In the heart of New York City, Nicole and Scott's wedding unfolded as a testament to their love story, which began unexpectedly in the summer of 2017 at a bar in the Hamptons. "We both were out with our friends and crossed paths on our way to the bar. We started talking and instantly hit it off," Nicole shared. Despite a comical mix-up with her phone number, fate intervened the next day, bringing them back together. "After dinner, we had the chance to speak again and I was able to clarify that I did not give him the wrong number on purpose. We exchanged the correct numbers and went our separate ways. We spoke on and off for the following few months and finally after our first date, six months later, the rest was history...," she added.
Their engagement on the rooftop, amidst a picturesque setup of roses and a surprise celebration with family and friends, set the stage for their dream wedding. "I had no suspicion that he may be proposing. He popped the question and of course, I said, yes! Afterwards, we went straight to dinner with our families, but what I did not know was that Scott had planned a surprise party for us after dinner with our closest friends. It was truly the most special night!" Nicole expressed, her eyes sparkling with the memory.
As they embarked on the 12-month journey to plan their wedding, every detail was meticulously chosen to reflect their vision of a romantic and elegant celebration at the iconic Cipriani Broadway. "I had always dreamed of my wedding since I was a young girl, so I could not wait to get started on the wedding planning process. The first day we visited our venue, I fell in love and knew we found the place where we'd get married," Nicole stated, her voice filled with excitement. "Cipriani Broadway is breathtakingly beautiful and romantic; exactly what I had pictured for my wedding. I could envision a rose-colored dance floor and cream and blush florals accented by endless rows of glowing candles."
A key moment Nicole will always remember is the final moments before the ceremony. "I remember sitting in the bridal suite getting last-minute touch-ups on my hair and make-up thinking to myself that the night of our lives is about to begin in just a few minutes. I reminded myself to enjoy every minute because I knew it'd go by fast," she recalled.
The brief, intimate time she and Scott shared in the bridal suite after the ceremony was profoundly special. "Although only five minutes long, I couldn't be happier to be alone with him, with food and drink in hand, smiling, laughing, and beyond excited to enter the party. We could truly feel the love that night, surrounded by our friends and family. The energy of the room was electric and smiles never left our faces," Nicole shared.
The wedding day kicked off with beautiful stationery from Alpine Creative Group, a nod to Nicole's family tradition. "Alpine Creative Group has always been our go-to stationer, as my family has worked with them dating back to my and my sibling's Bar/Bat Mitzvahs. It felt like a full-circle moment coming back to their store for our wedding invitations. Alpine did an incredible job designing the most beautiful save-the-dates, invitations, menus, and paper goods for our wedding. Working with an expert calligrapher, they helped design our monogram which was embossed on our invitations, menus, and custom napkins and projected onto the walls of Cipriani. Alpine executed our vision perfectly and helped carry the theme of our wedding through all aspects of the night," Nicole said.
As for the special jewelry, the bride mentioned, “I was married in my great-grandmother's gold band, which both my mother and grandmother were also married in.” “Monique Lhuillier was the first place I looked for my wedding dress and ultimately, where I said 'yes' to the dress. After trying on both fitted and ballgown style dresses, I fell in love with both and wanted to figure out a way to wear more than one style to my wedding," Nicole explained. Together with the Monique Lhuillier team, they crafted a custom overskirt for her fit-and-flare dress, transforming it into a seamless ballgown. "Unlike most overskirts, this truly became a second dress as it was completely seamless over my fitted gown and equally as full as a ballgown," she shared with a smile.
The decision to wear the dramatic ballgown look for the aisle and switch to the fitted dress for the reception embodied the versatility Nicole desired. Later, she added a touch of glamour with a custom Cristina Ottaviano mirrored mini-dress for the after-party.
The morning of the wedding, Nicole and her bridal party prepared at the Loews Regency Hotel. “We had all the bridesmaids get ready in the bridal suite, which helped set the tone for the wedding day as we listened to music and drank champagne," Nicole recalled.
The florals for the day, including Nicole's wedding bouquet, were meticulously designed by Birch Event Design. Surrounded by her bridesmaids and family, Nicole's getting ready process was a heartfelt moment shared with the closest women in her life, marking the beginning of a day they would all remember forever.
The first look took place outside the Plaza Hotel, a moment filled with emotion and love. "Of course, I thought Nicole looked beautiful. I was so happy to see her after waiting several hours that morning before photos. Her dress was gorgeous and I could tell how much time and effort she spent to make it perfect. She took my breath away!" Scott confessed while Nicole felt a sense of calm and excitement. "I felt a calmness during the first look as I couldn't wait to see Scott and be by his side for the rest of the day," she said, eager to begin their life together.
The ceremony took place at Cipriani Broadway. “Birch Event Design did an amazing job with transforming the space so that we could have our ceremony on-site and then an hour later, invite guests into the same space for our reception,” Nicole shared.
Nicole walking down the aisle to "A Thousand Years" was a dream come true. That walk was everything she ever dreamed of!
Nicole and Scott's wedding venue, the breathtaking Cipriani Broadway, was adorned in a romantic palette of white and blush. "The focal point of our room was definitely the mirrored, rose-colored dance floor and four, fifteen-foot-tall trees. These trees served as both our Chuppah for our ceremony and anchors for the dance floor during the reception. The trees were wrapped magnificently in white flowers with gold leaves," Nicole shared.
Personalization played a key role in making the wedding uniquely theirs. Beyond the custom-designed stationery, including napkins, menus, and hand towels that carried their monogram, the couple introduced fun, personalized items at the after-party. "We had custom hats (that paid homage to the bar where we met in 2017) and custom light-up foam sticks," Nicole said, her eyes lighting up at the memory.
The reception was a vibrant continuation of Nicole and Scott's dream wedding, marked by heartfelt moments. The couple's first dance was beautifully choreographed to the acoustic version of "Latch" by Sam Smith, a choice that held significant meaning for them both. "After two slow verses, our band transitioned into the fast-paced version so that we could invite our guests onto the dance floor to dance with us and get the party started," Nicole added, recalling the joy of that moment.
The wedding cake, a creation of Lulu Cake Boutique, was not only a feast for the taste buds but also a visual masterpiece that complemented the room's decor.
Reflecting on their experience with the wedding vendors, Nicole and Scott couldn't be more thankful. "All of our vendors were truly amazing and complete experts in their field! Everyone worked tirelessly in order to bring our visions to life. There were no bounds to their creativity and efforts. We are so grateful to have worked with such talented individuals."
