A Fairytale Come True: Emitis and Mohammed's Dreamy Wedding at Bastide du Roy

Love Story

Every great love story has its beginning, and for Emitis and Mohammed, it all started in the bustling hallways of their school back in 2015. "We met for the first time at the age of 16," Emitis reminisces. "A chance meeting turned into a friendship defined by shared laughter and the kind of mischief that makes memories." Their playful antics, from signing clinic passes to a junior prom invitation, laid the foundation for their forever. As the years passed, their love grew stronger.

The proposal was a beautiful blend of cultural traditions and personal dreams. "In our culture, the man tells his family he wants to ask for the woman's hand in marriage. Then the man's family comes over to the woman's families house and formally asks for her hand in marriage for their son," Emitis explains.

But Mohammed had a surprise in store. "I had always told him aside from the cultural proposal I always wanted a western proposal too," Emitis recalls. "Fast forward to that summer in August when we visited South of France for the first time, he surprised me to a beautiful dinner in the city of Antibes at Hotel Cap Du Roc." Mohammed chimes in, "The warmth of that moment continues to fill our hearts, reminding us of the journey we've embarked upon together."

Emitis and Mohammed lead busy lives. "I work in public relations," Emitis shares, "and Mohammed works in events in his family business." But they always make time for each other. "Our hobbies include playing sports, biking together, and just making memories together," Mohammed adds with a loving glance at his bride.

As they stand on the threshold of their new beginning, Emitis and Mohammed are filled with excitement. "We invite you to witness and celebrate our love story at Bastide du Roy as the backdrop to our next chapter. From that fateful day in school to this joyous occasion, our love has grown stronger, deeper, and more profound with each passing day. We are thrilled to commemorate our union, surrounded by the love and blessings of our family and friends," they say. "Join us as we embark on this beautiful journey, cherishing every moment, memory, and milestone that awaits us."

Emitis and Mohammed's dream wedding came to life in the stunning Bastide du Roy in Antibes, France. With 180 guests in attendance, the couple celebrated their union in a setting that perfectly matched their vision.

The wedding planning process took a year, but for the couple, it was well worth the effort. Mohammed adds, beaming with pride, "We still say it to this day that we got our dream wedding. We honestly couldnt have asked for anything more."

The style of the wedding was a beautiful blend of natural elements and elegant touches. "Moody flowers, olive green, olive trees, beigey off-white tones," Emitis shares. This color palette created a romantic and sophisticated atmosphere that perfectly complemented the picturesque venue.

When asked about their main source of inspiration during the preparation, the couple exchange a knowing glance. "I think we'd say olive trees," Emitis reveals with a smile. The timeless beauty and symbolism of olive trees clearly played a significant role in shaping their wedding aesthetic.

Morning details

The morning of the wedding was filled with excitement and attention to detail. Every element of Emitis and Mohammed's special day was carefully chosen to reflect their love story and personal style.

The couple's invitations were a work of art in themselves. "I knew I wanted a watercolor style drawing of our venue on our invite," Emitis shares with enthusiasm. "Bianca Events did the rest!" The result was a stunning set of invitations that gave guests a beautiful preview of the magical day to come.

But the invitations were just the beginning of their gorgeous wedding stationery. "For my bridesmaid proposal, I created a box with Lilac studios," Emitis explains. "It was the most perfect bridesmaid box." Her eyes light up as she recalls the reaction of her bridesmaids to this thoughtful gesture.

The couple's attention to detail extended to every aspect of their wedding stationery. "The save the dates were done by myself using Canva," Emitis says proudly. "The invites, menu, table numbers, name cards were all done by Bianca Events" This cohesive approach to their wedding stationery ensured that every piece reflected their unique style and the aesthetic of their special day.

When it came to choosing their wedding rings, Emitis and Mohammed made it a joint adventure. "We spent one Saturday together going through the diamond souq here in Dubai," Mohammed recalls with a smile. "And we both found the one the same day!" This shared experience made their wedding rings even more special, a symbol of their unity and shared decision-making.

For Emitis, her wedding day jewelry held deep sentimental value. "For my wedding day, I wore the jewellery set that was gifted to me by his family when asking for my hand in marriage," she says, her voice filled with emotion. This beautiful tradition added an extra layer of meaning to her bridal look, connecting the past to the present and future.

Bride getting ready

Emitis's bridal look was nothing short of stunning, with not one, but two beautiful gowns for the big day. Her journey to find the perfect dresses was an adventure in itself, spanning two countries and countless boutiques.

"My first look was from La Mariee Atelier in Istanbul, Turkey," Emitis explains, her eyes sparkling with the memory. "It took me some time as I dreamt of having a beaded dress, but after trying 20 dresses all over Dubai I didnt find anything i fell inlove with. Thats when I decided to travel to Turkey."

The search for the first dress became a special mother-daughter bonding experience. "My mom and I ran around Istanbul tried over 30 dresses," Emitis laughs. "After I tried on my dress at La Mariee Atelier, I continued searching but my mind stayed with it. So we went back and got it the same day."

For her second look, Emitis turned to The Bridal Atelier in Dubai, UAE. "The second look was love at first wear," she gushes. "We all knew it was the one from the moment i wore it. I chose it in the first store and first trial in my wedding dress journey."

Emitis added some stunning accessories. "My veil was custom and hand-made to match my dress," she shares, running her fingers along the delicate fabric. "And my shoes were Jimmy Choo's!" The excitement in her voice is palpable as she recalls these beautiful details.

But a bride's look isn't complete without the perfect hair and makeup, and Emitis was fortunate to work with an artist who truly understood her vision. Her eyes light up as she talks about her experience: "My makeup and hair artist, she was a dream to work with. I still am in contact with her to this day and I believe she deserves a very big shoutout. I absolutely loved her."

The morning of the wedding was filled with joy and anticipation as Emitis prepared for her big day. "For our getting ready, we were with our immediate family, bridesmaids, and groomsmen," she recalls fondly. This intimate gathering created a warm and supportive atmosphere as Emitis transformed into a radiant bride.

The getting ready process was captured in a beautiful photoshoot at their venue, Bastide Du Roy in Antibes. The stunning backdrop of the French Riviera chateau added an extra touch of magic to these precious moments.

When it came to her bridesmaids, Emitis took a unique approach. "The bridesmaids all sourced their own dresses from various places," she explains. This personal touch allowed each bridesmaid to choose a dress that made them feel beautiful and comfortable, while still coordinating with the overall wedding aesthetic.

As Emitis put on her dress, slipped into her Jimmy Choo shoes, and adjusted her custom veil, she was surrounded by the love and support of her closest friends and family. It was in these moments, filled with laughter, happy tears, and shared excitement, that the magic of her wedding day truly began to unfold.

First Look

The couple's first look took place at the staircase inside the chateau at their venue. It was a moment filled with emotion and anticipation.
"He cried!!" Emitis exclaims, her face beaming with joy. “I was so happy I saw tears coming out his eyes hahah! I've been telling him all year leading up to the wedding that I hope he cries when he sees me in the dress and he kept saying that wont happen (he doesnt tend to be a crier) so I was just so glad he did haha"

Photoshoot before the ceremony

The couple took advantage of their stunning venue for their pre-ceremony photoshoot. "Our venue was huge," Emitis explains. "We had the opportunity to shoot across the venue, inside the chateau, in the patio, and in the courtyard surrounded my olive tress and infront of a beautiful fountain"

These diverse backdrops allowed the couple to capture a variety of beautiful moments before their ceremony began.

Ceremony

Emitis and Mohammed's ceremony was a beautiful blend of their cultural traditions, creating a truly unique and meaningful celebration of their love. The couple incorporated two special traditions that reflected their heritage and added depth to their wedding day.

"We had the Sofreh Aghd, which is an Iranian tradition," Emitis explains with pride. "It is the ceremony where the legal marriage and ceremonial traditions are exchanged. The ceremonial traditions have been practiced for thousands of years and sofreh aghd spreads are usually very customary at Persian weddings."

The setting for this beautiful tradition was nothing short of magical. "The Sofreh Aghd took place in a stunning diamond quarter in the garden of the venue," Emitis recalls, her eyes sparkling at the memory. "If you see what Sofreh Aghd is like there is so much beauty in it."

Adding to the cultural richness of their ceremony, the couple also incorporated a Palestinian tradition. "Another tradition we had is the Zaffa," Mohammed shares. "It is a traditional Palestinian celebratory march that takes place. The groom is escorted into the wedding with a traditional musical march alongside his family and friends."

The ceremony unfolded like a beautiful dance, with each tradition playing its part. "The Zaffa led the groom out the chateau and into venue where all guests where," Emitis describes. "And another Zaffa took place after the brides entrance and led the bride and groom to the Sofreh Aghd ceremony."

The music for their ceremony was carefully chosen to reflect their journey and heritage. The bride's entrance with the mother was to the song 'To raa ke didam' by Ragheb. The bride and groom entrance to Sofreh Aghd was to "Video Games’ by Lana Del Ray. The musical surprises continued with a second entrance by the bride and groom, featuring an instrumental house remix created by musicians in Iceland. This remix was of the song "How Deep Is Your Love."

The ceremony was filled with special moments and roles for their loved ones. "It was read in Farsi by my uncle and translated to English by my aunt," Emitis says warmly. "My bridesmaids and cousins all held special roles within it as well. It was truly beautiful."

Even the role of ring bearer held special significance. "The ring bearer was my Iranian best friend," Emitis shares, her voice filled with emotion.
As they reflect on their ceremony, both Emitis and Mohammed are overwhelmed by the beauty and meaning of it all.

Wedding Venue & Decor

The couple's choice of venue, Bastide du Roy in Antibes, France, provided the perfect backdrop for their dream wedding. "My aunt-in-law and wedding planner found it," Emitis explains.

The decor was a beautiful reflection of their vision, with a color palette that included olive green, moody pinks, moody red, and off-white tones. "We always wanted a destination wedding that was outdoor, surrounded by greenery, and a beautiful chateau in the backdrop," Emitis shares, her eyes shining with joy. "And that's exactly what we had the privilege of getting!"

Reception

The reception was a joyous celebration of Emitis and Mohammed's love. For their first dance, the couple chose the song "Those Eyes" by New West, swaying together as their guests looked on with delight.

While the couple didn't opt for any specific special foods or drinks, they ensured their guests were well taken care of. "The food was great and the bar was great," Emitis notes. The wedding cake, provided by their catering company, was a beautiful addition to the evening's festivities.

The decision to work with a wedding planner, especially for a destination wedding in the French Riviera, proved to be a wise one. It allowed Emitis and Mohammed to focus on the joy of their celebration and the company of their loved ones, while all the intricate details were expertly managed behind the scenes.

As the night drew to a close, Emitis and Mohammed looked back on their perfect day with hearts full of love and gratitude. "Being surrounded by all our friends and family who traveled from all across the globe to be there and celebrate with us," Mohammed reflects on the key moment they’ll remember from the wedding.

And so, under the starry sky of the French Riviera, Emitis and Mohammed's fairytale began its next chapter, a testament to the enduring power of love that started in a high school hallway and blossomed into a beautiful forever.
