Cassia Thomas has been planning weddings for over ten years. She is based in Paris, works primarily across Paris, France, Sicily, and Italy, and takes on a deliberately limited number of celebrations each year. Those are the facts. What they don't convey is the particular way she thinks about this work - which is less about events and more about what people carry home with them when an event is over.

"Long after the flowers have faded and the music has ended, people rarely remember every detail," she says.

They remember how they felt, who they shared those moments with and the memories they created together.

That framing - memory over detail, feeling over execution - runs through everything about how Cassia Thomas Weddings operates. It's not a philosophy adopted for marketing purposes. It's the actual lens through which every decision gets made.

What She's Really Doing

Ask Cassia what she loves most about her work and she doesn't mention design or logistics or the moment a venue is transformed. She goes straight to something more fundamental.

"The trust my couples place in me," she says. "Planning a wedding is about far more than organising a celebration. It is about understanding people, earning their trust and helping them navigate one of the most important chapters of their lives."

Her description of her own role is precise in a way that matters: "My role is not to tell couples what to do. My role is to provide expertise, perspective and honest guidance so they can make the decisions that feel right for them." That distinction shapes the entire experience of working with Cassia. The couples who come to her are not handing over their wedding to be produced. They're gaining a navigator for a journey they're still making themselves.

"The greatest success is not a beautiful table, a stunning venue or a flawless timeline," she says. "It is knowing that my couples felt supported throughout the entire journey, trusted the decisions they made and were able to enjoy every moment because they knew they were in good hands."

Why the Destination Is Never the Starting Point

Cassia works in places she knows with the depth that only comes from sustained, repeated experience. Paris. Sicily. Throughout Italy - the venues, the suppliers, the rhythm of how celebrations unfold in each context. That knowledge is not incidental to the work. It's what allows her to guide couples through decisions with genuine authority rather than managed uncertainty.

But she's clear that the destination is not what makes a wedding memorable. "What remains are the emotions, the memories created together and the feeling people take home with them long after the celebration has ended."

The venues she's drawn to reflect this. In Paris, the Hôtel de Crillon - "its heritage, sense of place and level of hospitality create an atmosphere that feels both elegant and deeply welcoming" - and Château de Champlâtreux, for its ability to feel simultaneously grand and intimate. In Sicily, Villa Igiea, Villa Tasca, Noto, and Taormina: "They embody everything I love about Italian hospitality - beauty, authenticity, remarkable gastronomy and a genuine sense of connection." The Fontenille Collection properties and Menorca draw her for different reasons - their intimacy, their rootedness, their ability to make people slow down.

"The venues I love most are not necessarily the most impressive," she says. "They are the ones that allow people to slow down, connect, create meaningful memories and truly experience the celebration from beginning to end."

220 Guests, Two Ceremonies, One Vision

The most complex celebration Cassia describes was a multi-day Franco-British wedding bringing together 220 guests, two ceremonies, and a large team of creative partners. Scale alone doesn't make a wedding difficult. What makes it difficult is keeping every element aligned with a single coherent vision across months of planning, a large team, and the inevitable pressures that accumulate as the day approaches.

"The challenge was never the scale itself," she says. "It was ensuring that every guest, every partner and every decision remained aligned with the couple's vision from beginning to end."

The lesson she draws from experiences like this is one she returns to consistently:

Exceptional celebrations are built long before the wedding day itself. They are the result of trust, preparation, anticipation and countless thoughtful decisions working together behind the scenes. The greatest challenge is never managing complexity. It is preserving the feeling that everything is unfolding naturally for the couple and their guests, even when months of planning, coordination and expertise have made that possible.

On Timelines - and What They're Actually For

Cassia's approach to wedding timelines reframes the entire concept in a way worth sitting with.

"A timeline should never be built around logistics alone," she says. "It should be built around the experience you want to create. From the moment a couple wakes up on their wedding day to the final glass of champagne shared with their guests, every moment contributes to how the celebration will be remembered."

The most memorable celebrations, in her view, are not the ones that fit the most into a day. "They are the ones that allow people to fully experience every moment of it." A timeline with no breathing room produces a wedding where everyone is moving but no one is present. Cassia builds the opposite - structure that creates space rather than filling it.

What She Tells Couples Before Anything Else

Her advice to couples in the early stages of planning is the clearest statement of what Cassia Thomas Weddings stands for. "Before making any decision, take the time to understand what truly matters to you," she says.

The most successful celebrations are not necessarily the biggest or the most elaborate. They are the ones that reflect the couple, their priorities and the experience they want to share with the people they love.

She adds something practical that gets overlooked in most planning conversations: "Be thoughtful about your investment from the very beginning. When priorities, expectations and investment are aligned, decisions become clearer and the planning process becomes far more enjoyable."

Aligned from the beginning. That alignment is what Cassia spends the first part of every client relationship establishing. Everything built on top of it is more stable for it.

The Privilege She Keeps Coming Back To

Cassia closes with something she clearly means, having said versions of it across ten years of working with couples on one of the most significant days of their lives.

"A wedding is one of the few moments in life when all the people you love are gathered in the same place at the same time," she says. "It is a privilege to help create an experience that will become part of their story for years to come."

Part of their story. Not the backdrop to it, not the logistics surrounding it - part of it. That is what Cassia Thomas Weddings is building, in Paris and Sicily and across Italy, one carefully considered celebration at a time.
