It started with a dating app match in the fall of 2019 — the kind of connection that catches you off guard because it feels too easy, too natural, too good to be real. Hannah and Timothy started talking, and the banter just clicked. Before long, they were sitting across from each other at the Dandelion restaurant in Philadelphia, a cozy British-inspired spot that turned out to be the perfect backdrop for a first date that neither of them wanted to end. Craft cocktails, hearty food, conversation that ran away with itself.

"It felt like we'd known each other for years."

And then the world stopped. The pandemic arrived just months into their relationship, and instead of pulling them apart, it pulled them closer. Quarantine became something they lived together — home-cooked meals, quiet evenings, inside jokes that only the two of them understood. When travel opened back up, they were ready. European villages, sun-drenched beaches, new cities and old wine — they explored all of it side by side, falling deeper in love with every trip.

Four years in, Tim proposed on the front porch of their own home. No destination, no grand spectacle. Just their porch, the two of them, and a question that changed everything.

About Your Wedding

Hannah knew exactly what she wanted. Not a traditional wedding, not a formal affair — something that felt alive. "My vision for the wedding was always organic and wanted to stay very close to the style of Tuscany," she tells us. "I always envisioned it as a vacation with our closest friends where we all had time to truly catch up with one another, soak up the sun, drink amazing wine and eat delicious food and just celebrate our love."

Seventy of their closest people, a Tuscan vineyard, and flowers absolutely everywhere. The style was vintage garden — dusty rose pinks, antique creams, burnt browns — and the intention was clear from the start: "I wanted all the guests to feel very welcomed and like there was a personal touch for each of them at every corner." That's the kind of wedding this was.

Morning Details

Before the ceremony ever began, the love was already in the details. Invitations, menus, seating cards, and itineraries were all designed by Chick Invitation out of Philadelphia — each piece carrying the same vintage, garden-party warmth that ran through every corner of the day.

The rings were chosen with real intention. Hannah went with an emerald cut eternity band; Timothy chose a yellow gold band with a private inscription that belongs only to the two of them. Small, personal, forever.

And then there were the heirlooms. Hannah walked down the aisle wearing her great-grandmother's drop diamond earrings and her mother's vintage diamond tennis bracelet. Two generations of love, clasped around her wrist and swinging gently from her ears. There's something about that we find quietly breathtaking.

Bride Getting Ready

Hannah got ready in the main suite of one of Ombroneta's gorgeous villas, surrounded by her closest people, with the Tuscan morning light doing what Tuscan morning light does best.

The dress was Monique Lhuillier, discovered at The Wedding Shoppe in Wayne, Pennsylvania — and the search, by Hannah's own account, was refreshingly uncomplicated. "I knew as soon as I saw it!" No second-guessing, no months of searching. Just that immediate, stomach-dropping certainty. With its ethereal construction and that unmistakable Monique Lhuillier softness — the kind of gown that looks like it was made specifically for a Tuscan hillside — it's not hard to understand why she knew.

She finished the look with a veil, shoes, and those precious family pieces — the diamond drops and the tennis bracelet that made her feel held by the women who loved her long before this day.

Her bouquet, crafted by Flowers Living, was all antique beauty: dusty rose pinks, creams, and burnt browns that looked like they'd been gathered from a forgotten garden somewhere in the Italian countryside. Hair and makeup were handled by Cherie Spisso, who understood exactly what the moment called for.

Groom Getting Ready

Ceremony

Yellow by Coldplay started playing, and Hannah began to walk.
"I will always remember walking down the aisle. I remember waiting and the feeling of anticipation and then finally making my way down the aisle to meet my groom!" She had held onto that feeling all morning, and here it was — spilling over.

The ceremony took place overlooking Ombroneta's vineyard, with the rolling hills of Tuscany stretching behind them like something out of a film. Their niece scattered petals as the flower girl; their nephews carried the rings. And the person standing at the front, ready to marry them? Hannah's own sister.
"It felt so special and also so funny," Hannah says, "keeping everything light and real." That's the thing about having someone who truly knows you officiate your wedding — they don't just read words, they tell the truth about you.

The readings were just as personal. Tim's mother Lisa read a beautiful poem. Hannah's aunt, uncle, and cousin shared a moving excerpt from a book that clearly meant something to all of them. The ceremony held space for laughter and tears in equal measure, and that balance — that refusal to be either stiff or sentimental — made it genuinely unforgettable.

"I remember feeling so overwhelmed with joy," Hannah tells us. We believe her completely.

Wedding Venue & Decor

"I was most inspired by the organic beauty of Italy and finding ways to complement it and let it also shine on its own," the bride shares. That sentence is the key to understanding everything about how Ombroneta looked on February 9th. Hannah didn't want to impose a vision on top of Tuscany — she wanted to work with it, to let the landscape be part of the wedding rather than just a backdrop to it.

The color palette did exactly that. Dusty rose, antique cream, vintage brown — colors that felt native to the soil, the stone, the light. And the flowers. Oh, the flowers. Flowers Living turned Ombroneta into something almost overwhelmingly beautiful, filling every surface with organic, antique-style blooms until the space felt truly engulfed. "I wanted the space to be covered in flowers and feel almost engulfed by them and the gorgeous landscape," Hannah had said during planning. Standing inside that room on the wedding day, her guests understood exactly what she meant.

Choosing Ombroneta itself came after extensive research, but once they found it, there was no question. "We fell in love with the borgo style of the property and the gorgeous design work they had put in," Hannah shares. "Working with Ombroneta's team felt like working with family, so warm and inviting throughout the whole process and during our stay." That kind of relationship with a venue — the kind that feels collaborative rather than transactional — shows up everywhere in the final result.

Reception

Their first dance was to Maroon 5's Sunday Morning — unhurried, warm, the kind of song that wraps around you. It suited them perfectly. Then came the cannolis and the zeppolis, served right there on the dance floor because this is a wedding that never forgot it was also a party. And the highlight of the evening? Hannah and Timothy made a traditional Italian wedding cake in front of their guests. Together, with their people watching. Flour and laughter and something quietly ceremonial about the whole thing.

The music never stopped — a folk trio, a string trio, and a DJ and sax duo from Fix the Music kept the floor moving all night, with Wedding Music and Lights handling the atmosphere that made it all feel like one long, perfect moment.

Seventy people in Tuscany, with good wine and dancing and cannoli being passed around on the dance floor. "I always envisioned it as a vacation with our closest friends," Hannah had said. Looking at how the night unfolded, we think she got that — and then some.
