this one on," she says. "I immediately felt comfortable and knew it was exactly what I had imagined. It was one of the first dresses I tried, and I kept comparing everything else to it. That's how I knew it was the right one." Her veil came from Esposa Privé as well, and on her feet: Aquazzura heels. Her bouquet was built around soft garden roses, inspired by peonies — romantic, full, and soft — created by florist Fiore all'Occhiello.

Her bridesmaids each wore something different. Nasim chose the colour and left the rest entirely up to them. "I didn't want them to look identical — I wanted every bridesmaid to stand out in her own way," she explains. "What mattered most to me was that they felt comfortable and confident, because only then could they truly enjoy the day and have fun with us." It's a small decision that says a lot about her.

Groom Getting Ready

Milad prepared at Villa Giulia on Lake Garda, with his best man and groomsman — his two closest friends — keeping him company. His tuxedo was made by a tailor in Bremen, bespoke and built for the occasion.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place at Villa Bettoni, and it opened with Elvis's Can't Help Falling in Love — Nasim walking down the aisle to one of the most quietly devastating songs ever written. Her bridesmaids went ahead of her as flower girls; Milad's best friend carried the rings.

What made it genuinely different was what happened next. Alongside the traditional ceremony, they included a Persian element — weaving Iranian and European traditions together into something that felt completely their own. "Bringing both cultures together in one ceremony made it incredibly special and personal for us," Nasim tells us.

For Milad, the moment she appeared at the end of the aisle is the memory he comes back to. For both of them, the ceremony sits at the centre of everything the day was.

Photoshoot After The Ceremony

After the ceremony, they walked through the gardens of Villa Bettoni — and the gardens of Villa Bettoni are exactly what you'd hope for from a historic Italian villa on Lake Garda. The photographs from this part of the day carry the particular lightness of two people who have just officially exhaled. The images were shot by Klassen Weddings, whose approach to wedding photography is rooted in documentary instinct and an eye for the unguarded moment — the kind of work that doesn't feel staged because it isn't. Alongside them, Jacqueline Alice Goutier brought the same sensibility to film, building a visual record of the day that moves the way memory does: not a highlight reel, but something closer to the feeling of being there.

"Even today, we're still asked who created our photos and video," Nasim says — which tells you everything you need to know about the team behind the lens. It's the kind of work that outlasts the day itself — what remains when the flowers are gone and the music has stopped.

Wedding Venue & Decor

Villa Bettoni is the kind of place that does a lot of the work for you — and Nasim knew that going in. Under Julia Weiss's direction, the design came together with the kind of quiet intention that looks effortless and isn't. The colour palette they built around it was soft and deliberate: mostly white for the ceremony, with blush and pastel pink introduced for the dinner. "We kept everything timeless and refined," Nasim says. The florals from Fiore all'Occhiello followed that same logic — white for the ceremony, soft pinks coming in for the reception, nothing overdone.

The only personalised item was the menu. When your venue looks like that, restraint is the right instinct.

Reception

The dinner was Italian — proper Italian, the way they'd always pictured it. No signature cocktails or novelty courses, just excellent food in an extraordinary setting. "We chose Italian cuisine, exactly the way we had always imagined it."

There was no first dance. Instead, what they both keep coming back to is their entrance — walking into the room as husband and wife for the first time, their guests rising to welcome them. "That moment made us feel incredibly loved," Nasim says, "and it's a moment we'll always remember."

The evening was held together by Bravo Wedding Music, the food came from a team that clearly knew what they were doing, and the whole thing ran the way it does when everyone involved is genuinely good at what they do. "This day wouldn't have been possible without the incredible people who helped bring it to life," the couple reflects. "Everything flowed so beautifully, and we're still deeply grateful to everyone who helped create such a magical day."
