A story rooted in artistry, resilience, and boundless curiosity. From Ukraine to the East Coast of the United States, Iryna Shostak has transformed her passion for photography into an expressive craft defined by connection, elegance, and timeless beauty. Join us as we explore her journey, her creative voice, and the soulful philosophy that shapes every frame.
For Iryna Shostak, photography began not with weddings, but with a fascination for capturing life as it is—raw, real, and beautiful. Originally from Ukraine, she discovered her passion for photography in 2009. But it wasn’t until she moved to the U.S. in 2016 that she uncovered the path that would change everything.
“Moving to the U.S. in 2016 gave me a fresh perspective on love, culture, and connection, and I feel incredibly lucky to document beautiful multicultural celebrations across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and beyond.”
Now based in New Jersey, Iryna documents wedding and elopement stories with elegance and heart. Her work is not just about beautiful images—it's about crafting a calm and personal experience that couples remember forever.
Iryna’s approach to photography is as soulful as it is refined. Her images are an ode to connection: timeless, graceful, and steeped in genuine emotion. When asked about her artistic style, she doesn’t hesitate:
“My photography style combines dramatic portraits, authentic moments, and classic storytelling, resulting in timeless and elegant wedding imagery.”
Whether it’s the golden-hour glow during a countryside elopement or a quiet glance between two soulmates in a grand ballroom, Iryna seeks out the beauty in the in-between moments. Her editorial eye ensures every image is elevated, while her gentle demeanor puts couples at ease.
Iryna’s dedication to quality doesn’t stop at the moment of capture. Her camera bag is filled with top-tier Nikon gear, allowing her to adapt to any environment or light scenario with grace. Her go-to tools include:
Nikon Z8
Nikon Z6III
Nikon Z 14-24mm f2.8
Nikon Z 35mm f1.8
Nikon tilt-shift 45mm f2.8
Nikon Z 85mm f1.2
Nikon Z 70-200mm F2.8
Nikon Z 105 mm f2.8 macro
Nikon Z 100-400 F2.8
Lighting tools like the Ice Light, Flashpoint Zoom Li-on X PRO R2, and Godox AD 300Pro help her craft dreamy, controlled light even in the most challenging spaces.
When it comes to editing, Iryna is meticulous, but not overbearing. She values staying true to the moment, ensuring the final gallery is polished yet authentic.
“I use Narrative Select for culling, theImpossible things in Lightroom to better my raw files and polish the color edited images in Photoshop. I try to stay true to color so my images look timeless.”
Ask Iryna what she loves most about photography, and her response is instant:
“What I enjoy most about being a photographer is the opportunity to meet incredible people and learn about their unique love stories—every couple inspires me in a different way, and I feel honored to capture those meaningful connections through my lens.”
She gravitates toward couples who love deeply, live fully, and often share her own passions—traveling, personal growth, and pets. This shared energy helps foster a creative synergy that allows true emotion to shine.
Working with Iryna isn’t just about hiring a photographer—it’s about feeling seen. Her process is deeply collaborative and rooted in trust.
“I approach every client relationship with care, clear communication, and a collaborative spirit. From our initial conversation to the final gallery delivery, I take the time to understand each couple’s vision, preferences, and personality so I can tell their story in a way that feels authentic to them.”
She guides gently, always making space for spontaneity, while ensuring that each photo feels natural, elegant, and unique. And yes—custom packages are absolutely available:
“Of course.”
With years of experience and countless weddings behind her, Iryna has cultivated wisdom that she loves to share with couples. Here are her top three suggestions for those preparing for a photo shoot or wedding:
“1. Trust the process – Choose a photographer whose style and energy you connect with, then trust their vision and guidance. When you feel comfortable and supported, your photos will reflect that ease and authenticity.”
“2. Prioritize natural light – Whenever possible, plan your timeline around the best lighting of the day, especially for portraits and outdoor moments. Golden hour (right before sunset) creates the most romantic, glowing images.”
“3. Be present and enjoy your day – The most beautiful photos come from real emotions. Let go of stress, soak in the joy, and allow yourself to truly experience each moment—your photos will naturally reflect the love and magic of your day.”
Whether it's an intimate mountaintop elopement or a chic European affair, Iryna’s adventurous heart beats for destination celebrations.
“I do love destination weddings. My favorite locations are Mexico and Italy. My dream destination is Patagonia and Iceland.”
It’s no surprise that a soul who hikes the world’s mountains, knits sweaters in between flights, and reads a hundred books a year finds joy in faraway love stories.
What makes Iryna Shostak stand out isn't just her mastery of light or her editorial style—it's her devotion to human connection and her zest for life. Whether she’s guiding a nervous couple through their first look or chasing golden hour in Tuscany, her work always reflects one thing: intention.
“I truly value the relationships I build with my couples, and I strive to create an experience that feels calm, personal, and unforgettable.”
