Some wedding planners focus on logistics. Others focus on design. And then there are those who build something deeper—an experience that feels like an extension of the couple’s life, their taste, and the way they see the world.
That’s exactly what Lisa Boncristiano, co-founder of Wanderlust Wedding, has been creating for over 13 years.
Based on the French Riviera and working across iconic destinations, Lisa and her husband Franck approach weddings as immersive, multi-day experiences—where every detail is personal, every guest feels considered, and nothing feels generic.
We spoke with Lisa about building a business from scratch, designing weddings that truly reflect each couple, and why trust is the foundation of everything they do.
For Lisa and Franck, the journey didn’t begin with a long-term plan—it began with a bold decision.
“We were still young and just took the leap, believing in ourselves.”
While many of their peers were still studying, they chose a different path—diving straight into the world of events, working long hours, and investing everything into their vision. Their first wedding set the tone.
“It was in Monaco… a small wedding on the Rocher near the palace, overlooking the harbor.”
Intimate, emotional, and full of character, it was a beginning that reflected what would later define their work: meaningful settings, strong atmosphere, and attention to feeling—not just visuals.
Over the years, one thing has remained at the center of everything they do. People.
“We love the relationship we have with our clients.”
For Lisa, wedding planning is not transactional—it’s personal. They step into their clients’ lives, understand their world, and become part of something deeply meaningful.
And that connection is what allows them to create weddings that feel authentic—never staged, never detached.
While design is a major part of their work, Lisa’s focus always begins somewhere else. The guests.
“Guest experience is so important to me.”
For Wanderlust Wedding, a wedding isn’t just a single-day event—it’s a full journey. Multi-day celebrations, curated stays, and thoughtful details ensure that every guest feels immersed from beginning to end. At the same time, Franck brings a strong design perspective, shaped by his background in event production.
“He loves planning weddings that are different and being challenged creatively.”
Together, they balance atmosphere and aesthetics—creating weddings that feel both welcoming and visually striking.
There are no packages. No templates. No shortcuts.
“All our weddings are tailor made.”
Every project is built from scratch, shaped entirely around the couple—their style, their lifestyle, and even the things they love outside of weddings.
“We look at restaurants they like, movies, home décor, fashion…”
Because real inspiration doesn’t come from wedding trends. It comes from life. And that’s what makes each celebration feel so personal.
Some weddings stand out because of their scale. Others—because of their concept. One of the most memorable for Lisa was a bold, unexpected fusion.
“A Burning Man wedding in a French château.”
The couple wanted to recreate the energy of Burning Man—raw, expressive, unconventional—within the refined setting of a historic French estate. It was a contrast that shouldn’t have worked. But it did.
“It was a wow factor décor that clashed with the Burning Man vibe.”
And that contrast made it unforgettable.
Lisa’s process always begins with understanding—not just preferences, but personality.
“We try to understand their general lifestyle vibe.”
This goes beyond mood boards and Pinterest references. It’s about how clients live, what they enjoy, what feels natural to them. Through constant communication—calls, messages, and ongoing conversations—they build a space where couples feel comfortable, heard, and supported.
And from that comfort comes clarity.
While they work across various destinations, certain venues continue to stand out. Château de Tourreau is one of them—a place that offers both grandeur and intimacy.
“It has this wow effect… while still feeling like a family home.”
Being based on the French Riviera also allows them to collaborate with some of the region’s most prestigious five-star hotels—each offering a different kind of luxury experience.
Planning a wedding is complex. Planning one in five weeks? That’s a different level.
“They only had the venue… everything else had to be done.”
It required speed, precision, and complete trust from the couple. And that trust made all the difference.
“Everything came to life perfectly.”
It’s a reminder that while time matters, the right team—and the right mindset—matter more.
When it comes to finances, Lisa keeps it simple.
“Trust us.”
With strong relationships across trusted vendors, they know where to invest, where to adjust, and how to maintain balance without compromising the overall vision.
“When one vendor goes over, we find balance elsewhere.”
It’s not about cutting—it’s about managing intelligently.
Ask Lisa what matters most, and the answer is immediate. Trust.
“Find a planner you trust and really match with.”
Because when the relationship works, everything else becomes easier. In many cases, that connection goes beyond the wedding itself.
“Sometimes we do become friends.”
And that’s when the process feels natural—not transactional.
Even after years of experience, there are still dreams waiting. For Lisa, one stands above the rest.
A place where history meets grandeur—and where contemporary design could create something entirely new.
A perfect reflection of what Wanderlust Wedding does best:
Blending worlds. Creating contrast. And turning it into something unforgettable.
At its core, Wanderlust Wedding is not just about planning an event. It’s about creating a space where people feel connected—to each other, to the place, and to the moment.
A celebration that feels like you. Not just something beautiful. Something real.
