Some love stories begin quietly. Others spark in unexpected places. For Varawedding, the spark arrived long before the company officially existed.

“We founded Varawedding in 2011, but our journey in the wedding industry actually began much earlier, in 2005,” the team shares. Back then, they were immersed in the media side of the wedding world—capturing moments, observing traditions, learning how couples celebrated love. But over time, one realization grew stronger: they wanted to be part of the celebration itself.

“To create meaningful experiences for couples,” they explain, “we decided to establish our own company with a simple mission: to provide couples with trustworthy, heartfelt, and reliable wedding planning services in Bali.”

Their Director of Planning, Christina, still remembers the first wedding that changed everything—a small, deeply emotional blend of Indonesian and Scottish traditions. “The groom wore a traditional Scottish outfit, while the bride looked stunning in a classic Indonesian kebaya,” she recalls. “Seeing two cultures come together so harmoniously sparked something in me.”

That moment lit a path that has guided Varawedding for nearly two decades.

Fourteen Years of Planning with Purpose

Today, Varawedding stands as one of Bali’s most respected planning studios, with 14 years of dedicated experience and a portfolio that spans Western, Indian, Sri Lankan, Mongolian, Nepalese, Indonesian, and multicultural celebrations.

“We love getting to know our couples, understanding what makes their relationship special, and turning that into a celebration that feels truly theirs,” they say.

For them, planning is not just logistics. It’s intimacy. It’s storytelling. It’s connection.

The Philosophy That Holds It All Together

At the heart of Varawedding is a quiet but powerful belief:

“We believe every wedding should feel like you—personal, joyful, and unforgettable.”

They’re inspired by weddings filled with laughter and happy tears, celebrations where warmth and togetherness feel effortless.

Their company motto says it all:

Happy Couple, Happy Wedding.

It’s simple—but not easy. It demands empathy, intuition, and a deep commitment to honoring who the couple truly is.

A Studio Defined by Customization

Unlike planners who rely on fixed packages, Varawedding takes a different approach.

“We specialize in 100% fully customized weddings. We do not offer standard packages because we believe every wedding should be personal and unique,” the team emphasizes. “Customization is at the heart of what we do, and we never charge extra for it.”

Whether it’s a multi-day Indian celebration, an intimate Western wedding, or an Indonesian cultural ceremony, everything is tailored—from vendor selection to design, flow, and emotional experience.

Every wedding becomes a one-of-a-kind narrative.

Moments They’ll Never Forget

Every planner remembers the weddings that shape them. Varawedding’s team is no exception.

Christina’s First Year of Growth

Within her first year, Christina found herself leading several large-scale weddings—each complex, each beautiful. One particular celebration left a deep imprint.

“Four couples from the bridal party and family later chose me to plan their weddings,” she shares. “Those experiences taught me how to navigate complex logistics and ensure that even the grandest weddings still feel personal.”

Rashmi’s Viral Celebration

Rashmi, their Director of Indian Weddings, recalls a wedding rooted in trust.

“One couple chose Varawedding after comparing several planners. Their full trust in us became the foundation of an incredible collaboration,” she says. The event later went viral—yet for her, the win was the relationship, not the spotlight.

Astini’s Artistic Dream

Assistant Manager Astini remembers a 2024 celebration created in partnership with a textile and sculpture artist.

“The final result surprised even our team,” she recalls. “It was a true reminder of how artistry and collaboration can transform a wedding into something extraordinary.”

How Varawedding Understands Every Couple

Varawedding begins with listening—really listening.

We start by building a genuine connection with each couple,” they share. “We explore what you love most about Bali and the experiences you want to create.

From there, the process unfolds with care:

  • Curating top-quality vendors

  • Providing multiple options and variations

  • Tailoring every decision to the couple’s personality

Their goal is not just beauty—it’s belonging.

Bali and Beyond: The Venues They Love

While Bali is home, Varawedding’s reach extends across the region.

“We work with venues across all of Bali,” they share. “We’ve planned weddings at nearly every type of venue on the island.”

And for destination-minded couples:

  • Sumba

  • Labuan Bajo

  • Lombok

…are among their favorite alternatives.

One signature commitment: They never recommend a venue they haven’t personally visited.

“For Labuan Bajo, our team conducted thorough inspections of every hotel and venue to guarantee the highest standards for our couples.”

This level of diligence sets them apart.

Navigating Challenges with Grace

Weather remains Bali’s biggest wildcard.

“With global climate changes, Bali’s weather patterns have become less consistent,” they explain. To safeguard the celebration, Varawedding always prepares thoughtful backup plans— tents, revised floor plans, or indoor transitions—without compromising design or flow.

“No matter what the sky looks like, the day should still feel seamless, beautiful, and full of joy.”

Budgeting with Intention

From day one, honesty anchors the conversation.

“We start by identifying priorities,” they say. “Is it the venue, catering, entertainment, or décor?”

This allows couples to make meaningful financial choices while still achieving their dream celebration.

Advice for Couples Planning Their Weddings

Your wedding should feel like you—no trends required.

“It doesn’t have to follow every Pinterest trend,” they emphasize. “Focus on what makes you happy, show your true style, and let your personality shine through.”

Authenticity beats perfection every time.

A Message to Their Younger Selves

“If we could give ourselves advice from the early years,” they reflect, “it would be to stay focused and take the time to truly understand the market.”

Clarity, not speed, is what builds a lasting business.

Focus, clarity, and market understanding are what turn passion into a sustainable business.

A Dream Venue Among the Clouds

If they could choose any place in the world to craft a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, the answer comes easily:

Sumba Island.

“Known for its clear skies, pristine beaches, and crystal-blue waters, Sumba feels both intimate and extraordinary,” they say. Venues like Nihi Sumba offer the perfect blend of nature and luxury.

A place where a wedding becomes a memory that lives forever.
